  1. Also, try having a look in your screen settings (resolution &c). If you have previously selected full screen and are trying to use a smaller screen instead, that could also be the answer.
  2. Hi I used to have the same problems with a mod I was writing for Morrowind; however I was NOT using Morrowind Overhaul, I did notice though that I had similar errors. What I would advise is that you look at the various files involved - it seems as if there IS a file for TR nifs. It has been some time but what I did was to build all those files from scratch, creating complete new files - including new *.nif files. as well as existing mesh files. When you have built one file, (use existing mesh files and create sub-directories for them)try the files out - Once I had this down, it worked for all the rest of my mods.
  3. If you can try NOT to use Staem - especially for modding! Are you using a Steam version of the gmae or what? It is very much easier if you load the game seperately, do your modding on that and then trasfer the mod to Steam (I don't know how but Steam may be able to help).
  4. Looking at your post (and that of other posters) all I can think is that your machine m,ay well have got a "computer virus" or indeed some other form of malware. The best I can advise is to find your Morowind saves (you should be able to find then in the Morrowind folder); then put them somewhere else - if you only have one drive, use a flash drive to put them on (If you have one). Next Uninstall Morrowind - thoroughly - making sure you have remove all hard drive entries as well as all registry entries - For Instance I use System Mechaninc, but you only need a good system that will clean, format and optimise your registry. As far as the hard disk is concerned - if I remember correctly, you have to manually remove the final few files yourself.. If this is the case, a good disk defragmenter is usefull and should be used at this point, next re-install the Morrowind gmae and then the save files. You should now find it works OK.
  5. Unfortunately, as far I can determine there is no way forwaard if you go via Steam. That system seems to keep all your settings for the game and loads them when you load the game. However, there is another way, if you are using a retail version of Morrowind (such as the GOTY); providing it is NOT a Steam version, you should be able to load it as a conventional game, and put in your required key bindings and so on as you desire. A word of caution though, follow the steps below before installing the game: Defragment your drive(s), this is especially important if you have not done so for a while.Run a good Anti-virus system.Re-boot the system and away you go.
  6. Hi! Themisive, thanks for the response. The antivirus program I use is VIPRE and is suposed to be very good. I have downloaded many mods from this site and this is the first time I get message of a Trojan Virus. This mod was downloaded from the Nexus, which I very much trust and the reason why I posted this message. Is it possible that someone can upload viruses into the site? Once again, many thanks The short answer to this is Yes. If someone has a system that is infected, they could easiy infect the website without your knowing of it - this even more of a problem if as is possible some people do not even try to use the anti-virus systems they have!
  7. This is a problem that I have encountered repeaedly. Firstly, I don't know waht anti-virus system you use. Also where are you getting the downloads from? Is it a file-sharing website? If it is the latter there is no wonder that you anti-virus system picks upp trojans - those sites are notorious for them. Have a look at reputable downlad sites. I'm quite sure you'll find what you're after there.
  8. Yes; I think your problem is caused by (probably) that Texture fix you added. Take it off and the system should run as normal - One other thing, please after you remove texture fix, do couple of other things, re-start your computer also run a good defrag proramme. If you havn;t got one, a good one is Diskeeper 2011 with Hyperfast - check on Google for Diskeeper
  9. Iv'e seen this problem beofere! That being said, my system is configutrtrd to ro run at netly 14GHz! All I can advise you to do is to the following; Defrag your hard drivev(S),Check all HD2s as well as any otherprogrmeses (especially ones onloaded) for viruses and malware.
  10. I think I see your problem, unfortunately this is NOT new prbelm! Unfortunately you don't say what version of Tamierl you have, as soon as you give me this info (use a PM) I'll get back to you
  11. I agree. this a common problem and is easily sorted out by uninstalling the original programme. If when you re-install the programme, this fault continues, check the registry for old files and remove them REMEMBER TO BACK UP YOUR REGISTRY BEFORE ALTERING IT!
  12. I full;y realise this, however I am trying to help some who is new to the system!
  13. The best way is to see if you can get this mod for steam. In your case I would certainly contact them to find out.
  14. I use both Morrowind GOTY and Oblivion, but there is one issue that people fail to take into account. Remember that Morrowind was Bethesda's FIRST foray into the windows system. prior to that it had all been on MS/DOS. Yes I know the graphics aren't as good as they could be; however you have a great storyline. If you can I suggest removing MGSO and just play the game as it is, and make your mods to suit that. If not I suggest removing all traces from your machine and then defrag it. Reboot and , DON'T use any other programmes like MGSE or MGSO. Granted by the time Oblivion came out there were vast improvements in the graphics, though the storyline suffered. To be honest, instead of trying to make an old game similar to Oblivion, just play it as it is.
  15. There's simple answer to your problem - I;ve had this before so I know the answer. What I tend to do is use the afternoon to make a mod, then in the evening i actually play the game. However there is a drawback. Quite simply as you use various files [especially the zip files] they tend to degrade. The simple answer is one I was scratching my head over until I asked for help. The person who replied suggested I use this particular defrag programme. It is Defrag 2, free and fast. Use it either before you play the game or after you have been making a mod. In either case I suggest using a really good defrag programme at least once a week ( use Diskeeper). With either programme you can select the disk(s) you wish to defrag - or even files!
