Wow! I really like how the Orc looks. I never picked an Orc character before but maybe this will change :) Hmm.. ı think they made the Orcs look more "Human". It would be interrsting if they did the same to the Kajiit and Argonian looks.

[req] Unequiped items shown on character.

So I guess there is no mod that does this.. :( -
The only one I know is Grab Companion. Thanks a lot Huntragon! I will check it out.

Deadly reflex without the.... flashiness?
melkormgc replied to Skillet98's topic in Oblivion's Discussion
I also prefer a more "heavier combat" rather than ninja style. I like Luke vs. Vader better that Obi-Wan vs. Anakin. However, Deadly Reflex is the best alternative out there... -
Hi, I was wondering if there is a mod so that your companions walk together, side-by-side, with you (not behind you). Or perhaps in different formations. Thanks

Hi all, I wanna ask about two kind of mods: - AMBUSH: So I am walking in the forest and I am hit by an arrow. Someone keeps shooting arrows at me but I can't spot him. Then after taking cover, finally, I see the enemy bowman behind a tree, or behind bushes. And, no!, he was not invisible due to an NPC sneak mod, he was always there, Hiding!. - BOUNTY HUNTING - FOLLOW THE PREY: Ok, there are a few related mods I came across, but none of them are like what I exactly expect. The hunted is actually mobile! He knows he is hunted. One night, he sets up a camp, after a pursuit I finally catch up to him, he is sitting by the fire... I release my arrow.. If you guys know any mods that sound like these I greatly appreciate your advises!

Someone gave Civ V as an example for steam games (I know nothing about this steam thing). But I have a normal version of it. Just putting the CD in and playing it. Is this because that game has both versions in the market?

I hate these too!! They should get their hands off of TES!

Well, I try not to use it however, sometimes I have to follow a route that I've walked 100 times before. Or I do not like the quest and wanna be done with it so I speed it up by fast travelling. Or I do not want to lose the pace sometimes and I fast travel. But many times I want to enjoy roleplaying. I set up camps in the night. Put my venison and onion and tomatoes on the campire, eat them, repair my stuff, drink wine and sleep. However, it all depends on my mood. Besides, fast travel may not be logical but actually running through the whole country from one side to another in a day? Is that logical?

Homes that you can consider "yours"
melkormgc replied to DuckThor21's topic in Oblivion's Discussion
The camp site on the snowy Jerall mountains where some official mod put a mage tower. I do not use that plug-in. I have fought my neighbors, the guards of an oblivion gate nearby, and closed the gate. I have set up a campsite on the mountaintop. I decorated the surrounding area and bridge with lights and welkynd stones (Imperial Furniture). I made the closed oblivion gate a shrine to Martin Septim, with a throne platform. Sometimes, a few tamriel travellers pass from my domain, mostly, the mage. -
Nice but the arrows would fall out when running :)

