  1. This is definitely correct information. Let me add to it just a little by pasting what I put in the comments for a specific mod. Because some people might be new to texture modding and want to know how to get this function enabled, Here are very simple instructions. If you have installed DSfix there is a file called dsfix.ini in your data folder for dark souls. Open it with notepad. Look for the part which says enableTextureOverride 0 (it's just a little up from the bottom) Change the 0 to 1. Unless you plan to make your own texture mods from scratch, then do not bother editing enableTextureDumping. Please note, this adds a delay to your loading screens if you have texture mods added. Save the file this way. Go into the DSfix folder and you will find the folder tex_override Just drag and drop ALL the png's from the texture mod you have downloaded into this folder. Done. Needless to say, all this should be done while Dark Souls isn't on. After this is all done, go ahead and launch the game. There will be a 4 second added load time to all of your save loading screens, including after death and after homeward bone or homeward miracle. Enabling texture dumping adds another 4 seconds, so that's why I say don't bother with it unless you plan to make your own texture mods. Hope this helps someone.
