  1. Current tasks involve the installation and setup of "Essential" Tools / Utilities that act as a base for potential mods. Stuck in regards to ENB and ENBoost (See comment below, originally written under the comments for the -latest?- ENBoost which is 6.0 located here:http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/73618/?tab=4&&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fcomments%2F%3Fmod_id%3D73618%26page%3D1%26sort%3DDESC%26pid%3D0%26thread_id%3D3815010&pUp=1.) Can someone help me install Enboost please so I can have it prepared for things in the future? I'm new to modding and I'm currently working through getting the essential tools such as this, that act as base for numerous things I might want. I would like to have ENboost but to still have the power to start using an ENB in the future if it's something I would like. I have been looking at things in pieces up to this day and I've honestly spent the most of today just trying to learn / understand ENB but I'm completely stuck because of contradicting comments on pages etc (Such as Sheson Memory patch in relation to 1.7.3 SKSE and setting up SKSE.ini) and all the different sources for what is actually needed. I did make a post on the skyrim mod talk forums but it's not really gone anywhere, same for the main thread I made and use for the bulk of my "Journey" learning modding. Heard a lot of good stuff about the community that's been built up but frankly I currently don't feel welcome at all and that I'm wasting time asking questions. What MO do I use? Latest of NMM What is currently downloaded / installed? Latest versions of the following: Tools / utilities: SKSE, SUM, SKYUI, TES5EDIT, CREATION KIT, WYREBASH, LOOT. Patches: USLEEP and Hi - RES. Mods: A Quality World Map, SMIM, Skyrim HD 2k. What are the other Tools / Utilities I might need and wish to download? DyndoLOD, FNIS, XP32 Maxium Skeleton, Skyrim Performance Plus. There are fixes that I have my eye on or even must have as well for potential mods. In terms of ENB and ENBOOST I have been using 16 (Maybe more) reputable sources of information. I understand this is a big thing to do for Skyrim but for me personally it's hard to understand at the moment. From which I have discovered about CPU parking and Timer Resolution which prompted me to download windows timer tool and the CPU parking that is under Project Stability.
  2. Hi, I've been working through installing tools, utilities and patches but I'm confused with ENB. I have read and watched pretty much ALL sources of information I could find these past hours to which I'm still staring at this second. Using information currently from here: http://www.theassimilationlab.com/forums/topic/15167-enboost-and-skyrim-memory-patch-configuration-guide/ It's the second section: That has me confused. 2 - Skyrim Memory Patch Commands compatible with SKSE 1.7.3 and higher It is stated there that "The old version of Sheson's Skyrim Memory Patch is deprecated (And considered obsolete) by his new version, which is present in SKSE. Have in mind that the instructions are mainly aimed to people which have never installed SKSE 1.7.3 or higher." I have the latest SKSE installed but I've gotten myself confused because looking at the memory patch it just states that it now allows SKSE to adjust rather then it being "Present in SKSE". I also don't have the instructed folders so I'm wondering if I need to do that step or go straight to 3 - ENboost How do I move forward in installing the proper things so that I can have the effects of ENboost now and at a later date start using an ENB if I desire? What is the correct and current things for a beneficial but also working Skyrim? (Not special edition). A lot of what I'm doing is just wanting be prepared for things in advance, I'm new to modding but I want to get the various things I feel I might need that are essential bases for things to come. Getting these first and sorted before adding all the mods I'm interested in. Want all the sources I've been using? 3. So in today's attempt at trying to learn a little more I stumbled upon this. Skyrim Project Stability by GrandBulwark (Forgot to add link: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/32363/?) Looking through it seems to have a ton of useful information that I'm able to understand slightly easier then some other things I've seen. I've ignored the first bits in regards to different stuff specifically for your system as I am no where near good enough for that and don't feel safe. But I am reading through the rest and as I'm doing so I'm wondering if this is all current and applicable? If you haven't seen my main thread all ready, I'm essentially extremely new to modding so I have s*** tons to learn... I did take note that the guide specifies soul use for Win 7 and I'm wondering how this is for Win 10, the latest ver of Skyrim - SKSE- NMM - TES5EDIT - LOOT - Wyre Bash. I have also seen the pinned threads by Gromulous under Trouble Shooting but haven't gone into to much yet as I'm currently at an information overload to a degree that's clashing with an impairment to my concentration amongst other things that I won't go into as it's personal. The information in these threads by Gromulous is more or less accurate I assume? More so with the Merge Patch and Wyre Patch thread as it was this year.
  4. It's not so much about comfort but more so trying to understand things and some essential technicalities with impaired concentration etc, because of my current situation which is personal. Let's just say it's rare when I'm actually able to do something and this modding stuff has been the first thing in months to actually get my attention + some actual enjoyment to an extent. Sorry if I sound annoyed or anything, I'm just feeling pretty defeated at the moment.
