Honestly, it'd be easier and more balanced to the original designer's intent if we just made it so the guerrilla tactics school accepted squaddies, and trained them slightly faster than rookies. It's essentially Commander's choice at that point.

I don't suppose you could just make it so the Guerrilla Tactics school accepted squaddies? That was gonna be my fix, and wouldn't break that part of the game.
