  1. I'd normally run the uninstaller through steam, then go and delete the files that are left, but I will read through that guide on how to uninstall properly. But I won't uninstall just yet, I'll do a few other things, deactivate a few mods here and there, start a new game see what happens. I'm not using OBGE, liquid water and the ENBoost mods anymore, just Oblivion Reloaded and Streamline. Glad your game is running well Morokura, hope it stays that way.
  2. I Installed Oblivion Reloaded and by luck or by this mod, I actually got a few more minutes of gameplay before the inevitable crash of doom. The mod itself looked nice, with the subtle depth of field, the new shaders and lighting but I missed my old sunbeams and godrays, I wonder if I can add the ones I had before. But, because I'm still crashing, I think i'll just uninstall on steam, and then delete whatever folders are left and just start with... -gulp- less mods. I'll move my fresh Oblivion folder backup, back to C/Games. Although I can't actually load the exe from the desktop or Oblivion folder as I get application error with a bunch of numbers. The game only starts through launching from the Steam library and even launching through RazorCortex. Should I uninstall Oblivion on Steam or just remove the folders manually then add my fresh backup?

I know that just adding more RAM won't help really, but it's just for reassurance, I'm very sad about how the game just keeps crashing after all that work actually figuring out how to get all these mods to work. I had planned out all the mods I was going to install but... The game just doesn't like it, and it's a grim reality that I'm trying to hide. I'll probably just start over again, but add less which just frustrates me in everyway. Or I might just move on to Fallout 3 or New Vegas. I basically uninstalled all my Bethesda games to stop me from playing them to have long break and then come back and mod the hell out of them, since I've never done a full on, intensively modded playthrough of them before and I've learn't a lot. The few moments I do get to play are just a tease as the game looks great, and it even runs great but those crashes just happen at anytime, and it makes you lose the determination to play at all because you know it's going to happen.

I've been trying for the last 2 days to get the crashes to reduce, I've ran the optimizing program ''Ordenador'' I ran the program with the Textures folder in the browse bar, by time it finished, It apparently free'd nearly 4GB with the loss of minimal image quality, you can go further with the compression rate, with there being Minimum, Medium and Maximum. I chose Maximum. You can also use it to optimize your BSA's but I did try that but I had to close it because It ran out of memory apparently, however I do still get crashes. I have 8GB of RAM but I'm thinking of buying an extra 4GB of Corsair Vengence. The 8GB I have at the moment are standard DDR3 1330MHZ made by the PC shop Novatech (UK). Whether adding more RAM to my system will help, I don't know. Corsair Memory Vengeance Black 4GB DDR3 1600 MHz CAS 9 XMP Dual Channel Desktop Sandybridge Ready Is the name of RAM I'm thinking of getting from Scan. It'll increase my RAM to 12. About enabling Oblivion to use more RAM, I've read on another forum about how the Steam version and OBSE files also need to be enabled to use more than 2GB, I did try this but I'm still getting constant crashes, sometimes I can play for 30 minutes, and sometimes it's 3.

I have 590Gb left in my haddrive, i will start making saves into new slots and see what happens, as for the Enhanced Water, I remember in the Installation there was an option to use either one, and I chose the HD so I don't know why that other one is there, i'll deactivate it and see what happens, As for the Improved Fires and Flames I don't think there is a master, Wrye Bash hasn't picked up anything like that, and it seems to be working fine. EDIT: I deactivated Enhanced Water v2.0 ND.esp and I've been making new saves into individual slots, I fast traveled to the Kvatch Refugee camp, walked up the hill and took the quest about closing the Oblivion gate, during the quest I think I crashed twice, both from reloading after I died, though i managed to load the save without a crash the second time. I managed to close the Oblivion gate, fighting in Kvatch I encountered another crash when I died and reloaded, haven't tried to reload yet.
  6. I have Save on wait, sleep and travel all turned off. I save from the Esc menu, when I normally play I'd usually only have 1 save and continue to overwrite it, although this time round when the game crashes, and I try to reload the last save, the game crashes, so I'd have to resort to a previous save, so I've been making saves into different slots to load them if I crash again and I can't load the latest save, so I don't have to go back to the one I made before I left the sewers. As for the hours played, It's a new game, I've only recently come back to Oblivion and this is a fresh new game, I didn't start playing properly till I did everything and the game loaded. EDIT: The problem gets worse, the games crashes as soon as I click play on the Oblivion launcher, this is the first time I've played since the crash earlier, restarting Steam didn't help, but restarting my PC did. This is so strange.

