BAM thank you for this, I kept messing around with the settings and wasn't able to figure it out. Ended up finding out it had to do with the steam overlay thanks to this topic. Thanks a bunch guys!

Seems like I bugged something out, my game was playing fine even with all the mods I've put on for Fallout 3 but now something has hit after about 40 hours of gameplay and I don't know what's up. Basically I can press "E" to talk to an NPC and the dialogue menu comes up but the NPCs are silent with their greeting. However if I choose any of the dialogue options they do respond to every option except for when I say something like "See you later" or "Bye". They end up going silent again. It's like if the transitions to enter and exit these dialogue menus are messed up as the NPCs don't say anything. Has anyone dealt with a similar issue? I tried older saves but they ended up messed up as well like this and I did not install new mods once I got past say 5 hours of the new game. It's up to 40 hours now and it's bugging the hell out of me. It's kind of why I stopped playing but the issue keeps coming around when I want to play again. Edit: Ok as a small update here's what I found out. It seems that if I loaded back to a save where a NPC approached me the conversation triggered just fine and the bug seemed to be gone. I spoke to a beggar outside Rivet City and the transition dialogue (the first sentence they say when you press "E" on them) was there but when I spoke to Crow who was nearby there was no transition dialogue but there was dialogue when I said "See you later" (or whatever that is). Tried it on a Rivet City guard and once again he was silent when I pressed "E" on him... Tried Arlington Library and Scribe Yearling and the BOS NPCs had no opening dialogue but the closing dialogue was there unless I clicked to go past it (obviously).

Here's my scepticism with Fallout 4 and the future with RPGs from Bethesda. http://img-9gag-fun.9cache.com/photo/aepEebp_700b.jpg Aside that, the building your own settlment thing feels ripped from mods (From Fallout 3, NV, Skyrim) and it's not something I personally enjoy but I feel like the games going to try to push it down my throat anyways. I always loved player home mods (Underground Hideout being my go to for Fallout 3 & NV, without counting MZC). I want to roleplay my character, not play an FPS with a guy having a certain voice with some fancy power armor (which I feel got "inspired" by Powered Power Armor) and trickled down with some RPG elements... I was not one of the many who were so enthusiastic with a voiced MC. I did like the idea in Mass Effect but Mass Effect isn't something I could roleplay with while Fallout 3 was for me.

I guess the word user can be seen as negative because some users make the silliest of errors and then ask for help, which some mod authors find funny. I myself wouldn't call myself a mod author (even though I almost have 1000 unique downloads on two very simple mods I made) but I think I'm an extremely experienced user/modder person (lol) because I can troubleshoot almost all of my problems, knowing what conflicts and what doesn't, if it's fixable or not. So... basically, when you really look at it, mod authors may see the term user as negative because perhaps they run across some people who make the most weirdest of errors where they just have to sit back and think "gee how did this person manage to get this dumb" but then again... user is just a user and a mod author are users who create mods... Very simple.

- Update.esm needs to be activated - water.esp and purewaters.esp is a conflict (no doubt about it. Two different water textures will cause CTDs or you're wasting 1 of your 256 plugin slots because the lower mod will just override the higher one) - Climates of Tamriel Nights should be higher on your load order, above the weather patch - Whichever water mod you use, make sure it's below your Full LOD mods - Your Full LOD mods need to be a LOT higher on your load order - You need to have Optimized Vanilla Textures installed - You should modify your Ugrids to load (Follow the instructions on RealVision's page) - Get LOOT or the somewhat outdated BOSS. DO NOT rely on LOOT to fix your load order like a magic tool. - Get Savegame script scapel. - Watch Gopher's videos on youtube. - Make sure you read ALL the instructions on Real Vision's pages, especially near the end where they talk about optimizing your ENB settings... Additionally, what issues are you having? Where do you crash? What issues are you running into?

