  1. So, I had this idea, what if there was something else to do with soul gems other than recharge weapons/staves and enchant stuff? Basically the idea would be that instead the normal uses a soul gem can either be weaponized to produce some kind of magical effect (I've only really thought of damage, defense, and healing as other less brute force methods would require actual spellcasting knowledge, which perhaps one doesn't want to spend time working on for whatever reason. Or the filled soul gems can be used as a 'power source' for a minor power or a couple types of minor power or spell like abilities. Anyway, here's the outline of my idea, please, feel free to give input. Also, I have absolutely NO idea as to how lore friendly this may or may not be. Soul gem casting - all effects modified by conjuration skill level / perks - offensive - 1. direct damage based on soul size, projectile type based on soul gem. - petty > short range, fast speed, spray type (like flames/sparks/frostbite) - lesser > mid range, slow speed, projectile type (like firebolt/ice spike) - common > mid range, mid speed, projectile type - greater > long range, high speed, projectile type - grand > long range, hit scan - black > mid range, very high speed, 'beam' type - 2. and/or D.O.T. based on soul size - 3. MCM settable damage type, fire/frost/shock/random/composite - 4. black soul gems backlash (5%-50% back on the player) - defensive - possibilities: increase armor rating, damage soak, or negate a certain number of hits - black soul gems possibly disallowed for this kind of use. (MCM) - restoration - recover health/magicka/stamina based on soul size - speed of recovery based on soul gem type/size - smaller gems slower heal over time, larger soul gems quicker heal over time, grand instant heal (like potion or heal spell) - black soul gems possibly disallowed for this kind of use (MCM), if allowed a combination of an instant heal with a lingering H.O.T. effect. - Ideas for ingame implementation > 'shouts' with associated cooldown based on the size of the soul gem and soul, minor power (either auto learn after chargen or via a spell tome), 'crafting' a soul gem into a soul gem bomb (or whatever) by combining with various raw materials. rarity of materials used based on soul gem type. ideas > petty (iron ingot and some kind of common alchemical ingredient) scaling to grand (dragonbone + flawless gems)
  2. Ok, a bit of a expansion on this request would be that the armor is: - A: Not just a suit of rings with flesh showing through. (I wince when I see those, imagine the pinching?) - B: By modular I mean like the Blackhand armors done by the person who made the Lustmord armor (please forgive me for not remembering your name/nickname/pseudonym if you read this or it is brought to your attention.) The 'chainmail' would be a suit and the 'base' armor covering the entire body (but hands/head/feet) of course have boots / hood(helmet?) / gloves(gauntlets) to match the mail, but then have it so you could put on the plate pieces as well, chest plate, bracers (to go with / over the chain gloves), leg plates, foot armor (plate boots to go over the chain 'socks'), possibly a girdle / belt to cover the waist between the upper plate and lower plate parts, perhaps even make a skirt style lower plate armor? This is problably venturing FAR away from the story of the world and what might be found there, but eh. - C: Lastly, ideally I imagine that there could be different versions of the armor set for the various material types (sans leather/hide(and possibly imperial). Anyway there's my request. PS: I don't mind sexy armors, or clingy ones or sculpted, just... wide expanses of bare flesh don't agree with my concept of 'armor'.
  3. To be honest I don't remember seeing any specified directions about it needing to be installed only by OBMM, however that will be the next stop on my trail to success. Thank you both for your input.
  4. Ok, so here's the scenario: I have this OMOD I want to install, it's -HUGE- and NMM's brain stops working every time I try to install it. I want to extract things from the OMOD file so I can just handle it manually, the problem being this, when I extract the OMOD with 7zip I see these files: > config > data > data.crc > plugins > plugins.crc and frankly I don't know what to do with any of it. I'm pretty sure that all the meat of the mod is hiding in the 'data' file, but I don't know what to do to extract the useable information from it, from what I've read about the mod, it's supposed to have some scripted installer stuff in it to help the mod manager make up it's mind about what to install, but when I try to use NMM to do it, it reaches about half way and completely freezes up my computer, forcing me to do a hard reset. So, if anyone can help, I'd be really happy! :D
  5. MatterMaster >> Thanks for the heads up on that mod, the RocketBoy/RocketMan weapons where almost exactly what I was looking for. TYVM n_n
  6. Sunnie:> My idea was just a possible example based more on the shape/form of the weapon model than the 'actual' mechanics behind the weapon the ingame model is supposed to represent. Example: A weapon that uses a clip/drum to hold rocket ammunition to be spring fed into a 'rifle' type launcher for semi automatic fire, instead of the hail of rockets you get from the Red Glare. Anyway, there's my further two cents. And thanks MatterMaster, I'll take a look at that Mod.
  7. Hello everyone! I am who I am, and I've been looking around and can't really find any mods that introduce other weapons that use the Rocket ammo introduced in LR. The main idea I had was a weapon like the 25mm Grenade APW from GRA using rockets instead of grenades, but I failed terribly at doing it myself. There's other possibilities as well, but I leave that to whoever might be interested in setting something like this up. Anyway, thanks for reading my request.
