I'm going to wait a bit. Tried the new update, and it did completely destroy my game. I, however, am a computer expert if you will and had the forethought to back everything up, so I just reverted back to previous NMM version and re-installed my mods (194) and am rolling on. Yes, cost me a few hours of tinkering but that's what modding is essentially about right? Messing with your game and it's files to achieve something. So, all in all, love the work you do, but must ask this one question of you all at "Nexus": Why the continued updates to NMM? I am happy to see them but must wonder if it isn't broke...why mess with it? Skyrim is what? 4 years old? I've seen very stable NMM versions yet wonder why the need to continue to attempt improvements to it at all? NOT that I'm against it at all (and I'm a paid supporter of this site so I'm glad to see my investment being utilized by continued improvements) but I'd say, in my own opinion, get a stable and good version of NMM working for Skyrim then leave it be. Seems you'd encounter less headache that way.

In response to post #27772820. #27773245, #27785260, #27787150, #27827605, #27828245, #27828875 are all replies on the same post. I'm 44 been gaming since 1977. Used to be a 'Man's' only land (boys if you like). Now, in games like Skyrim, Fallout, Mass Effect, World of Warcraft, Counterstrike: Global Offensive (that's right a FPS game) and many many others....I meet and see women gamer's all the time (my daughter, 23 and a new mother has been a gamer since age 5). This hobby as become all inclusive and more and more diverse over the years. I, for one, and happy as hell women play these games with us as it has helped to destroy the myth that only 'kids and little boy's' play video games. I even get my butt stomped regularly in 'StarCraft II' by women and to me....it's oddly refreshing.

As my comrade "TheGieloo" has asked, if that disc was used by your friend then it's registered to whatever STEAM account he registered it on. It will be nothing more than a coaster for you. You can buy the DLC on STEAM relatively cheap most times, so look there.

And to continue on this point by Vesuvius1745....when I give my $$$$ for anything in this world be it new tires, PC parts, cable T.V./internet, books, food, games, music, etc. I HAVE the right as a paying customer to offer my critique or displeasure or ANYTHING with what I paid for if it doesn't meet my expectations as a customer. I don't have to be a tire manufacturer to offer my opinion that I like Firestone better than the other brands. You make no sense man in your argument. You act as if we are indebted to Bethesda and I can assure you it's the other way around. Kudos given to Vesuvius1745. -

It's not about lack of love or faith. It's about common business practices. A business remains a business as long as it can "TURN A PROFIT" and when it can't no longer (ATARI, Commodore, SEGA, etc.) then it stops becoming a business and becomes a share holders nightmare. All of this is just theory talk...but in the back of my mind I remain cautious about what the future holds. -

In response to post #24875184. I'm in agreement with mjmercer. I have over 200 mods...but am using I THINK at last LooT count was "172 Active." I'm going to donate for the ones that meet the following criteria for me: Change the game in such a way that it makes me re-roll a new character to play. Doesn't break my game or cause me tons of issues whether my own fault or the mod makers. Is innovative and creative but retains the lore of The Elder Scrolls." Is purely fun. These mods I'll gladly give donations for as they have made my 2011 game a major staple of my library since. -

This whole ordeal has infused me with more respect for Mod maker's as well as Mod users. As you can see I re-subbed my membership on the "Nexus" and am a Premium member. Now, I'm going through all 177 of my installed mods/enb's and starting to donate to authors what I can afford too. It will take me approx. 5 months to get them all squared away, but without mods and Robin and the mod authors and users AND the "Nexus"....games that I play would have been shelved/sold (my box copies of games like NWN 1 and 2, etc.)/deleted long ago. I've commented during this debate and mostly have met with intelligent members and counter points and people who are just down right mean and nasty and stuck in "Conspiracy Theories". It all made me sick trying to intelligently communicate the facts. I say we drop it all and just.....in the words of my favorite Vulcan "Live long and Prosper." -

People seem to forget that while the Nexus has the Modder's here making mods for us, the community, many of us (myself included) are NOT mod makers but we ARE troubleshooters. I have an EXTENSIVE record on the "Claralux" forum and on several others (including "The Wilds ENB") of troubleshooting mods for users and authors (MGE, maker of Clarlux and several other mods, added me to friends and E-mails me w/e he can about life, etc. Good man David is). Now, why am I stating this? Because other friends of mine such as Phantompally, Startrooper, etc. have also donated HUNDREDS of hours and our time helping users and mod makers alike. So, not to toot my own horn but to clarify, as members of this community we have a voice as well. While I may not have made any mods, I can still fix them when they break and help others on installation, troubleshooting, etc. I see some posts where people are saying "well you don't make mods so your opinion doesn't count". WRONG!! It does. -

Of course he's a Brit so he may not like the hard stuff but he'll love the food. -
