  1. Yeah, getting rid of some mods seemed to really do the trick. I have one 146 total plugins right now (including inactive mods) and the game has become stable again, other than a problem I have with House Resort in Camp Golf with the walls not properly loading for some reason. I have exactly 129 plugins active at the moment and the game is (more or less) stable. I'd keep more mods disabled with the Bashed Patch, but some like the Shishkebab No backpack Or Gloves mod and Grunt Perks Expanded seems to kinda? Not actually work, so I had to activate them again. I already have more or less every gameplay altering mod and overhaul I could want and most armors, its just the occasional quest mod (usually bounty hunting mods, if you couldn't tell) I care for at this point. Merging together the More Perks mods alone I think would probably free up a little room. Anything related to basic Item HP, damage, and weight (Cave Fungus going from 1 pound to .02 pounds) I'll just make my own little mod to compile together to decrease the stress. So yeah, all-in-all, I think this thread is probably resolved? My only question is this; for mod merging, what should I keep in mind? Like, I get to only merge similar mods and the like that all do the same thing. Like, all the More Perks mods together account for 12 .esms and .esps altogether. Could I merge the 6 .esm files and the 6 .esp files to bring the mod count down from 12 to 2? Or should I leave .esm files alone? I don't really want to give up the mods I have, so this seems like a good place to start, I think. Thank you all for explaining this problem to me: I don't think I would've figured it out otherwise, since I was running like 200+ mods on Skyrim (32 bit standard edition) with no problem; kinda forgot this game is even older and probably couldn't take as much punishment, so I overestimated what New Vegas could handle. So yeah, if anyone can explain the dos and don'ts of merging mods, I think I'm pretty much set, thanks!
  2. Oh, sorry. I'm using the 4gb patch and I'm using Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 ram sticks with a Radeon RX 580 graphics card (I've heard some ENBs mess up with it, but I've had no problem with Desert ENB so far). This isa brand new gaming PC I just got this month, so I doubt that's the case. I think it's more likely M48A5's suggestion. I uninstalled just a few mods to see if something was messing up my bash patch in general, with just 7 gone (mostly NV Restoration mods, like A Van Graff Scorned, because I forgot they were already integrated into Freeside Open) and it seems to be... working better now? With Christmas Eve and all that I wasn't able to really test it out yet, but in half an hour of playing it didn't happen again: that's far more than I've been playing it so far without the game crapping out. Since this computer is playing Guild Wars 2 world events on ultra with like no lag, I highly doubt its a failure. I thought the mod limit for New Vegas was 256 like Skyrim, and I run 200+ mods on that game: looking around, apparently 140 is when NV starts crapping up? And man, I really thought inactive files didn't count towards that load, I'll remember that. If that's the case though, is there any reason even bothering keeping them inactive? Every now and then my bash patch tries to deactivate a mod that malfunctions without the .esp active, so does it hurt if I just keep everything enabled? I think I have most of the mods I really want for NV at this point, so I'll get rid of some smaller mods and just install a few new ones I really want, and then I guess my NV modding will finally be over after 8+ years. For cleaning out inactive mods, should I just like, move their .esp files to another folder or something in case I want to work on them again? What exactly is cleaning up inactive .esp files? Some of them are just minor edits like making things weigh less and the like, so I might just merge a few of them into one simple mod for my personal use. Thanky ou both for your advice though! God, this one was really making me pull on my hair.
