  1. Just ran the created patch through SSEEdit and it shows the created plugin (TRIW.esp) as being Form 44.
  2. Okay, that's an interesting point. Both True Realistic Item Weights and True Medieval Economy have been ported to (supposedly) to SSE but you are correct that Mator's MXPF is in the Skyrim section; however, (if I am understanding the process correctly) Mator only creates a script file (TrueRealisticItemWeights.pas) that is then run in SSEdit. Since the output is actually created by SSEdit, wouldn't that create the proper form? I'm a bit surprised that there were not any posts for either mod of anyone else having the same problem.
  3. I've been trying to enable a couple of mods from Nexus (specifically True Realistic Item Weights and True Medieval Economy). These require patching with SSEdit and Mator's Xedit Patching Framework. Creating the patch seems to work correctly. It completes without error messages. However the patch it creates (TRIW.esp) keeps giving a Vortex error that it is not a valid plugin. I would appreciate any insight on this. I have tried posting on the individual mod Posts pages but I haven't heard back from them. I want to make sure that it is not a Vortex problem.
  4. Thanks Rattledagger for that very clear explanation. I had a couple of other things going on as well, such as Archive Invalidation and not running as Administrator. I'm still running into some problems installing body replacers with Vortex, but I'm working them out. Thanks again.
  5. I am having the same problem. I haven't used Vortex in a while and when I came back there was a Vortex update which I installed. I have been trying to set up Fallout New Vegas. I am running the Steam version. Generally, I download a .7z file from Nexus but I don't immediately install it. Sometimes it's because the mod I want to install requires a number of files, so I download them first, then use Vortex to install them. However, the automation does not run properly. For example, on a clean install of Fallout New Vegas, the first mod I attempted to install was UIO - User Interface Organizer. In that .7z file, there are three folders labeled fomod, nvse, and uio. When I install it with Vortex, it places the nvse and uio folders in the Data folder as it shoulder; however, it also places the fomod folder there, which it should not. It seems like it is simply extracting what is in the .7z file to the Data folder. When I try installing the same mod with FOMM, the nvse and uio folders are correctly placed in the Data folder, but it correctly does not add the fomod folder to the Data folder. In addition, when I deactivate the UIO - User Interface Organizer mod using FOMM, the uio and nvse folders are removed from the game's Data folder, as they should. When I uninstall the UIO - User Interface Organizer mod using Vortex, all three of the folders (fomod, nvse, and uio) remain in the Data folder. The last time I used Vortex was on Skyrim, and i seemed to be working okay. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  6. Thanks Tamira. I'll look forward to looking at it!
  7. I started out with Carryable Lanterns and Candles, and that had the lantern laying down, which I wasn't crazy about, so I decided to mess with the mesh. And, as they say, the rest is history (and a lot of time spent, but what the heck? A hobby's a hobby, right?). Anyway, I'll let you know what I come up with.
  8. Thanks NexusComa! I did look at that mod, and may end up using it. However, I got on this modification kick, and I really want to find out HOW it is done. No sense reinventing the wheel, I guess, but I just want to know why it rolls :wallbash:! But thanks for the heads up!
  9. Thanks nhguy for your input! I did something similar, but one thing I will have to go back and try that I didn't do was to dupicate the text strings. I did the rest with the flag values, but as I mentioned, the lamp gets dragged along on the floor by the character's feet. I'll try the text strings and let you know. Nice screen shot by the way!
  10. I had this under Mod Talk, but it might be better here. I'm trying to create a mod to make a portable lantern. I started out with using someone else's mod, but I didn't like the looks of the lanter. In the CK his lantern is listed under Lights>Weapons. I created a duplicate from that lantern, then I changed the nif to a CandleLantern that I liked; however, it was a static object, and now my lantern was no longer listed under Lights>Weapons but under Static. In gameplay, the lantern looks fine sitting on a surface, but when my character picks it up and tries to equip it, the lantern moves along with him but it is on the floor between his feet. I assume it's because I used a nif from a static object, but I am wondering if there is any way to change the model from Static to Weapon.

  12. Weird. I just started a new game and it has everything the way I remembered it way back when with Sunny in midrif halter top and female Powder Gangers. I'm running Project Nevada as well as FOOK and I'm also using Body by Race. I could see Sunny's outfit begin changed by Body by Race, but how the heck did I end up with female Powder Gangers all of a sudden?
  13. I kind of thought so, and you are right, it probably was a mod. May have been the same mod as what added the clothes thing for Sunny Smiles, but that's why I was asking if anyone else ever ran into a mod like that. I've been looking through mod descriptions for the last couple of days until I am crosseyed, but I can't find anything I recognize. Oh well. Guess I'll just have to go with vanilla.
  14. I was playing Fallout New Vegas a few years ago and got away from it. Now I picked it up again, but I can't seem to find all the mods I used to use. It seemed to me Sunny Smiles had an outfit that was like a blue open midriff thing. I sure liked that better than the clunky leather armor. In another line, I have been playing New Vegas with the Project Nevada mod. I have gotten all the way to Primm and up to the 2nd floor of Bison Steve's without encountering one female baddy. It seems to me there were at least some mixed in with Joe Cobb's crew, at Jean's Sky Diving, and at least in Bison Steve's. Anyone else ever run into this?
