  1. Tried to replicate the problem with a few other pieces of armor and couldn't get it to happen again, just this one armor and no matter how many times I re-make it. :wallbash:
  2. Well, heres hoping one of you nif wizards can help a poor bloke out  Was throwing up a mesh edit this morning for Dragonplate to give it some sleeves, and I ran into the strangest glitch that, for the life of me, I just can't iron out. Everything went smoothly untill I got knocked around abit and had to pop a healing spell, to which I then noticed the sleeves I had textured lit up like Christmas trees when I had any kind of aura apply to the character. Here's some screenshots to show what I mean, top is normal, bottom is with aura active: http://i.imgur.com/rlpPc.jpg http://i.imgur.com/WW6aq.jpg I've messed with everything I personally know of that would cause this to no avail, do any of you know off the top of your head what would be causing this, or would be willing to take a gander at my meshes?
  3. To check your weapon speed for the current equipped weapon, bring up the console (default ~ key) and type: "player.getav weaponspeedmult" the default vanilla speed is 100. To set the weapon speed, type: "player.setav weaponspeedmult #" The # being what speed you want of course. If you check the speed and it says 100 to begin with, try changing it to another number then back to 100 again and see if it returns to normal.
  4. Nothing is there. All I see is a huge list of video games in the Library., that says "Not Installed." Restart Steam and you will see Creation Kit under Tools in the Steam. In that video games list right? Cuz I still don't see it. IF you don't mind could you send me a copy of the Creation Kit.exe? http://i.imgur.com/x4hGo.jpg
  5. The HD Texture Pack is in .bsa format hooked to use by an .esp, so any texture mods you already have should override it, if I'm not mistaken.
  6. I'm pretty impressed as well, it almost seems like they took some ideas from shadeMe's Construction Set Extender and applied them here.
  7. The analogy was more hinting at, it's the way it works and you'll just have to deal with it.
  8. There is no alternate way of downloading the Creation Kit, and at this time providing one would be quite illegal. I hate car insurance, but I still have to pay it to drive my car.
  9. 1. Make sure you aren't a pirate. 2. Press steam tab "View" 3. Select "Tools" 4. It should be in there somewhere. I checked in Tools and it aint there... And Now [eople say the HD pack was 3 gigs,, it was 40MB for me What the hell is going on here? And dont worry i spent 150 Euros on the game... Collectors edition lol... if only for that lovely artbook <3 Restart Steam. http://i.imgur.com/x4hGo.jpg
  10. I've only briefly played around with the HD Texture Pack, but so far it looks pretty all inclusive, meaning it's bumped almost every texture I've run into (that I can tell) up nicely, and it also doesn't seem to be as demanding as 2k Textures, so far, at least.
  11. Yes, :P Edit - I got it to work by overwriting the shader property with a different meshs. Now I just need to hunt the settings down that prevented it from showing up in game the "clean" way.
  12. Followed that the best I could considering I'm not using 3ds max for the simplest of texture swaps and still have the same issue, renders fine with no problems in Nifskope (barring the block type error) but reverts back to default once in game. I also get massive errors when using anything but the default nif.xml : \
  13. 2k Textures is known to cause crashes, as for the ini, compare it to the original ini and change things 1 line at a time, then test out in game until you can determine the setting that is making you crash. Tedious, I know, but if you want the best look possible you gotta fight for it.
  14. 2k Textures is known to cause some frequent CTD's, try without that and see if you still get crashes.
  15. What are your computer specs? Which mods are you trying to use? Can't really help till you list those, as it could be the particular mod, or your GPU not being powerful enough to load large/extra textures.
  16. To which tutorial are you referring? The basic one @ http://cs.elderscrolls.com/index.php/NifSkope_Comprehensive_Guide? Or is there an updated one with information relating to Skyrim specifically? I've looked around quite abit and haven't found anything myself, so perhaps you can save me :P
  17. Ugh, that's a very crappy problem to run into. First, restart your computer, after you are booted up go into your Skyrim root folder, you'll see the steam_api.dll, move this to another location i.e desktop, then verify integrity of game cache through steam, this is found by right clicking the game in the steam window, selecting properties then local files. This will redownload your steam_api.dll, if the game works it means your .dll simply had been corrupted and it's a lot faster then reinstalling the entire game. If the game still fails to load, you will need to reinstall steam completely as your installation itself may have been corrupted, this means also getting rid of it's registry hooks, this can be done with a program like CCleaner: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner, after cleaned restart your computer and redownload a fresh copy of steam.
  18. I've been having the same issue, albeit I haven't dabbled with Nifskope since Morrowind and and am really rusty, I still thought I knew plenty enough to get a simple mesh retexture in-game. My issue is simply trying to retexture over skin, like you, everything renders/shows up fine in Nifskope, but in game acts like the normal mesh, as if it was un-altered. The one in question is the Dragonbone armor, I'm trying to add chainmail over where it would show bare skin. I'm also getting the same error,"Link points to wrong block type," and I can't figure it out for the life of me. Are you using BSAopt to extract meshes? I was wondering if maybe they were being corrupted on converting, that's the only thing I could think of.
  19. I had already tried reverting to the default shader packs, but I'd figure I'd re-download and try again. Turns out it was simply one of my backups being corrupted. :wallbash: Would there be anyway to rectify this while forcing the 3.0 shader, or is that a rather lost cause due to the official lack of support for it?
  20. Howdy, I'm having the most annoying glitch in my recent install. In a select few interiors I'm getting weird (shader, I assume) distortions at specific camera angles, the first only seem to come about in Ayleid cells, however, where there is fog present. The distortions cause a kaleidoscope effect at very random camera angles and seem to project shadows from the surroundings that should be obscured by walls/doors/etc. When in 3rd person view these distortions, if they land across my character, remove his hair mesh and hide parts of water in slices. The only other areas I get anomalies in is Battlehorn Castle and a few houses in Bruma(Better Cities) again, only the interiors are affected, but with these two at random camera angles the shadows flash on and off like they are rotating between normal and the bFullBrightLighting ini setting, no kaleidoscoping here, I assume because of the lack of fog shader. I've tested every active mod I have with Wrye Bash and TES4edit and nothing conflicts, which led me to believe it was my oblivion.ini, however I hard reset that and the problem persisted. I also had reverted to the default shaders(I had been forcing SM3.0) still a no go, I also ruled out the known fog glitch with Streamline as I encountered this problem before I installed it. Definitely not a overheating issue, my GPU is at 32c while playing (MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr II). I'm completely stumped here, and I'm kind of just hoping for a shot-in-the-dark answer from someone who might of encountered this before. I'm not a lightweight with my modding, and honestly this issue only happens in locations I hardly frequent but it still grates on me, ya' know? My load order - My oblivion.ini - Some SS's of the issue: Normal - http://i51.tinypic.com/fw3k88.jpg Not normal -http://i51.tinypic.com/15qsx1g.jpg
  21. Don't know if anyone else has answered you yet, but in DR v5 you can only kick (with grab key, default is "z") after causing your opponent to stumble/stagger, so after a successful bash or blocked power attack is a good time to try it.
  22. For all those looking for some CGI Armor, check out the Trailer Edition mod at the bioware social site: http://social.bioware.com/project/966/#details It's a WIP but so far has added a decent rendition of Leliana's CGI armor. Personally I would really like to see someone splice out the Revenant's sword model for PC use, such a great model and it's a shame you can't attain it, especially since all the data is already there.
