One does not simply refer to Skyrim HD as "very low quality". One does when it is. Besides, I said "for it's file size" that's the key phrase their. I use 1k textures that look WAAAY better then the 4k textures by bethesda (1k is EIGHT TIMES smaller then 4k!). They seem to think taking the same texture and scaling it up and increasing the contrast means higher quality. The HD texture pack creates really bad lag for half-decent graphic improvement, it is "very low quality" because of that. "Quality" doesn't JUST mean "prettiness" it means how good it looks compared to the performance hit, and the fact is, it's very high performance hit, for somewhat decent visual improvement. For example, 2k textures full version looks very noticeably better then the HD DLC, and is a FOURTH the size of the HD DLC, this means it is MUCH HIGHER QUALITY, even though the resolution is much lower. Even the 1k textures look as good if not better, and they are 1/8th the size of the HD DLC. So, I stand by my point, I do not use the Skyrim HD DLC, as it is very low quality for the immense lag it creates on an already loaded-to-the-brim game. Maybe if you only use 20-50 mods and no other HD mod packs (like book of silence) Then it won't lag you to bad, but I use around 220 esps/esms plus about 20-30 high res texture packs (a lot of which are for Automatic Variants) It does look a lot better then vanilla, but it also looks a lot worse then modder created texture packs 1/8th the size of it. Thus, "very low quality" ^_^ OH! When you said "Skyrim HD", I was thinking the mod, not the DLC.

One does not simply refer to Skyrim HD as "very low quality". I think you should message the author or post a comment, I'm sure it would be repaired promptly. But I doubt that is really much of a problem for most users.

I'm having trouble with my texture replacers. All custom textures don't seem to be overriding Skyrim's .BSA file, AKA they are reverting to defualt. This is happening with all textures that overwrite defaults, and the only fix seems to be to manually edit the texture's _N file (UV Data???), but that's obviously not an option. They had been working, the only thing that has changed is that my settings are at low. Any help will be much appreciated :) -Thanks EDIT: My laptop can't handle complete replacers, so I don't have the officia Hi-Res DLC.

Did you actually read the OP? I don't think there is an "Inconsequential Towns" mod. Op asked for a mod that adds generic towns and NPCs. The NPC part is covered by Inconsequential NPCs. OP might also be interested in Immersive Settlements. It doesn't add new towns but expands the existing ones and also adds generic NPCs. I think you may have misunderstood, I'm not looking for a mod like this, I'm asking what people think of me making this mod.

Thanks, I've already decided I will make it. I just want some input, to see what people like. Endorsements will be a big factor for me.

Thank you! My view exactly. Just a town you come across, look at, and forget. I will need to learn a lot, but it doesn't appear to be too complicated.

I thank you for this post. Very long and constructive. Now, if one were to play a ranger, you could simply disable this mod. If I could figure out how, I would make a configuration menu in SkyUI. I use SkyTEST, so I see the problem there. But I live under the rule that any problem can be overcome, and I don't think that would be a problem with a bit of fairy dust around. I'm a perfectionist, this mod would be fully tested and compatible with my VERY long mod list. I am not afraid to learn, I didn't know how to mod before I became a very basic modder. And yes, that would be weird lol, they would have the basic Skyrim voices of course, just don't expect any good conversations. And yes, my strategy would be to get a town working, then add quests and voices, and then do that to another town. Also, I downloaded both of the mods you said, they looked very nice. Thanks for all of the great ideas!

So I always hated loot in the Elder Scrolls series. I mean, you braved the depths of hell, slayed a variety of ungodly creatures, and what do you get? Iron Greaves of Major Hardness. I mean really? We need more things made of gold, gold plates and cups, vases and pottery, old coins, decorative weapons, stuff like that! What do you think?

I think you misunderstood me, I mean to add new towns dotting Skyrim. I personally haven't found that to be the case. From my experience, it's highly unlikely to find a mod that would use the exact same space as my towns. They would be about riverwood size, not walled towns.

I hope this is the right thread. So I'm a very basic modder, and I have an idea I may just execute. I haven't seen any mods like this before on the nexus, so here it is! A mod that adds generic towns and NPCs. These people won't have much to say, if anything, and the many towns will have some basic functions, such as taverns blacksmiths and merchants. Maybe add some random encounters, a few quests, and so on. What do you guys think? Just to give Skyrim some personality. And I mean a lot of small towns, not just 5 or 6.

Hello, i am just about to have fallout 3 downloaded and i wont be allowed to play unless i turn off blood(no problemo) and get Lances Language Filter(also no problem) . BUT i want to change the COLOR of the blood, would it be possible to: Change universial blood color (i know about the geck cause im a n00b with morrowind house mods) . OR Changing the blood color of all humans would be better. OR remove dismemberment, but only for humans. Or just change red blood to blue in the geck. Any help would be appreciated.

Well I just signed on and I want to know if my pc can download mods. It has nothing installed, no obse no wrye bash no obmm. Can I download simple mods with just that?
