  1. I think a good example of how to do stuff with the receiving container could be at http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/42239/? Portable gadgets since it has a good framework already.
  2. I wasn't thinking an actual NPC follower so much as a summoning item a lot like the vanilla game's NCR Radio, that lets you call people in as a one time reusable item. That way you can avoid issues with NPC interaction or stuff like the DLC's no companions allowed, but still have it be something "realistic" in that it's a person taking your gear somewhere else, as opposed to an infinite wormhole bag that simply tunnels everything to a box somewhere that you've placed. If it's between one or the other for it actually getting made, though, I'll take a wormhole.
  3. Basically, I was thinking about all the people who make massive item containers for when you're moving around that carry thousands of pounds of gear, so that you can freely loot any and everything with no repercussions, and then there's the vanilla game's version of the dropboxes where things can get shipped between various points on the map. The problem is, the vanilla ones are completely and utterly useless because most people aren't even near those points in their normal play, and the mod containers are flat out cheat items that do not fit in with the game and remove a lot of the challenge of trying to inventory manage. So, I thought about a middle ground. The first thought I had was having an actual, literal courier service, where you had an inventory item that could pop in an NPC that you could offload stuff you wanted to send, or something similar, and then the destination would be a custom container you could place yourself, anywhere you like. I imagine that second bit is the hardest, but I know it's possible so it's up to creators to decide the best method for how they want to do it. You could have the basic function in place then make it an earned thing, like through a quest, and then have it need upkeep, like weekly caps or paying the courier for the amount of weight you send off. If anyone knows of something very similar to this, I'd appreciate a shout out on it. Ideas and such are also welcome.
  4. i'll tell ya that The New Bison Steve Hotel and Lucky Casino is anything but an item sink, it's a hefty investment in return for getting 3500+ caps every single week forever. the best way to do it is to modulate the cap find you get, which you can do with stuff like project nevada rebalance (which is great for a lot of things difficulty wise) or self impose challenges of how you can earn caps. you can also make it so you have to "pay" followers every so often but afaik there's nothing like that as a mod.
  5. I still can't play my game because of this. Has no one had any similar experiences?
  6. I just got a relatively stable load order going with all the mods I want, after having pared down on some of them, but now, every time I load up my save, this happens: 1. Enter new cell, different from original 2. Do things 3. Enter third cell, crash immediately. I don't know why it's doing this, and I've gotten a merged patch that seems to work alright. It only crashes when entering a third cell from when I load. 7. go and look at the mod Underwear, it creates underwear that ignores all other armors and comes standard on all npc's, as well as a couple of other features you could learn from. that should give you a guide.
  8. It appears after chopping out and combining some mods, I've gotten it to the point of relative stability. A couple mods seem to be acting up occasionally, but it's a lot better than it was.
  9. have you BOSSed your mod load order? some of those look out of place.
  10. Is there anything possible to drop me into a safe area, but still keep most of the functionality?EDIT: I want to keep a lot of what I have, obviously, is there anything that will let me do that?
  11. I've been modding Fallout: New Vegas for a couple of years now, only a month or so after the game came out, so I know my way around pretty well. Unfortunately, I never got the DLC's because I never felt they were worth the investment with all the free mods that had just as much content. When I did my latest round of mod installations and tried to work out what was compatible with what, I looked into Mission Mojave Ultimate Edition to get some bug fixes and general stability improvements done. So, I got all the DLC's just a week ago and installed them, along with MMUE. This was a cluster**** of epic proportions. At this point, I'll get random missing texture/meshes, textures that constantly flip between different files, and I can't open any inventories. My worst fear is I'll have to uninstall everything and go through one major mod at a time, but I don't think I'll be capable of that and I'll probably just get frustrated and give up. Has anyone had a similar experience, or can give me some guidance? I've got a pastebin of my mod list and load order here: Load order .
  12. are you using BOSS to make sure your load order is optimized beforehand?
  13. sometimes i debate going premium so i may actually be able to convince someone, against all reason, to help me with my mod addiction and subsequent harried mod lists. may do it after all.
  14. Well, that's saddening...it's a whole lot of fun. :( But if it's the problem, it goes away, I'll try that. EDIT: Well, since I hadn't had that problem before I'd been in the Mojave Outpost, and I'd been there before, I tried disabling Road Restoration Project, and it worked fine. Seems like the collision makes the cars bug out.
  15. Mission Mojave is incompatible with approximately everything, as it is meant to be the only mod in a basically vanilla game.
