  1. Ive been googling and googling to no avail. Ive been through ENBs (Skyrocketed temps), RLO (Got funny torch blackouts every now and then where my torch would be out and he wall in front of me would be pitch black), and finally settled on ELFX. Except, ELFX is missing darker nights. I've tried a few standalone darker nights mods and either they *look* good, but the difference between clear nights and cloudy/foggy/rainy nights is non-existent. Its all the same regardless of the weather. Most of them just decrease brightness of everything around you so even torches, fires, braziers all look darker as well as the surrounding environment. Does anyone know of a mod that would work for me? I'm willing to try out some ENBs as I think I got my temp situation stabilized. Or a standalone darker nights mod that is compatible with ELFX? Going to try darker caves dungeons ruins towers nights and see how it looks. I just want the nights to be bright(er) on clear nights and damn near pitch black on stormy nights. Save for the lightning. ~Predicament
  2. I'll post a pic. But just go to river wood and wait there until about 7 or 8 am and look to the east where the sky meets the throat of the world. You won't see the sun cresting the mountain yet, but every building in river wood will have a shadow as if the mountains aren't there. Maybe I'm just crazy, tedious, or too observant for my own (sky rim) good. Thank you to those who take the time to tell me if you see what I see.
  3. Anyone know of a mod or know how to create a mod where the BIG mountains actually cast shadows? This is driving me nuts. Looking up at the sky in the morning and the sun is behind a mountain and when I look down on the ground I see sunlight casting shadows and illuminating the grass. This breaks my immersion so hardcore. Same thing goes for some architecture in the game. Its almost like the sun and the shadows don't match up very well.. Like Ill stand next to the shadow of a building and the sun's rays are hitting the ground where I am but the sun will be behind the building, out of sight. To my knowledge, when something is blocking the sun's rays it casts a shadow, yet this is not the case in Tamriel apparently. Makes zero sense to me. Very immersion breaking IMO. Ive tried the ini tweak but all that does is allow mountains to cast shadows on themselves. The shadows don't reach the ground, sadly. Any help appreciated. Would an ENB help with this? I understand that if this was the case then a LOT of Skyrim would be in the shadows of the boundary mountains for the better part of the morning and evening but not being able to see the sun, yet it's still able to cast shadows is batshit crazy.
  4. Or you could just use the console to increase your carry weight to some weird amount. Like set it to 10,000. Then you wouldnt need to even store things and you could do it on your own without having to wait for someone to release said mod. player.setav.carryweight (#) Where (#) would be your desired carrying weight. Further into your post you mentioned wanting access to shopkeepers inventory? Player.additem (#) Where (#) is the item ID. Can be obtained from Skyrim wiki.
  5. Not to nitpick.... gold is one of the SOFTEST ores around. A steel sword would literally cut right through a gold sword. I doubt tempering it with iron or steal would make it stand up to a full blow iron or steel blade. i like emmurshun.
  6. I know this thread is ancient but I hate that sky rim does this. seriously the sun will be behind a freaking mountain yet somehow I cast a shadow like the mountains aren't even there. no sense.
  7. No one can tell me how to sync my shadows up with the position of the sun?
  8. So I play sky rim for immersion. Pure and simple. The game is lovely. Best so game of all time IMO. Anyways, shadows look fine I have a few mods dealing with lighting elfx namely. Again, anyways, shadows don't seem to match up with the sun. Example, in solitude, the buildings cast shadows in the morning, the sun isn't even up yet the buildings are casting shadows. This makes zero sense to me. If the sun is behind a mountain why are buildings casting shadows? Is there an INI tweak I can do to fix this? My guess is the mountains are so far away that sky rims sun just ignores them and only renders the shadows on things nearby. The same thing happens with buildings. If I see a building casting a shadow and I go to where the shadow meets the sunlit ground and look towards the sun I can't see the sun, yet the game is rendering light on the ground as if the sun were there. This breaks my immersion - I'm very tedious. Please help.
  9. So long story short, used enb 113 a while back with superb enb. I had no temp issues to my knowledge. Now with 119 my GPU temps skyrocket. Up to 96 I think is the highest I saw. I was wondering if this is a known issue with 119? I was using superb 119 I believe. Anyways... HD 6950 Amd phenom x4 @ 3.2 GHz 4Gb ram 1600x900 resolution All stock cooling. I run at 60fps+ smooth as buttah with modified high - ultra settings. But my temps freaked me out so I went to climates of tamriel. Any suggestions?
