CK isn't out yet.

See if I were to bring Talos actually physical there is two routes, in a god like form where i feel he would be better in larger size, or like Lachdonin shows maybe he is amoung the people in a avatar form. Story is still being thought on, been reading song of fire and ice series I like the feel of the politics in it and will help me with a story-line like this ideas wise.
-
I definitely agree
-
I see them doing Stendarr faction before Talos related as they covered Talos a bit in their civil war story-line I just don't see Bethseda going back and covering Talos again. At the moment just getting opinions and ideas, anyways as I want to see creation kit before I worry about modding game to much as this is just a side fun project for me it may be to much work in CK to spend the time on, as I have my game to focus on.
-
Yes I am shooting for a route you can take for either mission do it with force, or in a more peaceful manner. I like to give players a choice and not force them on any single direction. Got some good ideas coming for this, can't wait for creation kit so I can start adding to it.

Interesting idea, still working on the design to the town so its still possible. I am a big fan of the dark brotherhood and at one time I thought about expanding that idea but the problem I run into with the dark brotherhood without spoiling is how it ends. Anyways for my this is still a idea in progress so figured getting communities thoughts on it and depending on my time constraints as I am currently working as a indie developer on a game. This idea will go through a lot of time and thinking. One aspect I do want to keep is the town idea if possible (will know more with creation kit release). So when you become jarl basically you will have to deal with different threats to the town. So i mean its possible for dark brotherhood to try to influence the town, as well as even more likely thieves guild would try to start milking you town of money. Bandit attacks, Thalmor attacks etc.. This idea is a fairly large scale, started with me mainly wanting to introduce a new town, made of new models to give the community something new and new buildings to use in other mods. So the town I will be making for sure the story behind the town, and how town is built, and what is included is still in question. Though all my buildings and props i make will be for community use with credit given.

Ya I agree still flaws in my idea, main reason i posted here now is everyone has great ideas, and I am open to new storylines if anyone has any ideas for other than Talos, I am completely open to it. As for Skyrim Evolution interesting idea they got first time I heard of it, which is a cool idea granted what they plan is a very large undertaking. I am not planning to be as diverse in the town making system imagine when you buy your furniture for your house it kinda just appears very close to what mine will be like for the town with tweaks. As I stated before I am not 100% on the Talos idea I been reading lore, and other cults, and factions that have been around and working on developing a full fledge idea. I will say if I tackle the worship idea I will make sure while its similiar in idea to the Storm Cloaks it will be very different questline from them.
-
Ya I kinda like that idea, a good way to combine both start hidden and when you gain the power to be more open you open the town up and with the temple in the underground it will be easier to protect in an attack.
-
Not a bad idea by any means and will keep it in mind for when creation kit comes, Although I will say reason I like a open town that you build is it kinda shows the feeling we don't care what you think we will worship him as we please and do it openly not from hiding. With that said though doesn't mean I cannot incorperate this idea, as well guild house could be a old ruin built into the mountain you find in the beginning. The town forms around the outside of it. I like the idea though and will keep it in mind when forming this idea. Thanks nightrox1 :) Thanks for the suggestions you 2 so far, I want this mod to be something the community enjoys, and not just myself and I will appreciate anymore suggestions from other members of community.

Ya its just North North West of Falkreath which I may change it up I have a few areas to scout but that was my first favorite since next to a mountian (your house when purchased will over see the town) and I didn't want snow on this town skyrim has plenty of those so grassy area was important. Ya I would love some Lore help and as for a geek we all are in our own ways lol. My gf actually likes it I'm lucky there lol. I use to play WoW and I haven't played over a year so I'm with ya there man. Having someone who understands the universe will help make this mod be immersive, and help with quest ideas. So any help I do appreciate, and thanks for tips so far on ideas.

/palmtoforhead Ya the Thalmor is exactly what I meant, I have no idea why I type Falmer. As for option A yes the town will take time that was my idea, is this mod doesn't all come together at once, you face many trials in starting the town. So starting out openly is a great way to run into problems fast. So this is the route I planned to take, don't want to reveal to much of the story I got going, mainly for immersion reasons I want people to not know what will come next. I like your idea though dealing with them small and then when the town gets big enough it kinda runs into B where you will start to face a lot more resistance against the idea. Also I plan for quest related to this town to last even after becoming Jarl as running a town isn't all reward with no challenges. Curious if your interested in helping me in the Lore side of things Let me know would love to have someone who knows the world. I got the ability just not the knowledge of many fellow fans of the series. Ive kinda found a location I like in between towns and no real landmarks on the map in the attachment.
-
Im still new to the universe (started in oblivion) so thanks for the suggestions. I felt when I typed imperials it didn't feel right that might be why. The main problem was going to be the Falmor and their attempts to stop you. I like the idea of imperials covertly helping you adds a unique ideas in my head. Thank you! Any ideas on stories, and etc.. I am welcome to. As for the name of the mod that's something that will change it was just something for project name. If anyone has ideas to dedicate this town to that fits Lore Wise I am more than welcome this is work in progress idea. Anything Subject to change. Thanks for the info though taking it into account and will continuely look for other ideas, Main feature I am focused on keeping is the building the town. Though the start of the town can change.

