Yeah, that's the technique I discovered as well. I contacted Daimodder or the "Word of Mod" and they said, "It is possible. You can ‘Open’ any daimod file, and then you just need to go to the file that was changed and export the texture/EBX/whatever. It’s quite simple, actually." Unfortunately, either I'm incompetent or it doesn't seem to be working right now. I get a crash and error message...

I'm trying to find this out as well. I just started to look into it. I'll let you know if I find anything.

Having the same issue myself. Has anyone figured out how to fix this? I was wondering the same thing. Oh wait, the folks over on the Steam forms said that you should "Turn off mods, and remove skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini" they especially suggest disabling ValsCraftingMeltdown. Which sucks because that mod is awesome!
