  1. The only one I can recall is from my newest build. I was doing Hircine's quest to kill the unicorn. With companions. The little bastard kept hearing my companion and bolting. So I thought "I'll fix you." and left to up my destruction skill. I finally get it to 100 and get Midas' Nuclear Blast spell. "I'm huntin' unicowns, <elmerfuddlaugh>." I say as I sit on a rock a distance away from the grove. When I get a good aim on him I let the spell fly. The unicorn got hit dead on, and flew straight up over the level of the trees. The spell took out two grove minotaurs that happened to be standing around as well. I LMAO thinking "Yeah, I'm sure that's what Hircine had in mind when he gave me this quest." tl;dr - nukes + unicorns = lol
  2. I do indeed have the companions mod. I was just curious if anybody else had done the quest and successfully given any of the crusader's stuff to a companion? I ask now because I really loathe the wayshrine wanderfest, and would avoid it if the reward is armor that is just going to sit around collecting dust anyways. Edit: Duh. Why didn't I think of this before? I had a previous saved character from the first time I played Oblivion years ago that had done the Nine quest. I booted it up and found a companion to try the armor on. It seemed to work just fine. Ah well, at least this topic is now in the search queue where it wasn't before (hence the initial reason for me making this thread).
  3. Wow, I guess I'm unique in my beginnings. I almost always immediately fast travel to Bravil, join the Mage's Guild, and start legally looting the place until I find a Silver Urn for the Midas Chest spell so I can carry as much crap as I want. Plus I just love how cheerful the Guild vendors are when I sell them back their own stuff. Not to mention the Mage's Guild vendors are the biggest pushovers when it comes to the mercantile slider. Then I join the Fighter's Guild and do the same thing. Then I move to the next town. After a couple of hours I have about 5,000 gold... and a lot of empty guild halls. :whistling: And I've never once gone to Vilverin at the start. I was always afraid of the cliffracers, er I mean slaughterfish in the lake.
  4. Maybe one of you would know this. My character is a pure mage, and as such has no real use for the Crusader's Relics. However, his Warrior bodyguard could use a shiny new suit of awesome armor. My question is: can I give the suit of Crusader Armor to him, or is my player mage the only person who can wear it? As an aside, both of his armor skills are crap, so the relics would default to heavy armor. It just so happens that heavy armor is the bodyguard's highest skill.
  5. I remember that mod. I liked that one, but for some reason I didn't use that one this go around. Update: I tried deactivating every single mod, and the game started up! Yeah! So then I activated a single mod and starting the game to see if I could find a problem. After about an hour, I went through them all. The game started just fine with every single addition. I got to the end of the list and it still started fine, albeit with the "This save relies on content no longer present" icon. Even with all of the mods active again, It still started up and and gave me the 'ill Omen of Unfunctionality. "I wonder which one wasn't working? Ah, who cares... let's play!" Cut to this morning, and the game is back to doing the same thing as before. CRAP! So I go through the mods AGAIN. Finally tracked it down to a Supreme Magicka plugin that BOSS said I might not need. I messed with that last night and the mod didn't give any indication that it was the culprit. Weird. Now Oblivion seems to be working again. Perhaps too well now, as it doesn't want to exit the game after I tell it to quit. I have to exit it through windows task manager. Screw it, I'll pick my battles and live with it. lol. Thank you for reading my :hurr: .
  6. I'd be curious to know whether it would also happen if you fast traveled somewhere else? Or if you simply walked to the gate if the game would still crash in the same spot? Do you have mods on Chorrol that would conflict with the destination spot?
  7. Hey all, Of course my first post in here has to be a problem. Sigh. Anyways, I have issues... er I mean game issues. I was playing lalala, starting up a new character to try something new. I got a bit off a lag, so I instinctively saved the game. Soon after it crashed to desktop. No biggie, it's happened before. I go to restart OBSE (OBMM was already running) and observe a black screen for 2 seconds (as per usual), and then I get to see my lovely wallpaper again. Huh? So I try again. Same result. I try restarting my computer. Same thing happens. Now my first instinct was 'mods fault!'. But no, I was playing with the exact same voluminous amount of mods both yesterday and today with no problems whatsoever, so that shouldn't have done it. Then I thought 'crap, my video card (9500GT) died?' So I tried loading both Fallout 3 and New Vegas. They both ran perfectly fine. I also tried running the most HD video I could find... still OK. So it's not that either. So yeah, I'm stumped. I haven't tried to reinstall anything, seeing as everything was working just fine for the week since I picked up my 'borrowed' katana and starting slaying rats and goblins after a long gaming hiatus. Any ideas from you fine folk?
