  1. I believe you have to be at a certain level before the Rangers start wearing the armour however. So if you go to Golf and don't see any, level up a bit more.
  2. Since I had the same problem in 2 different games I decided that it had to be hardware related so I cracked open the case. Checked for any random damage, pulled the cooler off the processor and blew all the dust out, and moved each of my RAM sticks up one slot. (friend feels that one of the sticks is effed up, so we decided to change the pairings). ...and... Problem solved. What solved it? Not a clue. I just hope it lasts awhile. :P
  3. So I figured since I can't play New Vegas, I'd go back to FO3 and try a few mods. Got the same problem again with 3 minutes. As usual. :(
  4. Tried that also. I even turned it off and reinstalled to try and play an earlier version of the game, but it recognizes that its not up to date and wont let me play. :-(
  5. Read the book "Alas, Babylon." It's pretty old but definitely in line with what you're talking about.
  6. Is there a console command to monitor your FPS while playing?
  7. Like running around town in Dark Brotherhood Robes and no one attacks you? :)
  8. I guess the simple answer (or question) would be : Have you murdered an innocent? I usually got mine after killing the 3 women from the all womens game preying on the men in town. (Sorry. I haven't played in a while and I don't recall any names.)
  9. How do you do this? I notice that too. I would be so engrossed in the game working my way along a cavern, a corridor or whatever and just when I am about to do something --albeit crack a computer, turn a lock, or fire on some enemy, my companion(s) gets a kills and I am suddenly facing them instead of pursuing my intentional goal. It actually pisses me off every time that happens. In game -> Settings -> Kill Cam -> None should fix it me thinks
  10. Didn't work unfortunately. I timed it this time around and it lagged out after only 3 minutes of play. Is there anyway to reinstall and tell Steam to NOT update? When I first purchased NV, I took my cpu over to a friends to activate it with his internet, but Ive only had internet at home for a few months. Just wondering if a pre-updated version my play better for me.
  11. Thank you for the reply. I believe I already tried this once after viewing a YouTube video about facial expressions lagging the game. I'm going to try it again, but my choppiness or lagginess occurs whether there is another NPC on the screen or not.
  12. I'm copying this post over from the Bethesda forums where it sat all weekend with no replies. :( Hopefully I can find some help here. I realize that my system doesn't quite meet the system requirements but I've been able to play the game fairly well until recently. Just had to adjust the graphics down. Hoping to find some solution to this because after looking thru my computer and everything yesterday with a friend of mine, the processors and graphics cards I could upgrade to are basically not sold anywhere anymore other than on something like Craigslist. I simply cannot afford to build a new computer right now. Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated!!
