There are birds. They look like birds of prey, like eagles, or some sort of gulls - because they mostly glide without flapping their wings. Tried to shoot one down but arrows dont reach that far. Look in the skies when you're at Solitude, there's always a pair of them flying around. You can, I spent 30 minutes hunting birds.

Never used gimp but mark the area you wish to recolor, start coloring, use different types of layers etc then fix the edges perhaps, save it out in the correct map and try it ig. I guess? Its like doing any texture. Oo Once we can get ahold of the models i guess you could import it in photoshop and 3d paint it if you wish to work that way instead.

I agree this would be very interesting if it could be done well, maybe a small effect but i think it would be weird if you played 3rd person view... not sure. O o

There should obviously be penalities for not sleeping etc but dying is hardly one of them, that would be rather unrealistic. : ) You can already have your wife waiting at your house afaik. Would require a lot of work and would most likely make quite a big hit FPS wise. I dont see what this has to do with realism, the dragons are rather intelligent how do you tell one to become your pet dragon? Would require VERY much work to change all the mountains, what do you consider to be wrong about them? do you have any examples? I would say this is impossible to do as the NPC would have to be glued to your side and it wouldnt look very well. If it helps you can think of it in this way: he is your follower not your equal. : p Agreed, this bothers me as well and should be possible to fix.

Havent tried to mod skyrim myself yet but you would need some kind of BSA extractor as well as a program to work the images with, iex. Photoshop. Doubt theres any tutorials though.

Yes melee damage is completely broken, my stealth character can almost onehit a mammoth with 1 sneak power attack (21 dmg dagger). imagine two daggers or just simply better daggers more perks in extra damage etc... easily possible to go over 2k damage. 30x damage backstabs is so balanced.

You do know that you can assign number keys to your favorites right? Your way is a step further sure but it still works decent at least. : )

I do agree about urgumflux talk about wounds, with low health you should probably also walk slow and have some sort of darkened vision to make up for the slow reflexes you would have in real life, using a vignette effect at the edge of the screen perhaps. However as I see the talk about potions doesnt make much sense, increasing the maximum amount of hp would be feel like "drink this potion and your body contains more blood", I must say i prefer the way OP described potions, aka slowly increasing hp and maybe just after a certain point so it cant be used to save your ass if you're running low on hp or get poisoned or such. Some kind of settings file you can tweak to your own liking perhaps.

I kind of agree with OPs points, however I'm not a expert in any way. I do think conjuring needs a boost in some way and that you drain magicka to fast, imo you should have bigger magicka pool/less consumption while casting the spells and lower base regen rate. Haven't tried archery a lot so cant comment on that, however stealthy melee are just broken. 30x crit modifiers? I havent even been trying to improve my gear properly im playing expert at level ~25 in random gear i pick up on the way. And I kill EVERYTHING I backstab with 1 hit. Even if I would just use one dagger i would most likely kill my enemy in a hit, imagine dual wielding power attack backstab. An example of the ridiculous damage I do with ONE dagger during power attack (Perks during this: 3 one handed and assassins blade, also got the gloves that makes sneak attack 2x damage), this is during expert difficulty and I'm level 20, the dagger is a ebony dagger (21 damage). http://i.imgur.com/IGocN.jpg Now imagine some proper equipment and such, damage would go through the roof. I bet you would do enough damage to kill 2 dragons in a double-power-sneak attack.
