  1. I want to make the items created by the alchemy lab to be classified as 'ingredients' and not as potions. Is this possible? What script controls the alchemy protocols? It's not in the CK, right? My aim is to reuse those manufactured ingredients with other ingredients to develop more complex combinations. Ingredients, including the complex ingredients, would then be combined with food or drink at a cooking pot to make true potions and magic cakes and such. Not only will this prevent an abuse of potion drinking when combined with the Realistic Needs & Diseases mod, but also allow me to pursue a system of spell discovery by making magic inks to craft spell tombs. I have everything worked out; just need this one detail to put it all together (else the spell discovery mod will be a lot less spectacular). Thanks. .... edit .... Now that I think about it even this wont work. I need an alchemy lab to produce items I place in the CK (as you would do with a recipe for smithing, or enchanting). Right now, the potions created by the alchemy lab cannot be selected in the 'Required Item List' for recipes. This is causing me grief. I need the player to be able to craft potions that I have placed in the CK, but I wamt them to experiment with the ingredients to discover them. I like how the alchemy lab has an unknown factor to it, unlike the other crafting stations.
  2. Is it possible to make the difficulty slider affect the level of your opponents instead of the damage dealt and received? In other words, while 'adept' would mean NPCs are of equal level with you, 'expert' might mean they are two levels higher, with ' master' being four levels higher (and the reciprocal effect for 'apprentice' and 'novice'). It would also be nice if this would be compatible with level scaling adjustments made by other mods, but who knows. This is not a request, by the way (but feel free :D). I just want to know if it is possible (i.e. not hard coded in) and where I might look to get it going. I have absolutely minimal skill in modding ... but you have to start somewhere.
  3. I made a little mod for myself where named items have no charges, but do about 80% of the damage, and regular magic weapons deal around 50% damage (up to 66% for higher level weapons), but only use about 1/10 the amount of charges they did before (so they basically last 10 times longer before needing a recharge). I just made the mod last night and haven't done too much with it yet, and I do not have any DLC. But I can maybe post it up (not that I have any idea how ... and I would like to at least test myself first). I have never done any modding before.
  4. Can anyone point me in the right direction where I can find the coding that controls sneak attacks? Namely, I want to disable sneak attacks for spells, as was implemented in Skyrim Redone. Thanks
  5. While vanilla perks certainly seem to add some overpowered stuff of their own, consider the following: Unlike vanilla, skill affects damage in SkyRe (and unlocking the skill cap of 100 is recommended for the game, so this matters even more). Perks in SkyRe allow for a maximum of +110% damage (vanilla only +50%) If you get the Arcane Assassin perk, you can do x3 damage on sneak attacks If you are an High Elf, you can Channel Magika to do x2 damage (initial spell cast at least). I tested a few things out. I have a level 16 'mage' that currently has +17% damage bonus from equipment, 43 Destruction skill, and +40% dam to fire and +30% to frost. If I throw on Channel Magika, Fiery Hands show 162 damage, and Ice Spike shows 108. If I do a sneak attack while duel casting (no perk for it yet), Fiery Hands would do 668 damage (162 x 2 hands x 2 sneak damage), and Ice Spike will do 416. Suppose I level and get Destruction to 100, +60% damage from perks, and have Arcane Assassin. Fiery Hands would do 1362 Ice Spike would do 912 I did not calculate farther, but imagine if my skill is higher, and I have better gear (and even Duel Casting Perk). How much damage would Fiery Hands do then? 2000? More? I already play on Master difficulty, so I guess the actual damage I am doing is half what the calculations show, but isn't the damage extraordinarily high even so? I am still new to the game, so I really would like some perspective. If this seems about right, then ok ... I will keep playing the character and not think I am somehow taking advantage of things. But does spell damage need to be nerfed in SkyRe? Even if I stop playing a spellcaster and go melee, I still need to face mages in the game. Worse than being overpowered yourself is being overpowered by mobs. Thanks
  6. I am wondering why females in the game are using different skeletal structures. If you can see the image, that should explain everything. If not, my character and female townswomen have a model where the arms are close to the torso, whereas female guards have their arms bowed out (and they walk like they have something stuck up their backside). http://nflpool.net76.net/ScreenShot12.jpg I use a few mods that might affect this: CBBE FNIS VHH (high heel walk) Remodeled Armor (by Chrono) I have used, but uninstalled the following as well: Calientes Vanilla Outfits for CBBE LSAR for CBBE DIMONIZED UNP female body Better Males I would just like all females to use the skeletal structure like the toon on the left (or, if you cannot see the image, a feminine model where the arms are close to the the torso) Thanks
  7. Any ideas? I have installed new drivers. I have reinstalled the game. I have tried various setting levels. I have tried the High Res DLC too. Anything in the ini file maybe? I have had a couple of other issues I resolved with adjustments to this: 1) "bDeferredShadows=1" to "bDeferredShadows=0" to eliminate random light/shadow sequences and lines and black splotches. 2) Setting ShadowMapResolution to 4096 to eliminate flickering textures and jagged, lego-like shadows
  8. I am not sure if your problem is what I was experiencing, but it sounds similar. To fix it, open SkyrimPrefs.ini in ...\My Documents\My Games\Skyrim\ and change "bDeferredShadows=1" to "bDeferredShadows=0"
  9. I am currently having this issue and I can find no solution despite trying for 2 hours already. I tried using some mods as well (HD 2K and W.A.T.E.R), but neither helped. Any ideas? System: CPU: Phenom quad4 RAM: 4gb Windows 8 GPU: ATI Raedon 3870 512mb Currently on medium settings, but even if I go to low settings it does nothing. I verified files through steam and all I get for that is having to redo my control settings (e.g mouse sensitivity).
