  1. Well, Terran Vampires just became the first mod I've seen that has successfully implemented calculus in its mechanics. Since everything is now based on maths, it guarantees compatibility with most other mods. Havens are being populated, but creating distinct yet genuine personalities is difficult for me, especially since dialogue in Oblivion is horrific to work with. It takes time to hone each NPC into just the right character, then 2 days later I'll end up reworking them again. The one thing that really puzzles me is how to implement the savants insanity. It needs to be intrusive without being annoying or breaking the game, but I can't think of anything that would work. As for a video... I lack the skills or tech to pull it off really. Screenshots are one thing, but understand that my laptop would go at 5 frames a week if it tries to run Oblivion and fraps ;)
  2. Thanks, I think that cleansers pic may be my best work ;) The cleansers are vampires, but the blood merchant is human.
  3. I've uploaded a picture of some Cleansers, since the other bounty hunters come from the regular Oblivion world and therefore use standard Oblivion equipment. Cleansers are a little more unique 8) Also, I threw in a pic of a blood merchant for you ;)
  4. Did you have anyone specific in mind? A clan elder maybe? Or a bounty hunter?
  5. I assume this is for a quest, so I'll make it part of a quest script. This script will work regardless of what type of script you use, but it was intended for a quest script. An object script could be optimized a lot further. Anything inside arrow brackets is something you will need to fill in yourself, because they use things specific to your mod that I dont know. Just fill in the reference ID of the thing inside the brackets ;)
  6. StartCoversation is the function you need As for the door opening part, it depends what you mean by "opened" On a load door, you can create a DoOnce loop that switches on a bool, which then starts the conversation. As for a door that swings open, you can do the same thing, but you will need a timer to account for the door opening. Alternatively, you can call GetOpenState instead of a DoOnce loop. Let me know which kind of door you have and I can whip up a script for you.
  7. Thats not a coincidence ;) You may even recognize the quote in the caption. When you are modelling a character after a bird of prey, you can't not think of AC.
  8. New pics :D There's no more havens to show, so if you want pics of anything else, or more pics of a certain haven, then put in a request here. If it's do-able and I get the chance, I'll whip something up ;)
  9. Protiva Havens are now created and populated. Because there are 3 havens, each semi-natural, there is not a whole lot to see. There is far more emphasis on the inhabitants. I will be doing screenies, but I can't right now. I will get them up ASAP ;)
  10. Dutch, I agree completely with your definition of a parasite, but there is a small contradiction in your arguement. You say that a patient has complete control over their body and that the foetus comes under that due to it not being a separate entity - by your definition of a parasite, the foetus is a separate entity, since a parasite feeds on another organism (a separate organism) from which it derives nutrients, causes detriment, etc. Therefore, it's not just her own body the patient is controlling. I agree with the rest though. A person has a right to have kids, but have the responsibility to ensure that the child gets a good life. If they cant do that, the parent should be able to prevent it. Syco, the people that you describe are not parasites - that label is just a metaphor. For example, a muscular person is a bear, a fast car is a beast, etc. These are not accurate labels in the strict definition but they convey certain characteristics very well. Cant do proper quotes on my phone, but you also said "if she refuses to decide then it's her own god damn problem" It's about to be a kid's problem too. If the parent cant decide or hasn't realised she's pregnant after 5 months, it doesn't bode well. But we cant just assume that abortions after 5 months are because of indecision - there may be a change of circumstances. What if she was reliant on a husband who leaves her and she can't provide for herself, let alone a child? I am not labelling any person, group or social classification to be "parasites", or anything else for that matter.
  11. You should include everything. Conflicts can occur in the most contrived ways. Also, the method of posting your load order that Hickory describes is probably best. In fact, Kragenir's death quest appears on your list twice. From what I see though, it's probably Vampire Hunting - Order of the Virtuous Blood. Try deactivating the esp then running up to a vampire ;) If it's not the problem, then try some blanket deactivation - deactivate large groups of mods and try out the game. If the vampire attacks, start reactivating mods until it stops attacking. You'll know what is causing the problem then.
  12. Generally, you can set the activator's "parent" to the secret door. If the door has an opening animation, the activator will open the door - otherwise, you'll have to animate it yourself. You can make it slide/rotate via script, or create a kf file for it.
  13. Disposition is controlled by factions and Personality attributes. If your personality is high then this may help cause them to be neutral, but more likely a mod has specifically made you friendly to vampires. I think Form Finder shows factions, but if you have any mods that directly affect all vampires then it is probably the cause. It's not likely FCOM, but any player vampire or vampire quest mods may be the culprit. Posting your load order may help
  14. New pics :) Its not a big haven, but keep in mind that this is just the leader's hideout. Wraiths have influence in a lot of places.
