  1. I tend to roleplay as a Xena type character (bad girl gone good), or as a framed adventurer whose curiosity got the best of her. It's how I justify my characters starting out in prison. I tend to join all factions and do everything with one character. But just because I'm a Dark Brotherhood assassin doesn't mean I go around murdering every NPC I can catch alone. A lot of the time, I'll start out simultaneously in DB and Thieves Guild, then move to Mages and Fighters Guilds and the Arena...going from sinister to good. Knights of the Nine wipes my Infamy away, and indicates that my character "found the light," so to speak. I'll probably do Skyrim the same way.
  2. Something has been bugging me ever since I saw the gameplay trailer, and I was wondering if anyone was thinking the same thing. According to Elder Scrolls lore, there are two (at least) known subspecies of dragon: red and black. So far, It seems that Alduin is a black dragon ("black wings in the cold"). The dragons in the trailer also look black(ish). What about the red dragons? The symbol of Tiber Septim and the Empire is a red dragon. Could it be that the black dragons are aligned with Alduin, while the red ones are aligned with Akatosh? It's hard to say for certain, because it is not clear whether Alduin is a separate entity from Akatosh, or if the Dragon God just has a split personality. Is anyone like me, and hoping there's a few good dragons thrown in there? What are your thoughts?
  3. I'm thinking more and more that the player is either the reincarnation of Tiber Septim, or that he/she is hand-picked by Talos or Akatosh. The former makes sense because Bethesda has already been that route with Morrowind, as the player was the reincarnation of Indoril Nerevar. Reincarnation also seems to be a big thing in the Elder Scrolls. Supposedly, souls are recycled in the "dreamsleeve." People go there when they die, and await a new body. Supposedly... Being hand-picked by Talos or Akatosh also makes sense. Talos seems to be a patron of heroes. So, perhaps his avatar will make an appearance in Skyrim, like when the player was about to go through the Ghostfence in Morrowind.
  4. Hi all! I'm new to the Nexus, but I'm a regular over at Planet Elder Scrolls. I'll likely play an Imperial female in Skyrim. They are surprisingly good at magic, stealth, and combat. I like to play well-rounded characters who dabble in a little bit of everything.
