  1. I'm guessing the lack of GECK for version 4 has meant not much activity. Personally, I have had no time to play any games so far this year - including Fallout 4. So I've only managed to clock up about 10 hours of gameplay in total. But I'll be grabbing the GECK when it is released and maybe some modding will improve the gaming experience. A mod where, after taking lots of the drugs in the game you end up thinking you can work magic; opening up a magic system. As reality is singular, there is no reason the player shouldn't experience the magic as working. Maybe there could be an odd cut-scene of the reality of your character lying in a pool of something before cutting back to the gameplay. I would certainly enjoy developing a soundset for a magic system.
  2. It depends on what the creation kit will allow you to do. Audio playback rate does drop with time in VATS so the engine has the capability. Whether that can be applied to individual channels and not just the master output would be an issue. Lip sync data is combined with audio files so that could be another possible issue for such a mod. Another matter to address is that dropping pitch simply by slowing audio doesn't sound realistic if applied to real world sounds. One is best employing a formant and pitch shifter in combination. Then we need to decide whether alias frequencies are a problem or not. If so, we will want to apply anti-alias filtering on the fly and that will produce latency - possibly destroying sync with the animation. There is much to consider for a mod like this.
  3. Sounds good. We'll discuss specifics later; how realistic/fantastic. This kind of game is crying out for a blend of synthetic sounds and real world foley effects, I think. I would love to take a look at some of the designs for these weapons when you're ready. Visual cues will really help me to get a feel for how it should sound, along with any special features. I am also kinda new to the modding side of things. I don't know if the creation kit will allow for access to live processing effects - obviously depends on what is available in the game engine. If so, I have some ideas for live audio generation. Though I have a feeling we'll mostly be dealing with static samples, there might be methods of variation that will not inflate the download size too much. I have found a mod team being assembled here but your idea interests me so if we can get some solid plans, I would love to work on some new weapon sounds as well. Had to log back in to post. Something up with the forum.
  4. I have a good vibe about this game and can't wait for the creators kit. Maybe a little premature as my copy is in the post but I played excessively modded Skyrim so I have a fair idea of what to expect. Hopefully the cross platform mod potential will mean greater compatibility in general. About to add you. I should appear as 'Jas'. Request sent. :)
  5. Hey there, fluffinator09. I've already posted my interest in joining a mod team here and if you can get some people together with a strong idea and drive, I'm in for sound design. I started a thread here a little earlier: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/3382045-experienced-sound-designer-looking-for-mod-team/
