  1. Well, keep in mind that console fixes don't always work, and those that do usually require some rigging. Read up more here: http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Console_Commands_(Skyrim) (do a ctrl+F for "follower").
  2. BigBodZod is right (kudos, sir). No more late night console command posting for me.
  3. Make sure you click on the NPC after opening the console. You'll see a reference ID in the center of the console window.
  4. Your best bet is to contact the individual modders from which you got the .esp files. The fact is that the .esp files that are floating around don't always work for everyone, and they can even cause some pretty serious problems. Check with the modder that you got the .esp from, and when in doubt, delete the file and wait for a version that was generated by the Creation Kit (coming next month).
  5. This is fixable, and related to shadow settings in your SkyrimPrefs.ini I don't have the exact fix on hand, but I'd suggest searching around for Skyrim flickering shadows. Edit: It's not mod related, it's due to the way Skyrim deals with shadows (which is buggy in general).
  6. Try typing this in the console: player.placeatme 000A2C8E
  7. Open the console, click on the NPC you'd like to marry. Type the following: setrelationshiprank player 4 addfac 19809
  8. .esp files would be in the base of your Data folder. They do a number of things; some of them make hex edits to Skyrim's base files. Regardless, no existing .esp file was created with tools designed specifically for Skyrim. They all carry risk of corrupting your save files and causing CTDs. Don't trash your entire save folder, though. Usually, if you actually do have corrupted saves, backtracking several save files will fix the problem if the .esp files are removed.
  9. Starting a new character while running mods doesn't necessarily indicate that mods aren't the problem. Are you using any mods that are .esp files? Check your Data folder for them. If so, remove them from your Data folder and try to backtrack several saves, then see if that clears up the problem. Ideally, backtrack to the earliest save where you remember not having any problems.
  10. Have you installed any mods that are .esp files? If so, disable/delete them and try to backtrack several saves.
  11. Hrm... Try using the commands to advance the quest, then use player.moveto 0001DA41 to move yourself to Delvin in the Thieves' Guild.
  12. If you haven't already, try the 4GB launcher: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1013 There are a few comments about it not working post-1.3, but that hasn't been my experience. Without it, I crash any time I try to zone to an overworld area.
  13. .esp mods do a variety of things. Some of them make hexadecimal line edits to the game's files, which have the most potential to cause problems with the game to the best of my knowledge. The long story short is that the .esp files are currently created using tools that were not specifically designed to work with Skyrim. Most of them work fine, but there is a risk of causing saved game corruption. My personal advice is to only install those which you can't live without until the toolkit comes out. One thing you can try to do is create a backup copy of your working save, then gradually re-enable any .esp mods you have and see how it goes. Start with texture-based stuff if you have any, like enhanced blood or water.
  14. Have you tried using the 4GB launcher? It fixes many common CTDs: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1013
  15. NEVER tell someone to delete all of their saves. Potential fixes: 1. Update to 1.3. Are you using Steam? Steam has been known to CTD an .exe that isn't up to date. 2. Try using the 4GB Skyrim Launcher (http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1013) 3. Check to see if you are using any .esp file mods in your Skyrim / Data folder. If so, you may be dealing with save game corruption. Remove those mods and try to backtrack to earlier saves. Still no luck? Try this: 4. If the above doesn't work, move your Data folder and your saves folder to a safe place. Then, restart Skyrim. 5. Verify your base install works by starting a new game. If so, quit out. If not, uninstall via Steam or the Control Panel and then reinstall via Steam or your disc. Patch all the way up to 1.3 6. Restore your save files and verify that they work. If the most recent one crashes, try several back. Be thorough. 7. Restore any texture mods. Do not reinstall any .esp mods at this time.
  16. Honestly? Adjust the sliders until you get what you see. Given the popularity of her textures, Bella can't be expected to answer every inane question she's bound to receive. In reality, the best she could do for you is to post screenshots of her chargen sliders, which is about as scientific as you just eyeballing it. Skyrim's chargen really isn't all that robust at the moment. You shouldn't have much of a problem getting close to that look. Reduce your game's resolution, set it to windowed mode, and compare your character with the screenshot side-by-side.
  17. A word to the wise: never assume something is simple if you aren't able to do it yourself. In terms of teaching you, you're talking about a retexture. Skyrim uses .dds files for textures, which can be edited using Gimp or Photoshop (though both require separate plugins, and trying to do anything with Gimp is a hassle). The remainder is a combination of creativity and software-specific skills.
  18. You aren't limited to bashing or sitting there and waiting during the slow. You can get off a shout or a power attack of your own. That makes Block extremely interactive, as it makes blocking a means of setting up moves you might not have been able to safely perform otherwise. At any rate, best of luck with your request. It would've been smarter to post this once the dust settles after the CK hits. You're looking at a minimum 4-6 weeks for that, at which point this thread will be absolutely buried.
  19. Unless I'm misunderstanding your request (entirely possible), you can pretty closely achieve this (and more) with Quick Reflexes in the Block tree.
  20. No problem. Some of the FXAA profiles are nice, but none of them are really perfect. Your best bet for ramping up visual quality with minimal performance loss is to keep upgrading the textures, as you've been doing. I would suggest doing incremental backups of your Data folder... In the unlikely event that you find some textures actually give you a negative performance hit, you can easily revert. Or just use the Nexus Mod Manager, I guess.
  21. The FXAA mod is a post-process shader, meaning it makes use of (depending on what settings your profile uses) highly-sophisticated and demanding shader effects that are rendered after Skyrim's base graphics. It's basically a bloom on steroids. As such, it has the potential to cause tremendous performance loss. It really depends on how you have FXAA configured. Some settings are more demanding than others. The other mods you mentioned are primarily texture upgrades, and unless you're in a situation where you're really hurting for RAM, those generally aren't going to produce a noticeable impact on your FPS... Though they can impact your loading times. At 2.0 GHz, your'e also already pretty CPU capped for running Skyrim on high settings, as far as I know.
  22. The problem with Skyrim is that outside of leveling and perks, nothing you do really changes your character or affects the world around you. The Jarls get swapped around after completing the civil war quest, but frankly, the country didn't even FEEL like it was in the midst of a war to begin with. The game is pretty much a big, beautiful sandbox that you're free to play in... But it lacks even basic character development outside of the scenes where you're talking to Parth. Honestly, though, the game is so good otherwise that it doesn't bother me unless I really focus on it.
  23. This is actually one of few requests that could be feasibly done at the moment, as the mesh currently exists in vanilla.
  24. Possible, yes, but it's best to wait for the toolset. Hex mods, in my opinion and experience, carry some risk of save game corruption. Wait for the real deal.
