I was having the same problem with MO1 where some times the mods would download fine and other times they would give that odd range error. I checked the mod archives that reported the error and they looked like they downloaded completely. My band-aide to the problem was to rename the two files (archive and meta) for each mod and reported the error removing the unfinished tag, edit the meta file changing the "paused" flag from true to false.
