  1. I've been wondering this myself. Bethesda encourages people to mod, but having a voice protagonist throughout the main game then have him saying nothing throughout the mod would seem a bit jarring. I'm guessing Bethesda is just going to leave it up to the community to find sound-a-likes.
  2. Mhmm. I'm sneaking through a raider camp and pick up an oil can or something and codsworth decides to say as loud as possible: "I'd eat my hat if there's a use for that" and I'm thinking to myself "I wish you'd eat your hat. Anything in your mouth to stifle the damn sound coming out of it..." Codsworth can't eat he doesn't have a mouth. nor does he have hair. Ok I'm done haha
  3. You sound more mature than most of the pre teen gamers I meet. Most of them just cuss and scream over VoIP or just troll. And don't get me started on grammar and spelling. Haha, thanks. I do find a lot of kids around my age annoying. Trust me, it's not just on voice chat that they cuss and scream at people. I always try my best to keep grammar and spelling acceptable, although i may slip up every now and again.
  4. I am extremely offended, I have trouble getting in elevators :p Also, isn't it called face palm and not head slap? But yea, this is a pretty essential mod.
  5. It just a teleport script though. The mod will only take long time if he will need to change world spaces and cells massively. Quest and scripting hardly takes time, a fetch quest can be made in 30 minutes. And? Doesn't stop from making some cool stuff. There is in fact, a time travel mod for FNV. He will need to change spaces, such as the institute's lair. and get rid of the rail road's base as they have no reason to exist. He would probably need to get rid of the Brotherhood of Steel's ship too. And again, I bring up my question about voice acting. How would he get voices for the playable characters? I'm new to modding so please excuse me if my questions are a little nonsensical haha...
  6. This is a good idea! Not to mention we would hold our gun down when appropriate as well in first person view so we wouldn't need a separate mod for this. I didn't actually know about those third person combat attacks though. The animation in Fallout 4 are so much better than in previous titles, so I really would've though Bethesda would of wanted to show them off more. I second this post!
  7. Now that you bring these up, the cracks are starting to show. I didn't actually think of these, except for number 3. I was guessing he was going to get a team together or something. Not to mention this would most likely take months, if not years to make. Solely because of the time travel aspects. Hell, time travel is usually always faulty in movies or games a lot of the time.
  8. Huh, what do you know? It works. :p Looks like we will be getting workshop support for FO4 then
  9. As a whole, I think this could be a really cool mod! With the 1 out of 5 chance, that is oddly specific. Especially knowing that for a device that hasn't been tested yet. A simple fix would just be having the scientist to say something like "The device hasn't been tested yet. We don't know what could happen if there's, say, a failure. Now, I'll be frank. There is a slight chance the device could fail, ending most likely in you're death. The bolded text is the one that you could replace instead of 1 out of 5. Apart from that, i don't really see anything else wrong with it, until you get to actual game-play aspects. 1. Having a 1 out of 5 chance of dying every time I use it could be tedious. It adds something that could frustrate players with bad luck, as it's random. So here is my fix: Instead of having intelligence to 10, you need to have luck up to 10. Other wise you encounter death when you use it. This removes random death for no reason, but still keeping with your idea. Death in a game should always feel like the players fault, random chance is not their fault and it is not fun constantly having to reload because the game decided to kill you. 2. How would you get voice acting for the playable characters? I don't have a fix for this. If you were doing a mod like this I would suggest them having voices as it would be extremely jarring for hearing your character speak throughout the game and then him not. Regardless of people liking him having a voice or not, it would still feel weird. Overall this sounds like a cool mod but there are a few problems which will need sorting.
  10. I'm brand new to modding and don't know how to do a lot of things but I would be willing to help! I might pick up a lot of skills on the way. Just tell me what to do haha  EDIT: So far I've done a sound mod (not on the Nexus due to copyright, I wouldn't want to get banned) Although I have confidence in myself I could texture too. AGE: 14 (Young, I know. Rest assured I'm used to working with other people and I've been told I'm mature.) MODDING ABILITIES: Sounds Textures Voice Work (If needed. I do a little bit of acting every now and then in front of the camera so this might be one of my stronger abilities.) PREVIOUS WORK: None, but I do want to try and get active among the modding community.
  11. I'm new to this too and had this question a couple of days ago so here I go: WHAT TO WATCH: This video is about changing textures, but the process is the same, except that you are using B.A.E to extract the sounds you want instead of the textures. WHAT YOU NEED: http://audacityteam.org/ You don't specifically need Audacity, but it is the one I suggest using. It's free and pretty easy to learn. There are plenty of tutorials online on how to do certain things, but what you'll be using it for to create a sound mod is very easy. http://www.nexusmods...im/mods/32075/? This is essential if you want to create audio mods. This will allow you to change the WAV files to XWM, the file types that Fallout 4 uses. It has a ReadMe with simple instructions on how to use it, read that and it should be easy to learn! http://www.nexusmods...lout4/mods/78/? Another essential one. This allows you to extract the files you'll need to change into usable formats, like a WAV file. The youtube tutorial above will show how to use this. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html Optional. VLC can play XWM files, this can be helpful to make sure you've extracted the files correctly. If the sound is stuttering, do not worry that's normal. HOW TO MOD: To mod the sound files, you'll first need to have sound that you want to replace the original with, which in this case is Kevin Hart's song. This MUST be a WAV file. If it already is then you're all set, if it's not you need to export it through Audacity. Make sure you cut out the section of the song of your choice that you want to use. Export it as a WAV file. Next use B.A.E to find the music you want to change. I won't be outlining how to use B.A.E in this tutorial, the youtube video does a pretty good job with that. It's the same process as it is for textures, just with sounds instead. Once you've done all of that, grab the song that you edited in Audacity and follow the WAV to XWM converter's instructions. Copy and paste your new XWM file into the folder and replace the old one. You should now have a fully working mod! If you have any questions just ask. This really should be documented better somewhere.
  12. I've looked on google and searched through The Nexus, but I still can't find any tutorial on how to make a simple sound edit. (Like changing the Death Song.) I've never made mods for a game before, only installed other peoples mods. Help would be appreciated as I'm sure others would find this just as helpful as me. EDIT: And yes, I have looked at the Fallout 4 modding tutorial on the Nexus. There was not a tutorial for changing sounds.