Quick updates to the site, money money money edition

Wow. Two things here. First I think this is a ridiculous way for Bethesda to cash in on their buggy games. To abuse the modding community. Sorry but I do not want to give 5-10 dollars for an Unofficial patch when about 4-8 of the 10 dollars is going to the company that couldn't even fix the game and the other 2 wont go to the author unless he gets like a hundred dollars for valve to pay out. A very cheap and stupid thing for Bethesda to do. They're going to kill the modding community on Steam (Like there really was one to begin with...) Second, this seems like a dumb idea for people to steal mods from here and put them there. Yes I know what the post said about people being pants on head stupid but never underestimate just how stupid someone can be. Even if they're not successful this is going to cause a lot of problems. The Steam Workshop is going to become nonexistent, people will come here and not stay in a place where they have to pay for stuff. Honestly why pay for something on steam workshop when you can get it here? Nice job Valve, you just destroyed your workshop. *Clap Clap* Good job Nexus, you're going to get a lot more registrations here. These forums are going to become a hell of a lot more active. P.S: I wish I could get to that private mod author forums, only got like 450/1000 Unique Downloads required :( -
The issue I've been having is that for a very odd reason my player character is extremely short. I have no idea what's causing this. I tried - setscale 1 (Did not work. Nothing changed.) - setscale 1.03 (Did work, kind of, but the first person view looks like I'm towering over them. Does not feel natural) - Used showracemenu (Worked for a second when I adjusted the height slide but when I pressed r and enter my character just shrunk!) - Reloaded an older save (I can see at the very first moment it's loading a proper player character size but when the whole screen fades in and I can see "everything" the character just shrinks) - Crouched and stood up again (Nothing) - Punched Braith in the face (Thought that would help) Following images will show you what I see in first person then what I see in third person: My load order is quite large. But I'll put it below anyways. I'm usually really careful with what I download and put. I have had the occasional conflict and issue but it was nothing game breaking, just minor annoyances... And I hope this will be the last one. I don't think it would be any other mods. I was thinking at first I was using a mod where if you would wear a certain type of armor it increases your height a bit but since I already tested this with the fur and then with steel armor with no change, it can't be any of the other ones. To sum it up, the issue is that the character height keeps decreasing. Whether this is due to a mod, I'm not very sure, but it's happening on all save games and it's most likely going to happen on a New game (Will test it soon to confirm). Yes I ran LOOT. I ran TES5Edit to check for conflicts. I verified the integrity of game cache.

I know that and I believe that they are killable. The vanilla kids turn into amazons so my guess is they are killable... I downloaded Non Essential children now... It makes them killable (overlapping the original issue) BUT the mod corrects that children stretching issue, so I guess I'm going to have to keep it... This is as close as I'm going to get to solve this unknown issue now.

Well I know that vlaka, But many people who come to nexus (sometimes from consoles, but not all of them) always like to shout out that BS that your processor will explode, your gui will f*#@ itself, your graphics card will melt, and your tears will not fix it, for you have installed 100+ mods... I wanted to avoid that bs and "uninstall all those mods"... And by the way, Inconsequential NPC makes them killable? I didn't know that and I will be taking a look into it... but requiem is the one I thought that had it, but wasn't completely sure. I'll take a look into Inconsequential NPCs and hopefully I see it there... I was kind of praying that it was an ini config so I could just get rid of it (but it cant be that easy :pinch: ) Thanks for informing me, reply back here if you got a better idea on what is causing this... I hope it isn't Requiem...

