  1. I think you might be right. A real bummer because of how perfect this thing is, but thank you for looking.
  2. I’ve been thinking about getting back into modding. I tried it when I was a teenager but was never good at it. I have an idea for a town in Fallout New Vegas, and the Cabin Home by Lonewanderer87 is perfect for it. I could’ve sworn I saw that model listed as a Modder’s resource years ago, but I can’t find it now and I think I should be certain before using it. The cabin does not require a separate space to load into, it looks better made than the usual shanty wooden shacks while simultaneously looking like something made post-war. I can’t get into contact with Lonewanderer87, it appears he has not been on the site in years. He did credit the cabin model to “Sandro T,” but I can’t find a user by that name. I’m unsure where to go from here, does anyone know if this cabin was a Modder’s resource, or am I thinking of something else?

  4. Sorry about that, I meant to get back to you, I just got busy. But, yeah, I was working through the regions menu. But, I will give these threads a look. Thank you.
  5. I looked into it. It looks like in version 2 of Ghoul Mansion, the creator asked people to deactivate the wasteland border entirely in order to reach the mansion. In version three, he remedied this by making the mansion a new world space entirely. It now seems that I'll have to either delete the border region, then redraw it to my specifications (I have no idea what effect that will have on the rest of the wasteland) or just make my town a new worldspace. Neither of those are desirable options. Still, thank you for the help all the same.
  6. I was working on a mod for Tale of Two Wastelands, when a thought occurred to me. I was trying to make a new town to add to the Capital Wasteland. I planned to put it relatively close to the Yao Gui Caverns, but beyond the border region so that the town's inclusion would not be so intrusive. In my attempts to edit the border region to allow the player passage to the town, I discovered that simply moving the border places one of those "edited" asterisk next to every area in the Cell View. I couldn't find a way to reshape the border region to my liking; so far simply dragging the entire west border of the Capital Wasteland has been my only option, and it's caused the above issues with the Cell View. My question is threefold. Firstly, would doing the above increase the file size of my mod since it every area had seemingly been edited or changed in some way? What other effects would the above method have? Finally, is there a better way to edit the shape of the border region than just dragging one side of the border; because doing that just couldn't get the shape I wanted.
  7. I've been testing what you said and It's worked like a charm. I don't know why I didn't realize any of this earlier. Again, I want to thank everyone here for their assistance. I never expected it. Best of all, I now have a greater understanding of how to edit meshes and nifs. Again, thank you all so much, this means a lot to me.
  8. I just want to say I appreciate everyone taking time out of their day to help me. I'll send the files as soon as I can. I am also going to try different options for exporting in Blender.
  9. Well, I found a way to export from blender as a 20.2.0.7 nif, but it just makes the textures black in nifskope and crashes the GECK. I checked the UV maps, nothing's changed. If I can't fix that, I'll have to focus on converting 20.0.0.5 to 20.2.0.7, though I'm not sure if there's a way to do that without encountering the same problem. I'm not sure where to go from here.
  10. I've been looking around the internet, and I think I may have found something. Fallout 3/New Vegas use nif format 20.2.0.7, while blender 2.49 exports in nif format 20.0.0.5. I don't suppose anyone knows how to convert a 20.0.0.5 format nif into a 20.2.0.7 format?
  11. OK, good news and bad news. Good news is, I've gotten the blender 2.4 to export and import nifs. I appreciate everyone's help with that, because that part worked like a charm. I put it into blender, removed the stock, put into nifskope, added the other smaller nifs I wanted to add to it, then put it into the GECK. The bad news is that now when I open it in the GECK, I get one of those big red exclamation mark "error" signs. Never thought removing a stock on a weapon would be this hard.
  12. Still trying both options. As for the blender 2.49 one, despite downloading the nif scripts, whenever I import the nif to blender, nothing appears. I've hit a brick wall.
  13. Importing .obj into Nifskope often result in problem, this function isn't optimal, especially in other version than 1.1.3. Blender (2.49 best used for FO3 and FNV) has nif utilities that allows to save directly in .nif format. OK, i guess my version of Blender 2.49 really does not have nif import/export functionality. Do you know where I can download that? EDIT: Nevermind, I found a site.
  14. I think I found what you were talking about. Problem is, I think they're using the same texture. If I change the numbers to match, the whole thing turns white again. (Sorry about this album method of sharing images, my computer doesn't like imgur much. Should be the last two images). https://photos.app.goo.gl/YnEUfSPELtQKqjAKA

Blender (2.49 best used for FO3 and FNV) has nif utilities that allows to save directly in .nif format. I'll try that. The version I used was 2.78. My version of 2.49 doesnt have an option to export as a nif, but I'll look for one.