  8. I just tried the trick, I loaded my game. Went to coc center and waited for 72 hours, I then entered coc weye, and took the scales quest, and whilst I was gathering the scales, I think i've played about 10 minutes. The loading area text appeared and my game crashed. Is this "coc center & wait 72 hours" trick something you'd have to do every time you load your game? Is there anything else I can do because it's really starting to annoy me, I've only just finished modding and being amazed that I've got them all to work, and now the game just keeps crashing. Though I'm not sure if it's to do with any mods It could just be the game.
  9. Hello, back again with another problem. My Oblivion Is constantly crashing whilst playing, It occurs when traveling in the outside world, for example, I tried traveling to Chorrol from the Imperial City and I didn't make it far, happened when I've tried traveling from Chorrol to Kvatch also, I've also encountered another problem when I do crash, and try to reload that last save, the game crashes upon reloading. EDIT: By traveling I mean by foot/horse not fast travel. I have the The Elder Scrolls lV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition Deluxe from Steam, It's installed in C/Games/Oblivion. I have OBSE, Stutter Removal, 4gb Enabler, Streamline and Oblivion Reloaded. I'm getting no lag, just these random crashes, and I'm not sure what's causing them, Tes4Edit doesn't find any errors, neither does BOSS.   11. Thanks for the reply, I think this may have done it. I'm just waiting for it to finish compressing which i didn't have to do before :laugh: Can't believe i didn't take much notice of that post though, I've even got a comment on there. It's just one of those weeks I guess... Thank's again! I'll let you know what happens. EDIT: Also, Is it wise to rebuild my bashed patch after installing this? along with creating a merged patch in Tes4Edit? EDIT 2: The game has loaded, and I left the sewers without any crashes and I've encountered new creatures. Haven't ran into any problems yet. Looking good.
  12. Mart's Monster Mod doesn't seem to be installing correctly, I'm using Oblivion Mod Manager and I've also got Oscuro's Overhaul installed already. I don't plan on installing FCOM, just OOO and MMM. I downloaded the 4 files: MMM38.rar MMM38BSA.7z MMM 3.8 ReadMe and Version History.rar All 3 from MMM page at the TESAlliance. I also downloaded the TheNiceOne OMOD Installer from the Nexus. I added MMM38.rar (from archive) to the OMOD then MMM 38BSA (from archive), although nothing showed up in the box, and then the conversation data (from archive). I then created it, and went through the installer. After selecting Less Rats, I get a message saying I didn't add the BSA, so I didn't want to continue with the installation. I had read the readme before, although I believed I may have missed the rename the BSA to ''Mart's Monster Mod.bsa, however within the bsa file i downloaded, it's already called that. I then started to experiment... Can't really recall what I did but I renamed the archive itself, I might of renamed the bsa inside, sorry I can't be much help here, it was redmist. But I tried the installation again and did the same process, but this time after the Less Rats, there was no pop up saying I didn't add the bsa, and I installed MMM. However, I ran Tes4Edit, I got the following message ''Background Loader: Fatal: <Exception: C:\Games\Oblivion\steamapps\common\Oblivion\data\Mart's Monster Mod for OOO.bsa is not a valid BSA file>'' My game loaded, and so did my save game before leaving the sewers, but as soon as I left it crashed, I started a new game, but encountered missing mesh icons on the goblins weapons I believe. This save also crashed when I left the sewers. I'm sure the problem is related about the renaming bsa business, but I just don't understand what I'm supposed to be renaming and how... I've added mods to Oblivion fine until this problem occurred and It's making me lose my mind. Please help, thank you. PS. MMM isn't installed right now, however I can if you want a load order, even though i definitely think it's the bsa renaming thing that's confusing me.
  13. Solved the issue, i just setstage 001349a7 40 and Boone spoke to me, so i was able to finish the quest.
  14. Not to sure what you mean by too many quotes and set variable to value? I've tried entering the commands without the quotes, but it still doesn't work, the link didn't help me much but it did lead me to go on the talk section for the I Forgot to Remember to Forget quest, one of the posts suggested a mod called A Present for Boone, where you can make presents for Boone and in return get history points, so i made 5 to get the necessary points to trigger the conversation with Boone at Coyote Tail Ridge but nothing happened. So instead i decided to reset the quest entirely and then give him another 5 presents hoping that it may trigger again, nope. So I then just clicked on Boone and entered the command rdf which resets the dialogue soon after i did that he did speak to me and i was able to start the quest again, we went to Bitter Springs, triggered the conversation and again sadly, when i went to the Coyote Tail Ridge, nothing happened... It's getting very frustrating.

I'm having trouble completing the quest ''I Forgot to Remember to Forget'', because i'd already completed and done most of the things that gave me history points with Boone, i wasn't able to start the quest. So i then read up about what i could do and what actually gave me the history points, i completed ''I Put a Spell on You'' [

  17. I've had a look at the BOSS and had a little read, I deactivated the DC Interiours Combo Edition. So far the game hasn't crashed yet. But If It does start doing It frequently soon, I'll be getting some of those Remastered patches. Thanks for the help.

  20. I just downloaded BOSS, opened It. I'm seeing mods... But It's my Oblivion mods. I went to your link to download It so It's from the Fallout 3 nexus, Either way. I have no Idea how to use It. I'm looking at Remastered page, Not sure which files to download, I take it the two Main ones and the comfortability ones. For Example I have FWE and RH Iron Sights so I get them?
  21. Yes I do have a Multi core processor, and I've done exactly that. It did not work. I did try some of the FOIP patches and some of them made my game crash. I think some of them are outdated? I will have a look at BOSS and the Remastered, Thanks for your reply.

  23. I tried this, but It didn't work. It's something to do with my load order or a conflict. But I don't know how to get a screenshot of them... I've added a Dxdiag.
  24. I load up my game through Fallout Mod Manager, 'Lauch FOSE' Archive Invalidation Is on aswell. and the game starts up perfectly. But as I get into my game, after maybe 1 - 2 minutes of gameplay It'll freeze. I'm not sure what the cause may be, It could be a conflict or my messy load order. I did try using the '4gb Enabler' but I'm even sure If that works, don't even how to Install It. Okay, so my screenshot Is too big to be uploaded... I used Fraps. How annoying.