Ok, I have no idea how, but for some reason I have the killable children mod installed (or so I think I do because children turn ginormous when using "adult" objects) but I believe its been integrated into one of the other mods I have, like an added feature. If this is not the case then perhaps someone can inform me of an ini configuration or some script i can run (through cheat engine or so) so I can get rid of this, or maybe someone knows of a debugging mod that makes children immortal once again... Anyways here are the mods... Note, that there are a lot of them (149...) I take very good care when It comes to modding but this is the 1st time when I can't track done this issue... Your help is greatly appreciated... Even if you know how the kill-able children mod works (I dont like that mod, even though I am into imerrsion and roleplay, but due to this weird bug I don't want to bother with it, and thus I never learned how it worked) I would accept that help... And yes... I really do have over 100 mods, if I need to state it again because some people just can't believe it; This mod is most likely the last one I will download because after this playthrough I probably will hang up skyrim once again and return to Fallout or possibly go back to Oblivion (or Morrowind if i feel like it..) so don't tell me "uninstall all those mods man".... Thanks  http://s10.postimg.org/ydsgp6ei1/cap.png

OK, I have no idea where I went wrong... I disabled the mods that the FOOK-PN Convergence told me to and got it installed. I installed many other mods and was sure to download their compatibility packs AND I made a merged patch from FNV Edit which seems to load everything just fine meaning that I am not missing a master or the load order is messed up (according to FNV Edit and BOSS), and since the crashes kept happening I re-enabled the mods that PN-FOOK Convergence told me to disable and the game crashes still happened, I cant even get to the New Game - Continue - Load menu, The game starts up and the music begins and after the Bethesda Slide disappears I can vaguely see the Obsidian slide before the game crashes and then windows begins looking for the problem. I don't know what I did wrong. The load order is below along with my spec requirements (although everything was running just fine before I installed EVE, WME, WMX, FOOK, and the convergence mods (along with the compatibility packs) Load Orders are in the PNG files t I also had a problem with FNV edit which was an error as after all masters are added to the Merged Patch the error code is: [0700084C] <Error: Could not be resolved> I dont know what the deal is with it but I will just post it here anyways. BOSS has been runned... And yes... I dont know what else I can tell you other then my system specs and that Nexus Mods has been updated... along with that IWR is a mod to remove Invisible Walls (Invisible Wall Remover)... System Specs - Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E7400 2.80 GHz RAM: 4.00 GB (3.00 GB usable) System: Windows 7 32-bit Graphics Card: NVIDIA Geforce 9500 GT (1.00 GB VRAM) Display Mode (Monitor): 1920 x 1080 (32 bit) (60Hz) Any help is greatly appreciated, I dont think its the problem with FNV edit yet it could be (searching up that error code did nothing) although I think I messed up with the load order or something else is wrong... Don't forget that when PN-FOOK Convergence Read Me told me to disable certain plugins the game still crashed, although after re-enabling some I thought was the problem the game would last about 2 seconds longer from the original crash point and then it would crash. Your help is greatly appreciated

Okay now for some reason I'm not getting a bounty at all in skyrim... I've attacked guards and when i sheath my sword they keep walking on, but if i kill like 2 or 3 and i sheath they'll keep trying to kill me so i run away, use invisibility, wait till I'm safe then go talk to the VERY guard that was just shooting at me and he just gives me some random dialogue.... I'm using a custom race because i want to use my custom animations, the custom race is CustomNord (Yes CustomNord, i don't want to break the lore of the game by putting in some random type of being). Can someone here explain why? I did have reener's crime overhaul, realistic crime radius, and life in prison, but i ended up uninstalling all of them because they weren't exactly working....

People I need help! Basically I've been trying to fix PCEA on my game cause I thought it wasn't working when I saw every other NPC using the same Sheating I was using (I'm using YY Anim Replacer). I really want that sheath to be for me only.... Seriously I kind of want to play this game as a loremaster. Thats why when i used custom races (cause you have to) I got this mod that basically copies all races and makes those copies Custom"Insert Race name here". So I was playing as a custom nord and everyething was looking fine, until i realized that every NPC could sheath their sword the same way as me... I'm so mad at the fact that every single person knows how to do a super advanced sheathing and it destroys the role playing value for me... So bascially I'm wondering if there is a mod or a change I can make so sheathing and unseathing can be for my character only because PCEA doesn't help with sheathing animations...