  10. I'm using Super3 ENB and I absolutely LOVE it. Problem is whenever my character moves or turns my entire screen flickers. Really quickly. I've noticed the water doesnt but everything else does. I'm not sure if this is mod related though I don't remember this happening before. Its extremely fast and I wouldnt notice it if I was meticulous. If you need any more info please don't hesitate. Its almost like I'm skipping frames it happens so fast. I really like superb and don't want to uninstall so Im willing to try just about anything. If I'm standing still there is no flicker. But as soon as i turn my screen does it. Not sure what to make of this. AMD phenom x4 840 hd6950 1600x900 4gb ddr3
  11. http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k484/predicament1/ScreenShot5.jpg So a dev from enbdev.com told me this... This is indirect lighting applied to fog at too big distance. There are parameters to decrease distance FadeFogRangeDay, FadeFogRangeNight in enbseries.ini, but i guess this happen because you have installed mod which change fog properties (somekind of "realistic lighting", "realistic weather", etc) and this is known issue then as such mods not configured properly. How do I configure the realistic lighting mod contained in Superl3 ENB so I dont have to change the weather every time it rains or is foggy... Riften SUCKS! Please give me some pointers here. I really, REALLY like superl3 enb. Its beautiful IMO. Let me know what needs to be changed and ill be on it like a fat kid on a stick of margarine. *edit* So the Fograngeday/night were both set to 7, i ramped them up to 20 and it appears to have solved my issue. Though, up close its still half assed happening. Im happy with this. Note to anyone else having this problem 1) locate enbseried.ini in /skyrim 2) control+f > search for fog 3) locate your fograngeday and fograngenight values and ramp em up to 20+ whatever works
  12. are bumps frowned upon? Yes, we give strikes for bumping. Bben46
  13. Little background: Bought and played skyrim on release. My copy ran flawlessly no CTD, no NOTHING. It was bliss. During these times I was running an HD 5670. At about mid-high setting. Good FPS, No CTD. For X-mas I got an HD 6950 2gb, It's flashed to a 6970, shweet! HDD goes bad, pull one from another computer. Stock, HP Western Digital 500gb hdd So currently, Im running wd hdd500 gb m4n68t-v2 Asus Mobo hd 6950 2gb antec hcg 620w PSU amd phenom quad core @ 3.2Ghz 32-bit win7 4gb Ram So after the new hdd, which was installed around 2 months ago, i started experiencing problems. CTDs. Only when my textures were up really high though. I eventually got it all sorted out. It was bad drivers. I stopped playing Skyrim. Fast forward 2 months, here I am I can get constant 60fps with 8x AF, 4x AA, and EVERY other setting @ ultra. Problem is, when I do this, I get CTDs. Ill be running around, doing my thing and like 30 seconds after the game loads and im playing, I crash. I'm running Sounds of Skyrim, all 3 mods. I've attemped this without SoS and I still CTD. So I'm stuck with 4x af and 4x aa, rest ultra. I'm very upset as I want to use a high res texture pack be it beth's, or one from the Nexus. Problem is when I load Beth's I get into game, everything loads and then I crash. Ive recently booted up FO:3 and FO:NV and they both do the same thing. If it was hardware related wouldnt I be lagging before the CTD. Why would I be running @ 60 fps and then crash? I dont understand. PL0X HALP MEH! This happens on NO other game besides skyrim and Fallout 3 and NV. I play Arma2 @ max, WoW @ max, and witcher 2 close to max. all without crashes or lag. What gives? I'm running the MOST recent version of Skyrim, for sure.
  14. Hello, I am extremely new to the whole modding aspect of Oblivion. I have a short and sweet question. Ive downloaded two house mods, i extract them, and i drag and drop all the files from the extracted house mod folder into the bethesda softworks/oblivion/data folder. i start the game, click data files, check the boxes, hit ok, and nothing. I cannot find these house, and i know for a fact im in the right spot as there are maps online to said houses. i need some help, both mods claim they dont need any other mods to install them. One of the mods is Orange Road Cottage, the other is Imperial Manor v7. I found both of them on this site. (sorry, dont have the links) any help would be appreciated.
