You can use your Companion as a pack mule or store your parts for crafting in a container next to your workbench at the lucky 38. Both have to be added by purchasing them from the terminal in the suite. I dont know if you know this but you can use camp fires to make things as well, and lets just say that every oven in Fallout is salvaged or destroyed. :P

The computer doesnt have to use all 6gb of ram at once, it only uses what it needs from the programs you are running. You hard drive seems alright, all I can think of is another background program is interfering or its your memory. I have no Idea how you ran into this Aro 2011 program when I specifically said the program name was speedfan, and why download it? I dont even see Aro 2011 on the speedfan website.

Yeah, that code 0xc0000005 means that its a memory violation error. I would check your hard drive further status to see if its causing the problem. I had the exact same error when my game was crashing, all I did was a clean re-install of windows 7 on a new drive. A lot of my software is working better now and Fallout doesn't crash anymore. Download Speedfan and select the S.M.A.R.T tab then select perform online check. If there is nothing wrong with the Hard drive then it might be the Ram. Fallout uses around 1.5-2Gb depending on the settings/quality.

Well if your game never crashed with all those mods it can be a couple things, Either you corrupted the game, a program interfering, installed the wrong mod, or it can be a faulty drive. What about your hard drive? How old is it and what company is it? Ex: seagate, Western Digital, Samsung? You may want to check on your hard drive, even new or old it can be faulty or broken. Before going into that right away I want to see the details of the error,(the game error), from the Event viewer. If any other games or programs are acting up it can be your HD thats causing the problem. Just type Event viewer in the start menu search box and look for the last time your game crashed. Should be under custom views, admin events.

Fallout and Dragon age are two completely different games. Fallout can crash due to a number of reasons, and one of those being mods. If your mods are disabled and fallout is still crashing then it can be your hardware or a program interfering with it. The next time your fallout game crashes check the event viewer and look at the details. Also Have you ever reinstalled the game at all or validate the files?

Fallout3.exe - Application error
SteelPipboy replied to MalachiDelacot's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Troubleshooting
I had a major CTD problem that I couldnt get rid of and tried every solution possible. Last thing I did was re-install the OS on a new drive, since I found out the last drive was a little faulty. Next thing that happens the game works perfectly and I can play it without interruption. I would recommend Checking your hard drive to see if there is anything wrong with it. Then buy a new one and re-install the OS, with service pack 1 right away. -
Fixed :D

0% for flying grenade in VATS
SteelPipboy replied to zanmi's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Troubleshooting
I never knew that was possible. I dont know of a fix but looking at the other comments and with my experience dealing with Osbidian's development and updating. They dont do it so well, something that needs to be improved on their part Imo. You can try to shoot a flying grenade or missle without vats if you have a sharp eye, just a suggestion XD. -
Sorry for the long wait but, I re-installed windows on a new drive. The drive that my game was on isnt in the best condition so maybe that was interfering with FO3 and new vegas. Im not sure if a faulty drive can cause a memory violation error but a friend of mine suggested to use the newer drive.

Lower your graphic settings on Fallout 3, as for the CTD's Im still trying to figure out whats causing it and finding a fix. Here is a possible solution for a CTD Here

The only other errors I see hours before the crash are these... The UPnP Device Host service depends on the SSDP Discovery service which failed to start because of the following error: The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it. DCOM got error "1068" attempting to start the service upnphost with arguments "" in order to run the server: {204810B9-73B2-11D4-BF42-00B0D0118B56} Service 'WMPNetworkSvc' did not start correctly because CoCreateInstance(CLSID_UPnPDeviceFinder) encountered error '0x80070422'. Verify that the UPnPHost service is running and that the UPnPHost component of Windows is installed properly. The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: RxFilter These Errors happen every time on startup.

Sometimes I cant even leave rivet city once I make a save there. In fallout new vegas It will crash for the same reasons.

There is this annoying random Crash to Desktop depending on what it is it can vary from an animation to steam Im not sure whats causing it until today. Ive tried "Every fix" possible and it still crashes. EVEN on New Vegas there is that same "F-------" CTD. Here is the error from windows event viewer... Faulting application name: Fallout3.exe, version: 1.7.0.3, time stamp: 0x4a40f18b Faulting module name: Fallout3.exe, version: 1.7.0.3, time stamp: 0x4a40f18b Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x000dd595 Faulting process id: 0xc6c Faulting application start time: 0x01cbd6f3e6c98b59 Faulting application path: E:\Steam\steamapps\common\fallout 3 goty\Fallout3.exe Faulting module path: E:\Steam\steamapps\common\fallout 3 goty\Fallout3.exe Report Id: b98f448f-42e8-11e0-a902-005056c00008 If anyone know about the codes listed or a "working" fix please let me know.

oh ok, Ill try that out. Thanks

Its a simple, Noobish question but Where is quick save option? I see it used in game all the time and I havent found in the menus.

This might be a spoiler for other so Im making the topic here. Well I have reached the end Where I have to take out the last of the legions leaders Legate Lanius for the all or nothing quest. I thought this would be a fair boss fight but apparently not. He packs a ton of health and has some body guard back up rushing towards me. My character is lvl 27 so I thought I was ready. Ive tried everything, from powerful laser weapons to high explosive weapons. All failed and even my companions failed, some great securitron huh. There is a more fair way to defeat him which is impossible for me since I dont have speech at 80. He can be talked into fighting one on one which should be a lot easier to manage, there is also a barter option which does nothing. Other than that you can be screwed, oh and dont even try using a Fat man because it just wont work out. I think this could be fixed if Legate was nerfed a bit or more securitrons can come with instead of one. So does anyone have some suggestions and opinions to turn the table?

Ive been having this issue for awhile now, when I play Fallout 3 or New vegas theres always a crash to desktop after an hour of playing or during a save/load. The only time the game will work is when I play it in windowed mode but I really want to play fullscreen. Ive disabled several programs that might interfere but the game still crashes!

game crash while in rivet city.
SteelPipboy replied to SteelPipboy's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Troubleshooting
Ive fixed the problem using the command movetoqt in the console. It moved my character to the quest location and I was able to enter and leave rivet city without any problems. I think what causes it is one of the Dlc for the game, If you have the game of the year version. -
The game was just working fine until after I completed mothership zeta expansion. I fast traveled to rivet city to do some business. Then I try to leave the place but the game crashes when it loads. What happened?!?

Favorite F3 moments, what are yours ?
SteelPipboy replied to manho221's topic in Fallout 3's Discussion
I was roaming around the DC area with my railway rifle, v2. I walk up some stairs leading to a bridge and I come face to face with a super mutant. The only thing I did was what I do best, shoot it in the head. When I decapitated it, I notice the head was pinned to a nearby wall. -
random minimize lockup
SteelPipboy replied to SteelPipboy's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Troubleshooting
Does that mean playing on a 64 bit OS will be part of the cause too? -
