  1. Good day to you all. So i'm basically here to ask out for help and or directions to guides and tutorials with using FO4Edit specifically to mod everything to do with weapons. Now i've seen the sticky topic, and as helpful as that is in general modding i'm here to learn (and hopefully others too) about what the hell most of the stuff means in FO4Edit when scrolling through their data. I am looking for pointers as to how to edit the following: Base weapon spread - i've noticed that even a sniper rifle with long barrel doesn't always shoot where you point it, and i find it infuriating for long range sniping as headshots are too much of a risk of missing and giving your position away. However i think this can be remedied with the barrel modifications as they can be edited to reduce spread. But for automatic and semi-automatics i would like to be able to make the first shot always accurate (at least for long barrels)Adding/Removing available weapon mods - this bit overwhelms me... so many 'unknown' values for things. Is there a way to add in a new parent for the sake of offering more mods to a weapon, or even for adding more changeable attributes to a particular weapon mod. For example; say i want to increase the damage multiplier on some automatic receivers, but because some auto receivers have a 1X multiplier to damage (hardened or something) the stat simply isn't there to be modified. How could i add this in?I can't think of any more for the moment, but to all the weapon modders out there i'd like in on the action  and would appreciate any help on anything that is used for the weapon mods (standalone/balance patches) that are currently out there on the nexus. Thanks in advance!
  2. just while this is still active, a quick quick question; With regards to copying Mod folders over into the Data folder, should i just copy over the root folder or is it okay to put the end files in the appropriate folder if one already exists from another Mod? or will the associated .esp get arsey if the folder name isn't exactly right? e.g LaserWeapons and laserweapons (the capital letters are different)
  3. Right, well thank you for taking the time to explain all of that! I'm done here now, thanks to you good sir! Good day :)
  4. Why? He is probably the one who could help you the most. That's the reason why you can post issue reports on the mods' pages. I heard that it's general etiquette to do everything i can before contacting the mod author, and instead of wasting his time another poster helped me. (It turns out in this case I was the problem, but it's better for someone else to make me realise that than waste the mod author's time) Thank you so much! i tried using the console before to try and add the items but i'm a little new to the console. i only knew to add the 4 with 'help XXX 4'; so what does the 0 do? or is there a general guide you could direct me that helps a lot with console commands and finding items in general? Also, what exactly does the script extender do? i have it now, but what's it for? Again thank you so much for your quick response
  5. I've tried everything i can think of, even done a complete uninstall and reinstall and manual installation but the Bullet time mod by registrator2000 just won't work for me :'( Is the mod working for anyone else? has anyone else had the same issues? Help. I'm doing everything i can at this point to avoid contacting the author.
  6. Thanks, i appreciate the quick replies so far. The reason I considered doing everything manually is that i would feel more in control - whereas NMM sometimes wouldn't let me set certain options or like i said would sometimes just not install the plugin for some reason - I just want to be careful with it all and don't want NMM to fail me again. I do however plan on merging plugins with FO4edit as so many mods i'm interested in change similar things. Fallout 4 is the only active game on my computer at the moment so i don't mind dedicating time to knowing everything that's going on and make sure i save backups of all mods so i know what to delete when uninstalling. Any advice please, if going down the fully manual route?
  7. Hi all, I apologise if this is elsewhere on the forums but i am tired of looking on the internet for an answer. Basically, I'm new into modding, and started out with Nexus Mod Manager to mod Fallout 4. Eventually i ended up with a lot of mods installed, and started to have problems with some mods not working - and even after looking into load orders and whatnot some mods just refused to be installed through NMM and got me frustrated. so i did a complete uninstall and reinstall of Fallout 4 to start fresh and started compiling a list of all my desired mods. I've even looked into how to use FO4edit to merge plugins of similar mods. Now the big question is, if i don't mind the time and effort of full manual installation of mods (as some mods require that anyway), what are the true benefits of a mod manager like Nexus mod manager other than 'it speeds things up'. I've also heard of Mod organiser (2?), but can't find any helpful information on what this is or if it's any good. So which is the best way to mod.... NMM (Nexus Mod Manager)Mod organiserManual installation - which i am confident in doing now Thanks in advance
  8. i've personally never come accross a plugin.ini file before; where is it located for you?
  9. Thanks for your insights. The very first thing i did was put the mod in question to the bottom of the load order... and nothing. maybe it's the latest patch then as the Fallout 4 patches tend to mess up modding each time. i'll just wait for an updated version of the mod. And with regards to Using a manager, i do - i used it loads before. But sometimes it just won't work through the mod manager and i need to do it manually for certain options. or sometimes a mod just 'won't' install on nexus mod manager because reasons.
  10. Hello all, my first post on here - just looking for some help. This is my first time modding and I am willing to accept i've messed up somewhere. Basically, a favourite mod of mine ceased to work (Bullet Time) for some reason or another and at the time I had probably 40 or 50 active plugins (i'm an addict now) so I started playing around with the load order to see if that was causing issues. Long story short i ended up completely uninstalling and installing Fallout 4 again (this time with a backup folder) and started the modding process again slowly and carefully. Started with the PRC photorealism textures and plugin (which i had before uninstalling) and added a couple other mods to realise that the bullet time plugin will just not work in-game. Before i uninstalled fallout 4 initially i noticed other new plugins were also not working for whatever reason - namely the wait anywhere mod. I have a suspicion that the Phototrealism texture mod and plugin seem to be stopping other certain mods, or am i missing something? Someone please help me identify the problem so i can freely use all the mods i want to use
