  1. Hi!

     

    Part of my mod requires the player to be completely by himself with no help from followers in order to overcome a trial. I have looked around and didn't find a way of doing this and I can't remember a quest in Skyrim which does this as reference...

     

    How do I go about doing this? Either via "You must dismiss your companion before continuing" or dismissing them automatically via a quest script?

  2. Is there a mod out there that will specifically keep a hotkey not affecting your right or left hand? For example, if I'm a battlemage/spellsword, and I hotkey spells, is there a mod out there that will make it so these hotkeys will specifically equip and unequip these spells for my offhand, instead of removing my sword from my right hand when I try to press the same hotkey twice?

  3. I remember coming across a mod a while back that made it so your characters muscle progressed with your level, so you start out week but by the end of the game your big and buff. I also vaugly remember a similar mod that would let your character start out kind of short, and get taller as time progressed.

  5. Hey!

     

    I've been working on my mod for a long time now but something weird happened today... when I tried to save, it crashed during the saving process and left behind a .tes file. I read that its a backup so I rewrote .tes and .esp and it loaded up, but it was missing weeks of work... Loading the non-renamed file works, but it ALWAYS crashes on saving.

     

    So I loaded a previous version, tried to save and it worked... I still don't know what happened so my choices are:

     

    1) Merge the latest file which contains the new changes but is missing old content with the previous backup (how do I do this?)

     

    2) Manually copy the stuff out of latest version into a new mod, then import that stuff into the previous version (is this safe?)

     

    What do you think I should do? What do you think causes a crash on save?

    Edit: Apparently the backup deleted all my quests and outfits, but kept the dialogue files/entries and actors.

  6. Hey guys!

     

    So, I'm trying to add packages to animals and idlemarkers to my landscape so they use them often and appear more lively. However, I can't find how to add these new idles to the markers. I've dug as deep as I could and this is what I see:

    I see that there's an existing marker for the Sabre Cat's lie down idle, but that idle doesn't even show up on the SabreCat's idle list. Digging deeper into the list of animations and behaviours of the cat reveals that exact idle under the same name.

    So why doesn't it show up on that list? It seems that only idles in the category/branch "LOOSE" appear there, and I can only add those Loose idles to the idle marker... soo... HOW did they add that idle to that marker if its not under the category loose?

     

    In order for me to add the, let's say, SitDown idle to a marker, would I have to edit the vanilla SabreCat and add that animation to the Loose category? Wouldn't that make my mod extremely unfriendly to others?

    Does anyone know how to properly add any idle to that list so I can make my own proper idle markers?

  7. So I suppose you'll focus on lan first? That's good.

    Don't bother too much with balancing and quests just yet, I'd say. Make sure everyone is synched, along with other actors and items in the world. For quests, I'd suggest making them update to all players in the game (given its a lan hosted session). Don't worry about loot distribution, if you're playing with friends, you can discuss that between yourselves.

  8. When you start Oscape, put a tick at Skyrim.esm, as well as your own esm/esp. Select your worldspace and extract the surface textures and features.

    Once it generates the heightmap, change the dropdown box from Heightfield to Surface. If your textures are showing, go ahead and generate.

    I love you right now! That solved my brown lod terrain bug!

  9. Hi!

     

    I'm trying to have a scene where one of the actors - the player - goes unconscious for a while (about 10 seconds), but so far my results have not been good.

    I managed to make them go ragdoll with PushActorAway() but as soon as their body comes to a stop, they get up right away, which is not what I want here.

     

    Do you have any suggestions on how to make this happen? I don't want any visible effects from magic either....

     

    I tried SetUnconscious() but the actor still got up... (Testing it on an npc atm)

     

    Any ideas?

  10. Can anyone recommend a good combat balancing mod? I don't want an overhaul, I'm just getting sick of nine out of the ten bandits in a cave dying to a single swing, but then the tenth takes fifty before he goes down. The dance between Master/Legendary/Blacksmithing/Enchanting is getting old.

    Actually makes the glass in the armor transparent.

  11. Hi!

     

    I just finished a major milestone in my mod and I was trying to give my mod to a friend so he could test it on his machine. I grabbed all the scripts folder, meshes and textures and gave it to him. However, it seems most things were broken when he tried it out...

     

    Is there a way to properly package a mod? The CK function seems broken...
