It's kind of like the midwest's divergence. I personally think that they had went to the Pitt to just get tech and mercilessly slaughtered everyone, man woman and child. That weighed down upon Lyons and I think that's why he changed their mission over time. I have nothing to back this up but the fact that the outcasts didn't leave over night. It took years of minor changs in doctrine to finally make Casadin and a minority of troops to leave.

I think users (especially NMA types) over emphasize the super future retroness of the fallout universe. In Fallout/Fallout 2 you could get shotguns and battle rifles/assault rifles that by our standards would be futuristic. I do agree that more people should make 50's/early 60ish weapons, but realize that even in the FO universe, high tech ultra modern weaponry was being made before the fall.

I have a feeling that the bethesda outcome of the midwest BoS will be the enclave joining them, or the midwest BoS joining the enclave.

If anything it's "god damn the mormons have gotten the short end of the stick."