  16. I just noticed something else about that white texture; when I change the property values to reflect those of the original, it changes from "BSShader..." to "NiMateri..." I am not sure what those abbreviations stand for, or how to stop them from changing. I'm updating the pictures to show what I mean. They should be the last couple of images. https://photos.app.goo.gl/YnEUfSPELtQKqjAKA
  17. Thanks for the heads up. I checked the NiMaterialProperty and NiMaterialShader and made them the same values as the original model. It made the model white, and causes the GECK to crash when I try to load it. I haven't been able to find the BSShaderPPLightingProperty. I'm still looking, but I'm not sure if either model ever had one. Also, I updated these images. Please let me know if they're alright (the original model is the one with a stock, the new one with the texture problem is the one without a stock). https://photos.app.goo.gl/YnEUfSPELtQKqjAKA
  18. OK, I'll look into these areas and let you know how it goes. Thanks.
  19. Oh, dang. Sorry about that, try this one. https://photos.app.goo.gl/YnEUfSPELtQKqjAKA One on the left is before, right is after.
  20. OK, I just figured out what I did wrong with nifskope, but now I'm having issues with textures.
  21. A few years back, I downloaded a weapon mod from someone on this site. I decided I wanted to remove part of the weapon's stock. I imported it to blender, removed the vertices and faces i didn't like, saved it as a .obj, imported it back into nifskope, and from there, added it to the GECK. Unfortunately, something happened to the texture. Now the lighting is just plain weird, and it looks even worse in-game. Below are the before and after images. Before https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/ieykSGtQd5PW30j0a6B1LGgfRcaYtLuFNryrfd3m_s-QsDpSN-LBMIqu60Jhg2raEoS1QWp7RedeqWK6UR0O3cy4eBuYkZGssb9FhKDBp-ez3FZcI4Y73x82fyqNTVvEp7hLVLL0A6fjRUDU7JVr0QHZhxrM-Clp2j2zVxjEJgJbOAp85lSIh-SizDDD8kn_uH2aXabBC2zZEhWxPZItZfpMTSDPUpzBu196ndjN4g6navj9k8JH78IlYTuqJfVOsLgkCbp8Y98K0Ofg2XgTJCrPcQH3oboLr4Lv0ArhpAm4poSknkITLsG84j5xmD790UtQVFCMuzgM_Q3YVb4GYr8W7i4QQdBrZXZGyCcopuXphbPHlhawXkd67mz48MdYUeI3R-xjHA_lJ9zD5JHywrhY51QBKUWve2yMR3fmP9MV8LK-EGjglv7mEyYdKaPBUDqx-U2m0zFAjdYrPAP1N5zs7ThiBx5hn5ng-NEOONV88yBUCudoPVRHqjj9DBaLn0avqa2VkPGWC4qD5nSf7DiY_ZLpqZjEajfmRyTROzOp_zxImbEePILo7zmSpAWgjrOPRaZRb-GcP-SQx8mMHKCakE53VP_fxPlpIC0=w625-h457-no After https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/44w7KglBgLJyxUnPCfOlCFyDLsHONBVQ4_UsO3Qtm5p-WC_EaiwMgUpqObvbm9INqaPH0JRUZaz5vs4ziANcliOPGmy0envR7drx49MHqLuY3rzcMYU1USylGAvDetA1rJUSgSVgT7C7NpPBWyudCtswa4Ek-01uDpu0W5H0vo2uK2N3rqZ7LjB8DQaIeVHQUe1aAiHvlM5Y00VPeI5Z-Czs6bu1ZMQ0mq9eYUgnoLuFZepeWwqkq_vP9f6EO32lnZA_R6GICwCr97Whw9Uu3InCL9j794rWedlLV97sKxmib8dknl5p76MzkP_0bAzK5Mwkyq8hS_DLW5xsZxWr1aA6JFazepAPRedciDdZ_j95oIndHen190X8F19IlIaSHBA2b9-YoTkDdoiJS23rw0vYpG-7lEgnNQnsqAoUw6XxrrluSq-KHg6y3x_1WqSOwvlAnOG49x4Ab_fuvP1VG9wTVscLjUAy6dYKoQY63cQfHbR3Z1l6EsIcWTJS4GPGQMaSy5wbF2N2bnzl0OHZTH8bXp-wEQBQVVD35fnNftOUbGWjFCM3jiXa0bWWFRKpTCE4Oz4SQV35h78Ns0fbJXZnevHHGGZreucuC-s=w625-h457-no Something went wrong in all of this, but I can't figure out what I've forgotten.
