Yes, developers are retarded assholes. No other way to say it.

It would be cool , if you could leave stuff with your Power armor to only use them when using the power armor. Access the Power armor from outside the armor and throw your Minigun and ammunition into it. When you enter the power armor, the items get added to your inventory. When you leave the armor , the items will be stored in the power armor again (as long as they still exist). Would make weight management much easier and in survival you can spare some fusion core when searching for a bed without having to carry a minigun around with you.