You seem a little overwhelmed by these new ideas, one of which I started in a thread 'round these here parts. That being the possibility that VATS could be effectively used in melee. Take a deep breath and relax, man. It's all in fun, this playing-with-possibilities. It is how you create. Your tones are a little off, though. What's coming across to my mind, in this thread and in the one I started, is a pretty obvious disdain you have for people that like to talk about new ideas, as if we are being childish and don't understand a series that we are playing just like you (and in my case, playing since its inception). "Think things through?" Really... Ranting is all good and fine, but pretending to be superior is a crock. Did you understand the point of why I introduced VATS and Bullet Time discussions into the fray? I've only seen a lot of knee-jerk reactions and explanations that aren't very well thought out/developed, such as *paraphrasing here from another thread/post* "slow mo is only a modern thing and is never done in medieval games/films". The logic being that since it's never been done, it can't be done. If you would have thought about it more, you might have realized that it has been done before. Playing with visual/perceived speed is a cinematographic technique called ramping. I guess you have never watched 300 or Troy... :turned: My take on the whole VATS and/or Bullet Time thing comes down to locational damage selection (my personal least favorite) and/or aspects of slow motion combat (more fav), respectively. I don't know how you play the Fallout games, but mine are very hard, based around FWE and Arwen's Realism Tweaks, and combat is not an ongoing affair. It's much deadlier and to the point, like in reality. Bullet Time reflects heightened senses in reality very well. Time does slow down perceptually in real-life combat situations, and the same is true for hand to hand/melee fighting. I play with player damage in VATS, and usually don't ever use VATS as it gets me killed. I prefer Bullet Time. I would like to see melee more dangerous, like in reality. Bullet Time would fit in very well with a combat system that was, at least, a bit more complicated (Deadly Reflex-like) than the vanilla Oblivion system. To say that such an addition wouldn't be TES or wouldn't fit into the series makes me wonder just how someone views the differences that were introduced in TES IV after TES III, because character development was radically changed (whole weapon and armor categories were destroyed, the whole guild advancement system was dumbed-down...in fact, the whole experience was dumbed-down), horses were introduced, levitation was taken out, etc. Many could argue that TES IV was not in line with TES. This whole discussion could have happened six years ago...and it would have been wrong then, we can see that now, because the changes that were brought into TES IV obviously were/are part of TES, by definition. And one last note: remember, I'm talking about the Principles behind these mods/game aspects, not the things themselves. Obviously, in a fantasy world, we're not going to have a wrist-born supercomputational adrenalin-controlling fight advisor...such parallels are not necessary at all, and obscure the point of increasing the TES V combat experience. I want the game dynamics to be realistic. A sudden slowdown that makes no sense kills the immersion.

I really hate those mods where they have a girl looking like a 10 year old anime puppet carrying a sword the size of a cannon and screaming "nyah! hah!" like a hello kitty or something and when people endorse it saying "oh my god, that is such a great mod!".. I mean THAT is departing from the TES tradition..
-
Just checked it out. It seems to be a great mod and I believe I heard of it before, since it's so popular.. But unfortunately for me, it is not exactly what I was looking for. It would basically make my character look a little weird since he already has a backpack, quiver, and a bow on his back :) But thanks anyway for the help, please accept my kudos!
-
I'm sorry I meant "bow" but I typed "arrow". My bad.. So basically what happens for me is that when I put the bow on my character's back, the sword that hangs on his side disappears. Or when I have a claymore on my back and equip a dagger, the claymore disappears and I will have only the dagger and its hilt showing. Which is of course anything but realistic. I was wondering if there is a mod that allows you to see (at least some of the) the weapons that you are carrying on you even though only one of them is actually equipped. Thanks for the reply LittleSister and sorry about the confusion. I thought I saw a screenshot somewhere where it seemed like the guy had both his "real" swords showing, one on his back and one on his hand. But I might be mistaken. It would be really cool if I could do that though. Thanks for the reply Mahtawa!

I see pictures where people's characters have all their weapons showing. But I cannot find what mod does that. For example is there a mod that will show both the arrow on the characters back and the sword on the side (and a dagger) when they are all equipped? Thanks!
-
Great! Thank you very much WastelandAssassin! I will no longer have to go through pages of mods just to find the one I had added 10 minutes ago! :)
-
Sorry for this stupid question but I cannot find how to remove mods that I am tracking from the list at the tracking center in Tesnexus. It's quite annoying since I the majority of the mods I have in my 10 page list are those that I either already downloaded or tried! Thanks in advance!

What's all this talk about Morrowind? I have been playing the Elder Scrolls since 1996 (Daggerfall) but I do not understand this "Morrowind nostalgia". Of course Morrowind was a very nice game but what makes it so good? What makes it better than Daggerfall? What makes it better than Oblivion? Skyrim will be fine and it will have it's own flavor. It's crazy how an intermediating TES game is an all-time favorite for some. I guess I am a victim of the generation gap! (I am 31 only though! :) )

It's Dragonball.

Maybe they can do seasons like in Daggerfall, so sometimes everywhere can be snowy but sometimes not..

I checked it out on Youtube.. that's just not TES stuff..