  3. Hello. I'm having a very odd problem with NV, one I haven't had in years of playing it and years of using bashed patches. Seemingly at random, my game begins to malfunction and stops loading meshes and textures. At roughly 30 hours into this run, this began happening after Honest Hearts- I've never had an issue like this. At first I thought it was FCO messing up. But It doesnt' seem to be that, as after several fresh installations it's still acting up. There's no pattern to this, it doesn't make sense. The game just... works fine, then it stops working right. Reinstalling FCO does nothing. This game was working perfectly until I finished Honest Hearts, then the bugs started. I thought it was related to the bashed patch, but even using a backup of my bashed patch from a game a few months ago (backed up on an external hardrive) did not fix this, so I do not believe it is a problem with the patch; but once in Skyrim my bashed patch malfunctioned as a result of a mod it tried to integrate, so I'm not sure. I've turned Archive Invalidation off and then back on, nothing. I've never had a problem like this before: it would be easy if it was consistent, but its not. It works for a little while, then it craps out on me. I can never play for more than 30 minutes before it begins to malfunction, usually upon loading a new map. If anyone can give any advice, I'd be immensely grateful. If it has any baring on the situation at all, i'm using Desert ENB. I'm going to try to download NMCs textures and see if maybe having a different texture for the world itself may make the textures for the environment makes that more consistent... but that doesn't do anything for pink faces and missing textures on bodies. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it. Here is an imgur link. In particular, the top two are the same save game, upon loading into Westside. The second was me making a new save, turning the game off, then going back on. Nothing at all changed whatsoever, it just started working temporarily. Furthermore, I did a fresh re-installation of the game (backed up my mods in the 'mods' folder made by Mod Organizer) in the hopes it would fix it, nothing. 5. Hello, and good evening. I am new to ENBs, and recently just installed the Desert ENB as my first one for New Vegas. For the most part it works alright, but in certain areas the ENB seems to glitch up. I tested two other ENBs (Rudy and Nevada) and have a similar glitch. For the most part it works fine, but in certain areas like Primm and Goodsprings Source it begins to glitch out. Is this a common problem? I think I installed everything properly using a video guide, and when I toggle the ENB off it works just fine again. The Steam screenshot files were too big to upload, so here's an imgur gallery. First image is with the ENB turned off then second is turned on, with some pieces of grass and the necklace that's part of this mod armor bleeding through. Third is from the tutorial quest standing right in front of the rock you're behind Sunny Smiles with in first person. Final is me in Primm with the same glitch as before, including my hat being see-through. I can take more screenshots if necessary. 6. I know this is an oldie, but bump? I am having this issue as well, I think it's related to DUEL as my only combat-affecting mod. Has anyone else had this problem?
  7. Reading your post clearly helped me figure this out! I install all my mods using Mod Organizer. All Races Fixed seems a bit odd, because it's a zip file within a zip file: so I had to manually drag it out. MO installed mods don't keep their meshes and textures in the Data masterfolder, instead keeping them in their own folders. I was able to find their own directories and drag the new textures from "all races fixed" into it, and that did the trick. Thank you!
  8. I tried that mod, and unfortunately, that does nothing: it doesn't seem to change anything with FCO at all. The issue is that FCO I believe lacks hand textures for its female Raider races. Causasion Raider, Asian Raider, etc. There's only hand male textures, and nothing I do seems to fix it. I'm not 100% sure though. But people talk all the time like the FCO fix mod resolves everything, which is why I was co nfused.
  9. Hello, good evening. I've been having issues with pink hands on my characters: a common complaint from what I've seen in regards to FCO. I thought downloading the FCO fix mod (http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/61357/?) Female raiders still have pink hands for me. This is weird because its ONLY with the Courier. All other generic fiends and the like have normal hands. This is ONLY with the Courier herself, and only with a female Courier: a male Courier will have normal hands. I was afraid having "Playable raiders + Trait"' activated was causing its textures to interfere with FCO, but disabling the mod does nothing. I even tried copying the textures from the Playable Raiders folder ("handfemale" and "handfemale_1st" over to /textures/characters/raiders, but that doesn't do anything. I do not use any body replacers. I want to make a Raider character for roleplaying purposes, and I greatly prefer how they look in FCO than the Playable Raiders + Trait mod. Does anyone have a solution, at all? I don't mind if they don't completely match up with eachother. I just don't want the pink hands, you know? I thought the FCO fix mod fixed all of these, and most people in the comments say it fixes their problems: so I just really wanted to ask if this has happened with anyone else, and if they know how to fix this, thank you. Just to show you waht I mean: http://i.imgur.com/AWB8aTd.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/IZYd67m.jpg
  10. Hello, hope everyone is having a good day. I've noticed in Skyrim that for the most part, sunrise really begins at 6 AM, and that nightfall really begins at 8 PM. So it's always been a bit annoying to me that sun damage begins with the sun still down, and ending at a time when the sun is still out. I just want to edit it so it begins and ends an hour later is all. I can't seem to find the value that determines this. I've found the ABVampireSunDamage scripts, the VampireSunDamage scripts, and the VampireSunlightISMD scripts. I'm sure it's one of these, but does anyone have any idea what the exact value is that determines when you start taking sunlight damage and when it ends? Thank you!
