  1. 95 pages, and 10 comments per page amounts to 950 chances to 1. I say I'll take them, sir.
  2. hey hossain, The feature you are looking for comes in a mod that I haven't tried it out myself yet, and it comes together with many other overhauls, but it sounds interesting and you might want to check it out: Requiem - The Oldschool Rolelaying Overhaul (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/19281) Relevant to static world: "- Almost every leveled aspect of the game world is now static: ° Enemies and Allies no longer are leveled (except for followers at the moment) - you'll find any enemy the game has to offer from level one on - it's now only based on chance and location what you may find in the land of Skyrim ° Items are no longer generated based on the players level (this includes merchants wares, random loot and much more). You can find everything in the world, though the higher the quality, the rarer the item ° All quest rewards are no longer dependant on your level ° The amount of leveled locks has been reduced ° The damage traps deal is no longer based on your level. It's always lethal, now" If you try it out, please let me know what your thoughts on it are. I'm reading it a TBH I'm not looking for a major overhaul that makes combat near impossible, I'm just looking for more static world. Makes sense, I am also rather skeptic of major changes to the gameplay. Found this, it sounds exactly what you want: Unlevelled World - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/6206

  4. Additional thoughts (trying to raise some interest in this): Isn't it funny that you can spend minutes underwater to unlock a chest? I mean, who has ever needed a potion of underwater breathing when you have the ability to stop the need for breathing altogether? Real-time Lockpicking would solve that, giving at least some usefulness to Argonians' ability to breath underwater. Another one: Imagine how different it would be to hide and sneak in a giant's camp site to steal from their treasure chest, if, all the time while you are trying to pick the lock, you would be hearing their heavy steps and those of mammoths around, being paranoid that a giant might see you, come around and put you in orbit with his club. How is it now instead: You just need to run straight to the chest, pause the universe, try and try until you unlock the chest, grab everything, and run away. Another: Want to break into that rich merchant's house in a guarded city? How is it now: you crouch next to the door and wait for that annoying guard to look away for a second, and the moment you get "hidden", pause everything, unlock the door and get in. Real-time lockpicking would make burglary a hell of a lot more exciting, with all these guards and citizens wandering about. It'd also make investing in lockpicking perks worthwhile, because you'd really want to be able to pick locks as fast as possible. I am interested in reading what you guys think. Would you welcome such a modification to lockpicking (extendable to Reading, even possibly accessing the Inventory)?
  5. @Marine, SEU looks interesting as a mod, but what I am looking for is a mod which doesn't change the lockpicking system (so you still use the vanilla lockpicking mini-game), but while you do it, time doesn't freeze. I think it would be much more interesting to know that I have to quickly find the "sweet spot" of that lock before a guard comes in -when the whole world pauses for me to pick a lock, there is no point really in investing in lockpicking perks, as with enough patience, you can always pick the lock 100% safely. I know this is a week old already, but in case you never found out the solution to your problem, if I understand you right, I think the thing is that once you have added the mods by double clocking on them in the NMM, you still have to launch Skyrim through NMM itself (there is a drop-down button at the upper left corner) instead of using the good old launcher. Basically, the NMM is an advanced and improved substitute for the launcher. Hope it helps, Cheers!
  6. Hey LazerWulf, it's your lucky day: Better MessageBox Controls does exactly that and it happens to be a hot mod in nexus right now (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/28170). Concerning user interface improvements, and by the same author, you might want to check Better Dialogue Controls (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/27371), which solves the issue of selecting the wrong dialogue option due to interface design flaws. I recommend and endorse both effective, minimum size, no issues mods. ;-) ... I shamelessly take the chance to remind that I am desperately looking for real-time lockpicking, either as a mod, or as advice about if it's possible to implement it!
  7. Hi, I have been thinking that it would be great to have the lockpicking mini-game in real-time instead of pausing the whole world for you to pick locks comfortably (it would make the whole lockpicking perk tree more meaningful, because, seriously, who has ever put perk points in there, when all you need is enough patience?). Likewise, I also thought that Reading would be more interesting if it happened in real-time instead of pausing everything (for example to wait for magicka to regenerate meanwhile, or in combination to ScenicCarriages mod, etc). I have a very limited experience with modding, but from my ignorance, it would seem to me that making both Lockpicking and Reading real-time shouldn't be too difficult since Enchanting and Alchemy already take place real-time. So my question would be if there exists a mod which does that already, or, failing that, if some of you more experienced modders could explain me how difficult this would be, what would imply, or if this can this be done at all. Thanks in advance for helping a newbie out!
  8. I think ScenicCarriages does this quite well. It makes carriage travel real-time and, as a consequence of it, you do certainly face the usual hostile encounters. The mod also includes the option to ask the driver to stop the carriage to hop off, midway. Check it out. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/15094
  9. I add my humble vote to this. Real-time lockpicking would make the current boring skill (and perk tree, because, seriously, who have ever put perk points in there?) much more interesting. Perhaps someone familiar with how the system works could shed some light on this and explain what the current situation is, if it'd be possible to implement at all, and why hasn't been done already. Please?
  10. Hi there! I am assuming that "Better Horses" might do that because it also makes that horses do not detect you when you try to sneak. It's maybe worth checking it out. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/10579#content Thank you. And I don't know of any mod which does that, but I am curious to know why you need that. Is it that you don't want to level up while recharging your weapons?
  11. Hi everyone, I thought of 2 mods that I thought I would like to have, but since I am having trouble figuring out good keywords to search for them, I decided to gather courage and ask here (this is my first post here; Nexus' community is awesome <3). 1. I am all for immersion, that's how I really enjoy this game. I play with headphones on, no enemies shown on compass, no health bars on enemies, no location markers, no fast travel, realistic needs, dark nights, that kind of thing. Because of this, I don't really like the fact that the music changes automatically when hostile enemies are around: I prefer being paranoid of noises in the dark, and to get the s*** scared out of me when an axe-wielding bandit appears from nowhere shouting on my ear. On the other hand, I do like Skyrim soundtrack, so I don't really want to switch the music off, but I don't want to get warnings through music either. Usually I resort to having the soundtrack CDs play on the background, but I would prefer it much more if the music still were location-based. My question thus is: Is there any mod out there that prevents the music from changing during combat? If not, how difficult do you think it would be to make one, could a newbie like me do it? Edit: In case anyone is interested, I found this: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/4548 2. This one is more straightforward: I would like to know if there is a mod that prevents time from stopping altogether when reading a book or picking a lock, just like using the arcane enchanter does, for example. Like that, I could for instance read some of the books while I wait for the sunrise, or just to have my mana regenerate in order to transmute some iron ore into gold, or something like that. It would also add the thrill of picking locks under the pressure of being discovered, or the pressing danger of an approaching enemy, etc. Is there any such mod? And again, if there is none, do you think it would be possible for me to get my hands dirty and try to do it myself? Sorry for the lengthy post!