  22. I'm trying to make a nif for Fallout New Vegas (originally tried making it for Fallout 3, but encountered the same problem) I took the top part of the Pulse Mine and copied that branch over to the laser rifle nif, placing it on the side of the rifle as seen in the images below. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/RjkZKQ8lvSEZcB8EkAtUQmJ6CpVfTWkrs4_sv89eh-BVpPUFj_88g86D6--v96j8HT7jH3arZgflsKaMpuaC0dvvIMNk9V_pqYUa0kNKxe_5hWZxxiYQCOnsMhnHNYVY8r5L9XDjDI3C0hz_5v1Aqd69BOZtd5RQ2EtAfqOGz_xUz5SPbI4GdSwYdV2Jjs7DipGH3MGeV259VIuSUcUGKwZ6MvX7OVD3nMOZqVpLpvuYZaoHjv90fASCtfOnm1w3a0h1QfDUuv6Qj2S3mzMJ86ohCLgjn9v9ulKfMcW3u8oqhOE2Ms5j5B9fF7_RGYdCIi2k9vD3DIaRbkCr4RWsJ-WDnNCDOo0Z0EIgcSKtY6hbcQPbnzJnZIa81HrrB0lDBdWNlXNw8IhGCKEk1ZbqsJv2ZzN5As9bftMKhTdBok3Q29rFiddf-6aK1QXfLqs2LiAJzt28lVFw07TacbX0aRRJvRrDAFD3BhiqZ99Jbw9_YZlzLwuCJWOrQsFV0-YBq41iWiOozdswL0MKVUmcNpZcWIZqXIaVcylF3BSakPeuJEsIZjhCLq7kB67KU8gVqD4nmPL999C8tG4JNRdnxNNzCHwndkxgfVDNSpo=w1133-h637-no https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/bBfFEYylMgcbMx0OR9SijZ4s7Vj9uCWc_z9PwUhZfzwCTBW-CSb6eQnl1vqpyuMnoTcaGqkYg0iFdTWPdeLRKdGju1zLDHUO0krpgSddJqijA0NPsB4VwnAMhXT78YOwzGYalEMzcNU_9x3oAuEcdTDBN0_onVcjVGXMnRPr95Zoasaj1e6h6sd4DK01HDhzpkGsyuLoXvGW5_18rltTXGsxAQ73f1zTooHeol0aYrF7K2tEu3BlgpgFBjjHJQyzyQz6ajqGci5rwY19m8n7kSvFdBnfuUb-l7Ea5kcgT1WiSBf6hhtGCLOkB-0NDp5GpbRj_wFUPEuLBcIZWZU37BJrRz-9Mr4cUvlWAx0LbuSp1IfRQ9aoq4mrewl1Z4IRQW0lYGqJY7staUD7Ic8SoFa3TPRij1N77wuXMt2dBqdiYevkxFwyuFoGTjI60ONdtCL-kPBGzhhYG_7z9Ymnf4Pfk0pk_cpWQ6oxFk0dGiiaHObDGRO91WRSggXHX4XsDl6UcV_qdRIHi9oeeLjg9OjGDkBuZjPaBM8Y8eUvRLv4lXvxW3cxRTIJbmgWY7_48YPPQxty2Pse7mJLQ7cZfTV21KKIaReWx6S5ZZs=w1133-h637-no Unfortunately, when I opened the nif in the GECK, my addition did not appear. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/otU0XX7HKpi7RE7o5IkBH4Yo3yNzLI2Y-s0poOC-wI-pEUnq0lJNU6RVvFwJRdOOUfUJsJY3NByY4csb58NWaPan_qun312HFTjgYYMCTSkhqgu-tacUsYvDlMkzZAY3NlJ7NdxutChzUtRmojfhmKC0ZZw1W1L-wZ5MNt5OcuWcrpQVe_jCO6M4QfNinqSaKOGDJa2XavauJtvmG_1TexcA9ySdLtH4rjM7fAqLq3hFT7j0hG_i-32j8JctMOMfqAZD39XVSQIoInVT4YMxR5K9h2r7KKqNJ7QTg2jzhylTN1UCyq9LCUcQqRQgzSihbZh5Zrbl8tPSwS3a73-Xb7zrH6NdhJbuNSp9OaGrUtvVT0PA1LqXr9cmOQ8zUYE9y6MFR2tOb7-YUnayq7cG8lqZxbVv0VFbSdMSQXVQT2mf1i4z-ee7xFOg3ypToZd13mhBNnAvoF6UQ3Q-3DWxSGqG4ycJP5MC9e5zCmMFiqWWn68ybaqspGfltYuLsP0G4LSJOHBhH-A7OAY3bxFByslumSef_0tFmbRWtUVTNZPKRR_oPz_k3zyHKQ22qgpUrqK76rlRhzR047Wz_G3EwnQSfNCqWiSoqPK6kYY=w1133-h637-no I'm still a modding novice, and every nifskope guide I have found has either not helped or is far too over my head. I know I am missing something, but I can't figure out what.
  23. I recently began making a new town in the Capital Wasteland, meant to be used in Tale of Two Wastelands. I built the town in the New Vegas Geck, when I realized that if I made it in the Fallout 3 GECK, I'd have a version of it for people who don't use TTW. So, I rebuilt the town in the Fallout 3 GECk. In my haste, I absent-mindedly gave the plugin for the F3 version the same name as the FNV version. Upon realizing this, I deleted (and later restored afterwards) the FNV version of this town and moved the F3 town plugin to the New Vegas data folder. I was floored to see the old version of the town in the New Vegas GECK, since I had deleted it. I even tried changing the name of the F3 version of the town, but the FNV version I had made still comes up. I'm wondering if anyone has encountered a similar problem and has any ideas around this.