  5. I am getting such an overload now that I'm trying to figure out mods as I browse. There are so many tools and in all honesty it's leaving me completely stumped. It's like a chain that doesn't end which I was afraid of, e.g A mod requires a certain tool to do a required thing. But to do said action you need stated fix and or script from this mod / program. Oh but don't forget you also need this to let that work etc etc I can easily see how peoples lists become so huge or people shy away from this. I genuinely feel freaking useless right now. Trying to figure out what things are outdated or redundant by incorporation is another headache seeing I'm joining the scene so late and a lot of stuff is dated.
  6. I did have a look at SMIM's recommendation to Sky Falls And Sky Mills which then went straight to DyndoLOD which is again out of my current scope sadly :/
  7. On another note back in line with my thread. I've more or less spent the bulk of today looking into some mods to install next which are as follows. Static Mesh Improvement - Skyrim HD 2K Textures - Realistic Water Two - Enhanced Lights And FX (And then the SMIM Meshes)- Ruins Clutter Improved - Climates Of Tamriel. I have tried my best to read through as much as possible including some of the recommendations as suggested. (Some things required Bash Patches though such as the Complete Crafting Overhall and I haven't worked my way to installing and learning WyreBash yet  - There are other things outside of my current capabilities that caught my interest as well such as all these things related to ENB which I struggled to understand.) I'm pretty worn out to say the least so to anyone reading this I'm sorry for that. I would like to just get some clarification that I'm doing things correctly. The mods listed above I have written in that order because it seems they should be installed in that order based on what I have read. For example I found a comment under the posts for RCI from the creator on the 13th / 26th Dec that stated the instructions on the SMIM were outdated and the order (Including ELFX) should be as followed: "Here you go: 1. SMIM 2. ELFX 3. RCI" "The discription on the SMIM modpage regarding RCI is outdated. Follow my instructions until the next SMIM update." However a user by the name Jfletcher2 asked a question from May this year: "There has been an update, not to the file, but to the SMIM page. Does that mean we go back to the original order? Or still the order you suggested?" This has left me feeling a little confused after what I've done today and left me a little unsure how to do things as to which mod instructions I should follow. I also read and viewed that COT is compatible with ELFX which I also viewed in an episode of Mod Sanctuary by Gopher. The only advice I could find was that because of the range that COT possesses some weather effects from ELFX might not be seen and another bit of advice I found in posts was to keep ELFX for interiors and COT for Exteriors. In relation to the water texture mod - RW2 - I did see under it's comparability that it should over write everything including any HD texture Mod such as Skyrim HD. Meaning it's best to install it third in the above list but the plugins must go after anything that changes cells near water so should be loaded near the end. Am I getting the right idea more or less and is this correct? I hope to proceed with my modding experience sometime tomorrow but not tonight as it's now getting late and I need to eat amongst other things :pinch:
  8. Thank you for all the aid you've been giving me, I honestly appreciate it. I must admit though I do kind of feel a little bad that you've been doing this alone, sorry for that  Wonder if I did anything wrong with my thread for that to occur. (I haven't forgot NidhoggValkyrian's comment but yeah). Is there anything I could do for you?
  9. :laugh:YOU ARE ALL GODS! Honestly, sincerely and deeply, thank you. I'm glad to finally be starting to learn these things and to be a part of something I enjoyed viewing. I have literally more or less only just started and with what I have spent this past week or two looking at has blown me away. The amount of work, effort and support you have all created is put simply. Bloody amazing. So thank you very much again, you honestly made me feel some happiness in a time where I thought it didn't exist due to personal stuff.
  10. Thank you for that, I did have a quick look and I'm just simply being amazed by the amount of work that has gone into these things. Like seriously, you people seem like gods to me right now and I sincerely thank each and every one of you for what you do. Done a bloody good job. In terms of a personal update I believe I am more or less there. Managed to install NMM, SKSE, TES5EDIT, LOOT, Unofficial patches, Backed up NMM details and plugins, cleaned the masters including the extra manual wild edits. Now just going to proceed to the mods them self such as SkyUI. Is there anything you think I might have missed or would need?
  11. Wasn't overly familiar but I can say I'm eager to play soon without some of the things I've seen. Think the worse I saw from my session yesterday was upon leaving a shop in Solitude I believe, I found an npc just inside the dividing wall for the shops opposite. Only had his arms and legs poking out which was kind of amusing.
  12. This was very informative and helpful to me starting my journey. Thank you very much for doing this.
  13. Not sure what you are asking? These mods will be in working order if you place them in the correct load order. The Unofficial Patches tell you in the description exactly where they are to be placed. The unofficial patch corrects various errors in the original game. Ah sorry for the confusion, with this question the thought I had in mind was that because this is a patch that covered lots of areas. I got the impression that you wouldn't be able to directly see a result in game so to say which would confirm that everything is running okay and is installed. Where as something that added a new weapon or something I could go find, see it there and use it etc to know it works. I hope that made things a little clearer :S I have finished downloading those and put them in the correct load order using loot so it should be okay hopefully. Now just working on cleaning Bethesda's files but not the skyrim master as instructed by Gopher.
  14. Cleaning with TES5EDIT Question: In Gophers Video on this topic there is a missing DLC, the DragonBorn one. Do I just add that to the selection and proceed accordingly? EDIT, I just realised he mentions this later in the video. I'm an idiot so disregard this question. Video Link:
