  1. What do you mean by this? I mean just that. Better Item Sorting was last updated in 2015. I've switched to Valdacil's Item Sorting, which was last updated in 2017.
  2. I've switched to a more up to date sorter mod. But the folder shouldn't be an issue as E: isn't my OS drive, so thus should have none of those protections. It also seems odd that this 1 file out of 200+ would be the only one having this issue if that were true. Thanks for the help anyway.
  3. I got a mod that fails to deploy, and the error message tells me to see the log for details. A number of times this error pops up: Sun, 13 Dec 2020 10:52:34 GMT - warn: failed to link link=Strings\Fallout4_en.STRINGS\Fallout4_en.STRINGS, source=Better Item Sorting NMM Installer-897-2-6-1, error=EINVAL: invalid argument, link 'E:\Program Files\Nexus Mods\Fallout 4\Better Item Sorting NMM Installer-897-2-6-1\Strings\Fallout4_en.STRINGS\Fallout4_en.STRINGS' -> 'E:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\data\Strings\Fallout4_en.STRINGS\Fallout4_en.STRINGS'This is the mod it's referring to: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/897 The issue is that I've no idea what this means, or how to fix it.
  4. It was a vortex update, and yes it did. I used to have vortex installed in 'Program Files/Nexus Vortex/Application', with mod files in 'Program Files/Nexus Vortex/Mods/<game name>'. The update changed Vortex's install directory to 'Program Files/Nexus Vortex', wiped all the other files there, then installed the updated version. I've now moved my mods folder to 'Program Files/Nexus Mods/<game name>' to prevent that retardation happening again. WHICH GAME? NO GAME, IT WAS A VORTEX UPDATE! We done using caps-lock? From your OP, I am wondering which Game you are trying to set. But with your attitude and insulting the people trying to help you, you're not going to get very far. Ah, I misunderstood your comment. It's currently set to Fallout 4, and I just wanna set it to anything else. Also: what insults have I said?
  5. Except that's not true in the slightest. What caused my problem was Vortex changing it's install directory for an update, THAT WAS THE CAUSE. Any further off topic comments will be promptly ignored.
  6. If I keep installing programs in Program Files, the default place most programs want you to install them, bad things will happen? Can we stop with the off-topic talk now?

  9. Yeah, I can't do that at the moment. The last update changed the install directory and deleted my mods folder. So I'm using the error about missing mods as a back-up of the mods I need to re-download. But that means I can't get into the manager because the error pop-up forces you to either quit or apply changes (in this case remove all the missing mods).
  10. Ah sorry, that was meant to be 'game', not 'mod'.
  11. How do I change which mod is loaded on start-up?
  12. In response to post #37179945. #37180065, #37187110, #37187155, #37187485, #37187870, #37188675 are all replies on the same post. @cormell It's a hidden folder, you can get there by going to %appdata%.
