  1. This just started happening today. I've been playing with the mods I have, including the Unofficial series of patches for 60 hours so far without issue. Last night, it was fine. However, with the hurricane I lost power for a split second, and then started having issues. I've done the usual that I can think of going to verifying the game, etc. to no avail. Let me now explain the issue more in depth. I'm at level 60 ironically too. So this earlier level 60 save I have, goes back about an hour, I can always load without issue. Saving from there, whether its manual, auto, or quick, results in the issue. Enable USKP, UHFP, and Hearthfire Crash Disable USKP | Enable UHFP and Hearthfire No Crash Enable USKP | Disable UHFP and Hearthfire No crash ***Always the same result with other mods on and off Weirdly enough, if I leave the three enabled and go to that somewhat earlier save I was talking about, it loads all the time. I can then load every further save from the menu or in my session and they will load with no issues. If I try to load any further save directly after launching the game, CTD. Can anyone think of anything? Like I said, it just started after the slight power outage. I've made sure any hardware on my side is okay. Running an SSD so chkdsk isn't required. Stress tested eh CPU/GPU for a bit, okay. Health of everything else, okay as far as I can tell. I've cleaned the Bethesda files with TES5Edit, and scanned nearly all of the others (which had no dirties). Tried throwing back in the dirty .esm's, still nothing different. Worst comes to worst I'll just not use USKP, but would like to try to attempt to like before with Hearthfire/UHFP. I'm gonna go to bed now so I'll check back tomorrow.
  2. You're a life saver lol Not sure why, but Afterburner is always the last thing I think of that might be forcing an issue. So yeah, running it off fixed it. Just means I have to alt tab and reload it on.
  3. I've just started to play again since November. After updating everything, figured I'd give SkyUI a go this time around since I never got to it back then. So Skyrim is the latest version. Downloaded SKSE 1.4.14 (for patch 1.5.24). Then I threw the .exe and 2 .dll's located on the download, and ignored the src folder since I do not create mods, into the root Skyrim folder (yes, not into Data, but steamapps > skyrim\). I might also add now that I use the ENB Series mod (Skyrim Enhanced Shaders FX-latest version). I use the d3d9.dll and not the enbinjector.exe. I tried the injector in case, but same result. So I launch skse_loader.exe. In a second, a small box appears top left like its loading an application. Then the screen goes black and I see my OSD from MSI Afterburner where I put it, so the game does load up. And before it even gets to the main menu or video (I re-added the video to see for the heck of it), my desktop reappears (crash) and its gone from processes. This is regardless of anti-virus status, admin status (as I am administrator, but ticked it anyhow), etc. Does anyone know how to fix this? This is my first time even trying to use SKSE so I'm at a lost here  I've uploaded the logs in case. Looking through them myself, I'm not seeing anything out of the ordinary such as warnings or the such.
  4. Don't thank me, thank Monochrome Wench  So far his work has my vote for the month.
  5. Thanks for the link I'll try this now. I suggest all of you try that link. Personally, v1.1 of his 4GB patcher didn't work for me last night. v1.3 this afternoon worked perfectly for me and went without a CTD all day. It will not work for all 100% of you, but it will work for the majority. Unless that 4GB patcher refuses to work for you, wait for a new version upload of it and use what I said in page 1 meantime. I had to do precisely that for a bit.
  6. This really pissed me off, even though I love the game to death. Who the hell wears only one ring if they have all the money in the world? Every woman I see has at least two! If that's the case, like you said, who's to know if another body slot can't be added? A modder whose possibly tried this would know. But it seems logical to presume it can be done. After all, most of the work is done when it comes to the actor such as the texture, physics, wireframe, etc.
