  1. Turns out it was an outdated version of the Unofficial Patch; I have installed the latest version and no more Italian! And trying to purchase Breezehome was glitched; but not anymore. I can't blame that Mod because I had already re-installed most of the other mods and it may have been a cooperative effort.
  2. My installation is a Steam download, supposedly in English. I even had the files verified by steam at one point in time. I don't think it has anything to do with the desktop; never had a problem like this before. Anyway, thanks for responding.
  3. My English copy is plagued with seemingly random Italian text. The Quest menu, many subtitles, and most books are effected (written in Italian). I have copied the appropriate String files into a String folder I made ( /Data/Strings). While this cleared up a Wyre Bash problem, it didn't cure the plague. This is especially a problem with the Quest menu. Anyone else having a similar problem? Any help? Thank You.
  4. Glad you solved your String File problem - I see you want this post deleted. Was your problem anything to do with seemingly random Italian (or other) text? As in subtitles, many books, and Quest menu. I also am stupid, so please share your wisdom, if applicable.
  5. After trying to switch from f\Fallout 4 to Skyrim Special Edition, NMM won't start ("Unrecognized Game Mode" "....not set up to work with Fallout 4......rescan....."). But NMM won't start. So I want to try reinstalling, but am worried that I might lose my modded setup? I can start Fallout 4 via the f4se_loader.
  6. Neither "BSAopt" nor "BSA Unpacker" will unpack this archive. I'm having a problem with Italian names of objects and the quest log, and need to move the "..strings" files to another location. Does anyone know of an archive unpacker that is up-to-date with the special edition?
  7. AGreatWeight, thanks for your reply. I ended up renaming "Main" to "Main-A" {they were entirely different mods] and it worked. As for the version number and nexus id, I'm out of luck there as I manually place the mods into NMM's fallout 4 mod folder as I had an issue with Skyrims mod organizer hyjacking the mods as I tried to download them with NMM when the game first came out - sorry, too much information - thanks again for the reply, john.
  8. instead of the actual mod name? i would like to install a mod named "main" along with it's "Patch", however, NMM won't treat them as separate from previous downloads of the same names. It asks the usual overwrite or replace etc. Is there some way for me me to get NMM to treat them separately. If I rename one with ,say an added "A", will the mod still work? thanks for any advice
  9. Thanks everyone for responding - now I know this is a common problem for most everyone. I will look into those mods you recommended Burnt. Thanks again.
  10. They come with the vault suits, but unlike them, i can't give them to any settler. Thanks
  11. I would like to use the "Check for missing or outdated downloaded ID's" function in the NMM. This instruction pops up when the pointer is over the caution symbol in the ID column; however I cannot find any tool to do this. Thanks for any help.
  12. thanks to both of you - i'll go into game right now and be done with thier crazy bdhavior
  13. the battle for bunker hill is long over and i'd like to see the doc, the sales lady in blue, the railroad caravan owner, and the woman in charge start acting normal again! Can anyone point me in the right direction in FO4Edit to "unfear" these actors. thanks for any help
  14. after several hours of reading these posts it seems to me that a whole lot of people have essentially the same problem - they can't load saves or start a new game. Some players go so far as to uninstall everything, only to still have problems upon reinstall. Am i wrong, or is this a major issue that should be getting much more attention by Bethesda, and frankly the Nexus (not to suggest they are at fault, but i think this issue needs them to step up and help us to understand what is happening).