I may come back to this idea later but with the current Stendarr mod in production, and my own beliefs that they may be part of a DLC I have decided to take a new route and make a whole new faction and town check my other post for it. Thanks for the Ideas I would suggest you give your ideas to the other Stendarr Mod links below. Stendarr Mod (Give ideas to these people thanks!) - http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/499559-vigilants-of-stendarr-paladin-order/ Return of Talos (My new Idea) - http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/521402-return-of-talos-suggestions-welcome/

My original idea was a Stendarr faction but as another mod working on it and my own belief Bethseda may release a DLC concerning them I decided to take a new route and develop a whole new faction, town and change the world of Skyrim. General Idea As many of you know Talos is a man Tiber Septim who ascended to god hood. In the Great War the Elves had forced the worship of Talos to end oppressing followers and prosecution any who worship him (was part of the treaty after great war). As Talos is one of the Nine Divines and as any religion you try to suppress their religion people fight back. My goal is to bring talos back to Skyrim as a main worship free of prosecution. I wish to take factions in a new direction. The player does not simply join this faction and rise up the ranks. You will be the founder of this town and be one of the main soldiers in the fight to bring back Talos as one of the nine divines free of prosecution in Skyrim. Everything from finding artifacts, to hiring a architect to help you rebuild the town (Will act as a house normally does your purchase the building to be built). With enough money and effort you will build a whole town as you try to raise Talos back to worship. How quest will work? Quest while not construction kit yet I have a general idea how I would like to do the quest. There will be 3 main Quest lines in the town. Bringing Back Talos Worship, Rebuilding the Town, and Shop Quest. Bringing Back Talos - This will be a quest line in which you fight for the return of Talos worship. This will bring problems with the Imperials (Imperials will be helpers in covert now Thanks Lachdonin on information) and the Thalmor. You will need to battle them to free Skyrim of thier oppression pushing them out of Skyrim for good. Possible Good / Dark Route to bringing it back. Rebuilding the Town - The town will start as a empty lot and you must hire a contractor to help you build the return of this lost town in Skyrim. Purchasing Buildings, Finding Store Owners, Gaurds, and more. Shop Quest - These quest will be for the shop keepers as no one can start with nothing and expect to make sales, you help these shop keepers bring their store to life. Other Quest - Companions (You actually need to work to get these companions to fall for you), Threats on your Town, (Open to Ideas Suggest Please!! Thanks!) What new Items will there be? Several New Items will be brought into this Town/Faction. + Armor of Talos (Plan for different varients for Mages/Melee and Archers) + New Buildings (Plan to model more unique buildings so your town is like no other) + Unique Weapons and Shields Etc.. + and more. (once again open to suggestions) What Buildings can you buy for your town? + Wall Around the Town + Talos Shrine + Temple of Talos + Talos GuildHall + Library + Inn + Gaurd House (complete with jail) + Archers Building + Black Smith + General Goods Store + Apothecary + House District (Adds homes to the town) + Your own Special home that will over look the town. What will be the perks of paying to have this town raised? With each building you will gain a tax, that helps you fund the town, the more you add the more you make. Also based on how you bring back his worship how people outside your town will view you. Several people who will happily follow you into battle. Also much more, (traders for use, special options, and new radiant quest fit for a Jarl.) Will there be restrictions to who can start this Town? No this will be for any player who wishes to see Talos worshipped in the Skyrim once more. I will be doing as much as I can I have experience in Scripting my main talent is 3D Art (Props, Buildings Etc) If anyone is interested in Helping just post let me know. I am open to any ideas and suggestions and hope to bring something unique to Skyrim.