  11. Hello. So, like many, I have suffered through the infamous eye glitch of FCO. I used to use an old, manual installation version of it, but the backup got corrupted during a system restore and I am now using the most current version. I use Mod Organizer to install my mods as not only is it the easiest (i've been using it for nearly four years now, ever since Skyrim came out) as I had trouble with FOMM's mod installer. And of course, the vanilla eyes were now permanently veering to the right. After doing some looking around, all suggestions turned to using Hi-Red Eyes, and sure enough: my character's eyes weren't wonky anymore. I installed Hi-Res eyes, and hey: everything seemed to be working out great. I got the hair I wanted from Mikoto, the skins of FCO, and everything seemed just fine for a few hours... until I killed some Jackal gang members. Then I noticed a new, unholy eye terror the likes of which I hadn't seen since the Cheyenne eye glitch. Just trying to see if they have any ammo worth looting, and what do I see? http://i.imgur.com/D7Ploj5.jpg Oh. Jesus Christ have mercy on me. http://i.imgur.com/QdgSdk3.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/dYbpYBZ.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/aHBeKtY.jpg Somehow, someway, I don't think this is a typical effect of radiation in the Fallout universe. I mean, i'd accept it as canon in an instant because two eyes per socket actually sounds kinda cool (especially if eyes are bigger so they can be used, after all), but Lord have mercy this is not how eyes are supposed to look in-game. For a better look at how this is, I took some screenshots of character creation to show how they look in comparison to a normal eye when Hi-Res Eyes is active. http://i.imgur.com/dxroQgT.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/5P41g9M.jpg This is not how men and women were meant to live... What puzzles me is how this is only an issue if Hi-Res eyes is installed. When uninstalled, all other custom eyes work perfectly. Here's the exact same eyes without Hi-Res Eyes installed with the infamous eye glitch in effect: http://i.imgur.com/17P5VQD.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/cKQZtae.jpg I'm starting to think this issue MIGHT not be related to Mikoto at all, honestly. For something everyone claims is basically the fix for FCO's eye glitch, I haven't seen anyone talk about this. When I run Hi-Res eyes with FCO inactive and Mikoto running, my eyes work normally. Does anyone have any recomendations? I'll try reinstalling them tomorrow to see if anything changes. I tried to create a mod for FCO to remove all of it's eye option so i could only rely on the vanilla eyes, but no luck there.
  12. Exactly! I like having my Windows background up so I can easily switch back to my browsers and Skype at convenience, I really don't like playing the game fullscreened. Does anybody have any advice on what might be wrong?
  13. Hello, so: I havne't played Skyrim in a few months. I've always used Mod Organizer to launch the game with SKSE, and a few days ago, windowed mode stopped working. When I use MO to launch SKSE, this is how it appears: http://i.imgur.com/zVPt3nh.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/p8Ctc1p.jpg this happens regardless of whether or not I launch SKSE through MO, or manually through the Data folder. however, when I launch Skyrim in any other way, it works: be it through MO or through Steam directly, windowed mode works as normal: http://i.imgur.com/GgvVXHM.jpg I have uninstalled and reinstalled Skyrim, MO, and SKSE: nothing works. Does anybody have any idea how to fix this? I need SKSE for my mods, but I don't really like playing full screened either.
  14. Hello, everyone. I'm sorry if this isn't exactly the right place for this: I really couldn't decide if this was more appropriate here or in Skyrim troubleshooting. Since CTDing is a mod issue for me (not a computer one), and it involves non vanilla programs, I thought this was appropriate? If not I'll move it (or if a mod could move it that'd be fine too: I just need to know is all) So, for years, (since before Old World Blues came out for New Vegas actually) I've been using BOSS. For about a month or so (before it had to update), I was using Mod Organizer. I currently have 199 (so close) mods running, but lately i've noticed when I use BOSS to try to sort the load order, it CTDs on the carriage ride in the beginning of the new game. When I started to run BOSS, I started noticing a few odd things. One of the mods I use is Enhanced Blood and it's Dawnguard/Dragonborn compatibility esps. When I ran BOSS, I was getting an error that while I had the compatibility running, I didn't have it's master. This was when I noticed it said I was running only 89 mods. I began experimenting, noticing it was only recognizing steam workshop mods and the vanilla masters: everything that is inside the actual Data folder. Even the Unofficial Patches weren't coming up in the page that BOSS pulls up after every scan (the one that shows your new load order, dirty edits, all that stuff). I remember that before, even with Mod Organizer, it was recognizing everything. I've run BOSS both from the data folder and from Mod Organizer. And yes, I've used MO to install my mods, but I remember the results were coming up before: at a point when I had installed Mod Organizer and I had used it to install all my mods. An example of a mod I use that's always come up in the unrecognized section is a mod called "Thalmor no steel weapons", which is self explanatory. Usually when I have CTDing issues, I've always just done a BOSS run and that was it. But now it doesn't seem to be fixing it, but I'm noticing this strange issue. I'm ok with having to self-diagnose my mods if that's what it takes, but is somethign wrong with my versions of BOSS and/or Mod Organizer? Thank you so much for anyone that can help me out with this!