  15. You could try a trilogy by Phillip Pullman called His Dark Materials, the books being called The Northern Lights, The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass. A movie called The Golden Compass claimed to be based on the series, but rest assured: the movie is nothing like the books. It's barely even close. I guess it's not much like Game of Thrones, but there is a lot of depth to it. So long as you don't mind the volume of antitheism (anti-religiousness) involved, you will probably like it - it's great for essays of all levels too.
  16. The spell could be have a targeted scripteffect that adds Sun damage to the target as an ability, however sun damage on NPCs doesnt work. They will receive damage for a very short time, after which the effect ends - even though the ability is still there. You may be better off simulating the effects instead.
  17. Sorry I've been away, I've been doing a lot of arguing with a certain company regarding their courier services and their breach of contract. Won't say who, but they backed down after I brought in the big-wigs and threatened to press charges, so things are nearly back to normal. Wraiths will be getting shown soon. I'll try to get pics up by Friday. After that, I'll have finished Protiva and I'll be able to get you some pics of their haven(s) 8)
  18. It is one thing to end a life that is already assured to end due to terminal illness. It is another thing entirely to prematurely end a life due to that life being of "poor quality", in an attempt to prevent further suffering. It may start off with postnatal abortion of those with major life-threatening and constantly restraining diseases, but at what point is the line drawn? Harlequin-type Icthyosis? Spina bifida? Asthma? This kind of euthanasia is essentially a cull not unlike the mass infanticide allegedly committed by the elitist Spartan society, or the Nazi's attempts to wipe out those deemed "inferior". Then there's the various types of acquired syndromes and disabilities that could hinder a person's quality of life: could you justify euthanasia for full body paralysis? If so, what if they were paralysed just from the waist down? How about simultaneously acquired blindness and deafness, perhaps combined with loss of taste and smell? If we cannot draw a definitive line, no line must be drawn at all. You have to be dying in the first place. As far as terminal illness goes... I agree whole heartedly with euthanasia. One should be able to die with a little dignity, instead of drawing out the suffering and achieving nothing in the time taken to die anyway. There would need to be plenty of safety nets in place to prevent a patient being coerced into choosing euthanasia, and that it was always a last resort. No taking the easy way out due to depression when there is still a chance of survival down another route. The doctor in charge of your treatment should have veto power, although only a limited number of times before the case gets taken in front of some big-wigs, eliminating the possibility of bias/cruelty from the doctor forcing the patient to remain alive. I could go deeper, but I don't think I want to. It's a touchy subject for me. Besides, I can't even work out an answer in my own mind to half of the questions this brings up, let alone share them.
  19. Been away for a while, having to use the UNHQ's WiFi to post this :D Most of the jobs that young people get where I am from are not even official. They don't have job titles and aren't usually paid by cheque - it's all highly informal, like calling in a self employed plumber. Low paid, badly treated and usually told to leave with no notice - but it's something. As for what Vagrant said, in Germany there are more people with law degrees working in McDonald's than there are practising lawyers.
  20. Hehe I forgot to change the line of arguement from absolute autocrats to bad autocrats. Many British and French kings were highly sectarian, although to be fair I think everyone was either racist or sexist as well during that period, but people died because of it. The Tsar almost completely ignored his people and made a complete arse of the first World War. Stalin did modernize and revitalize Russia with his five year plans, but he was also responsible for the deaths of 60 million. Nero cut off a guy's testicles and married them. Still, I did exaggerate before. Bad habit ;) Autocracy is great when someone brilliant steps up, and they stay brilliant. When they let the power get to them, or are just arseholes in the first place, things go wrong.
  21. Bonus points if you spot the references to various films/books in the captions ;)
  22. Then you have the other extremes: totalitarianism, autocracy, and worst of all monarchy. The more power you give to an individual the harder it is to remove it. I would refer to Tsar Nicholas II of Russia, or Stalin while we're in that area, Emperor Nero of Rome and at least half of the British and French monarchs. I could go on, but I think I've made my point. A democratic government is probably the best way of doing things, at least on a national scale, so long as those in power are actually capable leaders. The problem may not lie with the system, but the leaders themselves. While it may not be absolute democracy, as in everyone having an equal say, it is still better for some people to have more power than others. Absolute democracy is like two wolves and a lamb deciding what to have for dinner.
  23. Madness is something a lot of modders have had trouble creating, myself included. Making it unpredictable and giving it consequences is hard to do without also making it tiresome and annoying. Also, it would hurt a lot of games when you are forced into something at the worst moment. As a plot device or a scripted sequence in a quest it works great, but once it becomes permanent then many problems come into play with no perfect solution. As a perfectionist, the thought of an imperfect feature in anything I create sends chills down my spine :P
  24. I was under the impression that anarchy was the absence of a government, stable or otherwise, and emphasized absolute freedom of the individual. That may be why it's difficult to create an anarchist government ;) Are there actually any anarchist territories in existence? I know attempts have been made, like in parts of Ukraine and during the Spanish revolution, but are there any truly stateless areas, without laws or government?