Not a bad idea, I also thought about a new route in factions. Instead of the player joining and going up in the ranks. He is a creator, or co-creator of a faction and the challenges of establishing the order and people for it rather than doing the work for others. The work is to establish your faction and raise it from the ground up. If possible would consider treating the town like a home and you got to add buildings etc.. to build this faction from nothing. a lot would depend on the creation kit but that idea has lingered would be interesting to be the creator of a new faction.
-
That's actually my only worry about the Stendarr faction, I have a feeling bethseda may be using them as a DLC, since they have a building, and looks like it has potential for a quest line. So I haven't fully committed to the idea, looking into the ideas of other factions or new ones. I am currently waiting on the release of CK to completely commit to an idea. Mainly getting a idea on responses and wait and see. I probably will start with a new area than the stendarr main in the game so if they are to release a dlc for it I can easily switch things up fast for a new faction and adjust my idea. I have been doing 3d art since i was 16 (now 24) so whatever I make i hope to do complete new model set. New buildings, interiors for the faction, custom house as well as weapons armor etc.. So if anyone has ideas for other factions that you would like to see feel free to suggest them, as I may switch it up. Thanks!
-
Thats cool, but i had a little different idea for the faction, wish them luck but not every project makes it to final stages so it cannot hurt for me to do my idea, as i got my own ideas for armor, story and new gameplay elements.

With nearing release of the Creation Kit I felt this npc faction deserved a shot at its own faction, with quest and unique armor set and story. So I started thinking about it and plan to create this once the creation kit is released. Vigilant of Stendarr a faction of Holy Warriors serving the divine Stendarr. You join them in their efforts of erradicating the world abominations. Hunt down Witches, Ghost, Vampires, Werewolfs and more. What will this mod add to the game? + A larger influence of un-dead and abominations in the world. + Daedra Worshippers + Daedra + Werewolf Packs + Ghost + Unique armor sets (Light and Heavy Armor Sets) + New Possible Spouses (Met through your adventures serving Stendarr) + More Vampires in and outside of towns (hiding among people). + New Dungeons, Houses, Weapons, and Armor What is the story? People of Skyrim may fear the dragons, but they have no idea what stirs in the shadows of skyrim. Daedra's, Vampire Lords, and Werewolf packs threaten Skyrim from shadows and a threat is rising like no other is Skyrim prepared? What are the benefits of being in the Vigilants of Stendarr? Unique Armor and Potions with Benefits to help in your service to Stendarr. Also ability to kill Vampires, and Werewolf in towns without a Bounty. Also the longest quest line out of all the factions. With perks, and benefits given as you rise among the ranks of the Vigilantes. I am a werewolf or vampire can I join? No, You must clear your character of their Affliction first. So why add this if your are a vampire or werewolf? Vigilants of Stendarr will be sent after you time to time and bring a challenge to those who prefer to play that class. Also a quest line to destroy the vigilants of stendarr for those who wish to rid skyrim of these hunters. Updates will be posted here regularly. If you wish to help send me a message and will discuss things farther.

Where to start... 1.) As many said NPC's pretty much everything about them. The voice acting the was sub par and the dialogue was more than dissapointing. If you stood in a town for 10 minutes you could easily tell they were scripted their actions. Stealing was to simple I just had to run out of sight and grab something and nothing happened. There was no real life to the world in my opinion. I want to see people shopping. 2.) Dungeons/Caves etc.. Was so boring finding the same stuff and bad guys in every single dungeon every time I hoped to find something special and would leave disappointed. 3.) The guilds most of them were boring, dark brotherhood and theives guild were maybe the best but still felt like there was no gift to being in charge of the groups other than that mask which made everything way to easy and was kinda a joke. Way to overpowered. 4.) Vampires, I mean not drinking blood made them more of a vampire?? That was wierd to me, and there should be far more hatred and hunters after you for just being a vampire. Able to turn some people but it has a risk to it. 5.) Leveling system, enemies leveled with you no real challenge to the whole game .. yawn... 6.) Archery, I want wind and weather to effect my shots so im not making 300 foot shots no problem right into the head of the badguy. 7.) Magic while it was ok I want to feel powerful as a mage, feel like my spells are earth shaking and that was just not apparent. 8.) Consequences to your actions, They had them to a point but i want there to be a far bigger reason to stay away from jail than a simple jailbreak or sleep on bed and be released. 9.) Moving economy, I want to see traders come and move around product so i cant just sell a sword i found come back 30 days later and guess what Its still there! 10.) Better home customization, ability to people your weapons in the weapon racks, and place objects properly on tables etc.. I could go on forever, but it doesn't matter till i get to play skyrim and see how much they have improved.

Ya that would work and tbh im not really picky i would probably be fine with it way it is, but there will be a few lighting mods so im sure someone will cover it.
-
I actually have my set to standard brightness levels and it is pretty bright, granted im sure they will have a gamma control in skyrim but that turns daylight brightness down too, so a mod would be best route to make the night lighting darker.
