  1. No one has had this issue? I wonder if a Windows update did this.
  2. So, I've been happily playing Fallout 3 until one day, randomly, FOMM just crashed as soon as I clicked it. It immediately reports it has encountered a problem, Windows is looking for a solution, and then even that screen disappears (usually in a couple of seconds). I've gone into C:\Games\FalloutNV\Install Info and C:\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3\Install Info and deleted the first install log file, renamed the second one by taking out the ".bak" trick. I've also tried re-installing FOMM to no avail. I can access FO3 through Steam, but I immediately and consistently get warning messages stating FOWE cannot detect FOSE. Any ideas?
  3. Now I'm thoroughly confused. Steam installed Fallout 3 to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 3 goty. I went back to the FOSE zip file, extracted it to THAT folder and successfully started Fallout 3 with the fose_loader file AND the Launch Game -> Launch FOSE option from FOMM. I have no idea why I have Fallout 3 installed so many times. Thank you for your help.
  4. Together, these statements are confusing. Anyhow, C:\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3 is where my Fallout3.exe and FOSE (now) are. However, \Fallout3 in the above line is a folder, whereas C:\Bethesda Softworks also has some Fallout files, but much less. C:\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3 has all the files it looks like, including the Data, Install Info and Mods folders. To make that make sense, if I navigate to C:\Bethesda Softworks, I have Data and Fallout 3 folders and a bunch of Fallout files, including an executable and the .dll files. If I navigate to the Fallout 3 folder, I find Data, Install Info and Mods folders as well as a bunch of Fallout files. I don't know why the game is in two different folders. Maybe when I routed FOMM to the Fallout folder I miss clicked and it created another? Actually, after I post this, I'm going to see what directory Steam installed to then delete (or copy over) the extra files from the other install and map FOMM to that.
  5. It is, but FOMM tells me "FOSE does not appear to be installed".
  6. I have the steam version of FO3: GotY (my discs just don't work anymore). I promptly downloaded FOMM, FWE, an a couple of other mods. I also downloaded FOSE and manually installed it into C:\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3 (even though C:\Bethesda Softworks also seems to have some FO3 files). I've also downloaded the Windows Live patch. When I run FOSE from C:\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3, the game starts, shows the first slide, then crashses. I've been googling for about an hour and can't find a solution to FOSE itself crashing the game (everyone seems to think just copying the files over solves everything). I also have Windows 8 installed. Any help would be appreciated!
  7. But what is done incorrectly, if all files are exactly where the instructions specify and the NVSE version in game is "2"?
  8. What do you do if the NVSE Version is ALWAYS 2, no matter what you uninstall/reinstall or where you put it?
  9. I've finished FO3 (again) and have decided to try and play NV. I already have FOMM installed for my mods in FO3. I have tried loading Project Nevada with NVSE. I've tried starting directly from the NVSE executable; I've right clicked the steam icon to launch NV; I've uninstalled and re-installed NV; I've tried launching NVSE from FOMM; I've checked NVSE with console commands; I've launched NV fine with just NVSE. However, whenever both Project Nevada and NVSE are installed, Project Nevada can't find NNVSE no matter what I do. I've tried every solution I've found on google so far. Any other advice?
  10. I finally get everything up and running....FO3 GotYE, FOMM, FOWE, etc. I start the game up, no problems or crashes....and then FOWE tells me it needs FOSE. I go to the webpage provided, download the Script Extender, and install it through FOMM like I did the other mods. BUTTTTT...even though FOSE shows up in the Package and File Manager in FOMM, it doesn't show up on the main screen showing the DLC and mods loaded, and my Launch Fallout 3 button doesn't switch to Launch FOSE. Yes, I have the most current versions of everything, and I've tried logging off of Live.
  11. I tried, with no luck. I recieved a different error message, something along the lines of "Unable to synch." I'll keep trying Steam and see if they'll let me use my GotYE edition codes to get new DLC.
  12. I understand this is a rather common problem, and one web page I visited stated that there was a bad batch of CD's sent out for GotYE. When I try and install the DLC the standard way, I get the error: Feature: Default Feature Componet: Plugin File: D:\EN_Fallout_3_DLC.EXE Error: The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error. I have done EVERYTHING that I have read on the web for it. 1). Tried to copy and paste (then just dragged) the DLC content off the CD onto the desktop. 2). Went into Safe Mode to try and install. 3). Followed the steps in http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?showtopic=120735. 4). Screwed around in Program Manager. I think (and I'm hardly computer savvy) that it's simply a bad disk. I have been able to install in the past, but this is the first time on Windows 7. I also tried entering the game codes into Steam (no luck) and I can't find a way to install a game through Windows Live that I didn't buy from WIndows Live. Any suggestions?
  13. My Fallout Mod Manager will not accept my Nexus forums passwords (copied & pasted log in name, triple checked password, etc.). Is this a bug with a quickfix?