  7. Guess I'm not the only one who thought they unintentionally added the feature to do so, saw it, and removed it. Then there was one guy who said he had a registry fix to get it to work regardless of the patch (which his how I understood it, correct me if I'm wrong). But it only seemed to work for him. I just don't understand why some publishers/developers do this sort of thing. If there's a third party fix the community found and it does NO HARM at all, why fight it? What are you going to get out of doing that except for angering everyone? Sometimes I just don't understand :wallbash: lol
  8. Seems Bethesda is closing all those threads, including the one I posted from where I found it. At first I wasn't certain if they actually intended locking out methods like the LAA, but now I'm getting pretty sure they're doing something along those lines and its definitely not right.
  9. Ratch, I'd also suggest tyrying to see waht you can get out of Gigabyte support. Yes the board you have claims to support AM3, but it is an AM2+ socket board. They could've added an AM3 socket to it with their newest revision, which is possible you have an older revision. And I've heard of quite a few issues with older north/south bridges and the X6 CPUs, although I know so little about all the fuss on that so take it like a grain of salt. EDIT: reading more on the specs http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3303#ov I think they did what I said and replaced the socket in a revision to AM3. Again, not sure which revision you have. Basically, AM2+ doesn't support AM3. ASUS even just revised a few of their Crosshair IV boards to support AM3+ sockets and I'm stuck with AM3 now lol
  10. I love the site Kotaku. For the first time it seems they released a benchmark for the samething, as Tomshardware did. http://kotaku.com/5861454/just-how-cpu+melting-is-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-played-at-max-settings I know the game is said to utilize 2 cores only, but that I7-3960X or whatever it is, which is a 6 core, obviously new specs and such, at the same clocks, got a 10+ frame boost. So its hard to say. My 1055T, it won't utilize all 6 cores near 100%, but each core is at least >60% load. Most games designed to only use 2 cores, won't recognize a 5th and 6th core at all. Which is most games though. And as said, Skyrim is apparently very heavily CPU bound. Ratch, yes hte CPU can be considered a bottleneck for a game which uses the CPU very heavily, say Skyrim or BF3, etc. But for your video card, it is not bottlenecking that. Merely only the game at best. Never even knew they mad 9400 XTs :s
  11. I've heard from several places that this update ignored that setting - the update was forced through even if people had opted out of auto-update. There is something up with those people only for some reason. I've heard that too. But pretty much everyone I've seen do it including my friends on Steam who did it around 5min ago, it shows v1.1 under the menu ingame now and Steam doesn't even try to bother updating it. That Steam option SHOULD stop it from updating and if it continues to update, then obviously Steam Support needs to be contacted for tech help with the Steam client. Could be that Steam realised that forcing gamebreaking DRM on people may not have been the best move? Also, I might have been reading your post wrong, but 1.1 was the release day patch - this 'update' shouldn't have done anything other than encrypting the .exe. Are yo sure you're not looking at the release day patch? The release day patch was either v1.0 or below v1.1.21.0. I am running v1.1.21.0 which is the patch they released right after launch, very soon. As far as I know that is the newer release day patch since they never patched it since except for today. Today it is v1.2. Even when I first installed the game on release (got it via mail in hand) I had to patch it, so I know I'm not running the original, but the quickie they threw into Steam, soon after release. Regardless if its the original or not, speaking generally, it works with those two patches, which is good for a lot of people.
  12. Works for XP and Vista. Vista has Shadow volume copies like 7. With XP, you either have to have the original .exe on you, or find it online somewhere. You could also search through the disc if you bought it in hand and get the original launch day .exe which was patched soon after launch too.

  14. If I'm not mistaken Vista has a shadow copy feature. And yes, you either need to have it backed up or have system protection enabled which shadow copies and it wont work on XP unless you backed up the .exe manually. I'm not sure if system restores revery .exe's, as it usually keeps files the same and doesn't revert files only-that would be the only other way of doing it for XP (if it does change .exe's back to older ones). All I can suggest is you find the v1.1 .exe somewhere online. I will not post a link to something like that since I don't feel like violating the Terms and Agreements.
