500 Things You Learned in Fallout 3
spiritshadowx replied to soulknightX's topic in Fallout 3's Discussion
207: Once a dead body has been radioactive for a long time, mushrooms grow out of it, which look like florescent magic mushrooms. and i have Mycophobia... -
^-Agreed :D If like Fallout 3 (BTW, LOVE your sig pic ;D ) it's a reuse of the same engine, i'd guess at (for minimum) 2.3Ghz processor, 2GB RAM (hopefully multithreading will be added) , Any modern graphics card (I have a Intel HD and it runs Oblivion in an acceptable manner). Maximum... 50TB HDD (For savewhores) 30Ghz Processor 1TB RAM Nvidia insanely-expensive-but-we'll-give-it-a-fancy-name-to-sound-powerful-geforce 10 trillion or ATI Revolution+ 2000. I don't think there's any real graphical overhaul, maybe there will be small, medium, large and insane graphics, but i think they concentrated on making it different to Oblivion.

GAAAHHH!!! (if you thought i lost the plot, This wikipedia entry explains it.) Oh and if you've installed it on Ubuntu (by the SMALLEST of chance) search 'Oblivion' and it will come up as a WINE launcher.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAbuKGszziE I created this when i thought Oblivion looked similar to RuneScape. NOSTALGIA WARNING: If you played runescape sometime around 2002-08 (when runescape was actually good) then you will feel immensely nostalgic by the music. EDIT: I thought i should probably explain things better. I was originally going to compare it to the more recent RuneScape, but i don't have the UI for it, nor do i fancy ripping it from the game. Also, i couldn't tone the graphics down to meet Runescape 2008, so it looks like a modern olden cross. In the video, i draw similarities to the Camera angle (which often misalligned due to the lack of turning while in camera rotation), similarities to the world (looks like im passing Lumbridge castle... 3 years ago) and general feel. I was going to add a overhaul to the UI, but my video editor doesn't support moving objects, so the health bar/hit markers would float in trhe wrong places. I may make a different and more improved video soon, since the original was pretty much a test.

I've actually got to the point i've started UNINSTALLING mods to prevent this. xD

It's frustrating when you wait 10 or so minutes for your mod to upload, only to say 'A file exists with the same name'. It can sometimes be frustrating, and in a blind rage upload your private time folder upload the wrong file, or don't bother at all. It's very basic, but it can be a commonly missed change, which results in a long upload being denied. My idea instead is that rather than having the server realise a file exists with the same name, the new implementation of the green/red border check could be further used to check the names of previously uploaded files within the mods page in case the name entered is the same as one of them. I appreciate your time to read my rant, and will likely be ignored, but it was worth a try.

When you talk about choppy in VATS, does the cursor move fast or do you have a low frame rate?

I myself have never had G.E.C.K. crash (excluding when it can't find my recording device properties, it hangs then CTD) but have you checked you haven't set fallout3.esm as the active file? (in case you didn't know, that is all the ingame resources, so it shouldn't be modified) Also, make sure you haven't got any CPU/RAM intense programs running simultaneously as Bethesda stuff is known for crashing when it has too little resources to work with. Other than that i can't think of anything. And i'm pretty sure the load order will follow the load order of your game?

FALLOUT 4 LOCATION POLL
spiritshadowx replied to olafreinhardweyer's topic in Fallout 3's Discussion
Modern Warfare 3 has bagged London, so i doubt it will be in the next release. I would agree to NYC being in FO4. I've never been NYC but i know that i would love to walk through a destroyed Manhattan. I would also like to see other countries as DLC. Like you can take a plane (like bi-plane) to London, or somewhere like Nevada or the Grand Canyon that has a gigantic military base built on that you have to either join or take down. While that you can explore all the rocky landscapes. What i would love even more if there was a city you can travel to that hasn't been affected by the nuclear war, or at least has rebuilt. Like an oriental China that rebuilt in their traditional way, and you can explore a bustling city. Then you can do a mission storyline that sees the new China either destroyed by another nuclear bomb, or become a completely oriental place with traditional clans such as the Samurai and traditional clothing and weaponry. Or you could pump money into a shady clan that would rebuild a modern but corrupt China, where you can now get Tonfa's, Nunchucks, different Katana's, etc. I know Oriental China would fit more for Oblivion, but i still think it would be good to be slicing people up with Katana's in a modern world. -
Damn the directory... Damn it to Hell... I deactivated UAC and now it works fine though :3

Ah it might have been a one off issue, i'm glad it seems to be resolved

If you have Windows 7, make sure you're running OBSE_Launcher/Oblivion.exe as administrator. Not to treat you dumb, but that's what 'elevated privileges' is 9 times out of 10 referring to.

Another one I encountered, when playing the Thieves guild storyline Hieronymus Lex patrols the Waterfront with a heavy swarm of Legion soldiers. I find it hilarious how i managed to infiltrate his informant's house right in front of him, plant the bust, bribe him into trusting me, and framing his informant. If that was real life (technically speaking in a medieval era), I would've been greeted with a sword to the head.

Patrick Stewa *cough* Uriel Septim. His first comment made me laugh so bad, being the dirty minded man i am.

You want the same screenshot but without the graphic effects? My Oblivion is set to minimum graphics, but i can do it for you if you like?

Ever since i installed a mod for Anvil, a song keeps looping around the area which really increases the feel. I loved going there ever since.

<3 4 Tobuscus. The most epic video i've seen since i first watched ASDFmovie.

Teleport Markers vanished
spiritshadowx replied to spiritshadowx's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
Lmao and now they're back, thanks mate. Moral of the story: I need to sleep more. -
I seem to have managed to hide all forms of markers in the rendering view (including the one i need, teleport markers). Is there a menu button or a shortkey that hides markers? I might have pressed it by accident. Thank you.
