  1. Just saw this on Reddit and couldn't find the source. Thank you. Now the debate if April counts as early 2016. JK.
  2. I came on this thread because I was wondering what the OP said about Gunner's Plaza. I thought I might have missed something, though... maybe subconsciously I was looking for an excuse to bash Fallout more, but hey, the conversation goes on with or without me. ...Okay, I shouldn't have said morons and I guess I have complained too much. I usually try to be constructive, though. I didn't make any mods, just have an interest in them and plan on helping one of the bigger projects with writing, music, and hopefully voice later this year. The main reason I have complained as much as I have is because it's difficult to assess what really went wrong with it. Was it a sellout? Was it a lack of inspiration? Was there an inflated ego involved? Were they trying too hard to avoid "risks"? Idk, but that lack of closure is what keeps poking my brain. This might be a first for the internet, but honestly I apologize.
  3. The way people defend this game is astounding. It's as if they feel personally insulted if you question any one of it's design decisions. A handful of people seem to only be on this forum to talk in circles ignoring all points being made or making excuses for Bethesda. Any one who has a gripe with this game and makes a thread to vent or discuss no matter how civil they try to be, are blasted with insults by these morons. So to the OP discussing your grievances with this massive let down of game on this forum is now about as useful as being a critically minded guest on Fox & Friends. I now only check these forums for news on mods and every time I look I see the same people doing this same thing over and over again. Unless they work for Bethesda I'm sensing some psychological issues.
  4. This has piqued my curiosity. Are there any historical sites you are thinking of incorporating, or historical events you plan on referencing? I'd love to look them up and get a background on Lincolnshire.
  5. Maybe Bethesda does need a bigger team. If they really did take 5-7 years to make this then that is really telling. I've moved on for now, and I've never stopped playing a Bethesda game so quickly. It's sad because I love Fallout and have been looking forward to this for a long time. The fact that there is nothing like this in the game is the problem. The only thing I can think of is the Covenant quest and it's not really that great either. The world doesn't reflect your choice of what you do with Covenant, nothing becomes of it.
  6. I can't wait for the alt start mod (I prob won't play until then) but this won't be official DLC unfortunately. This game deserves a lot of official updates I don't think it will get, just standard Beth DLC and bug fixes. As it stands, I would rather have been a random vault dweller from Vault 81 or even started with the Institute and chose whether or not to defect. Could've made for a more interesting story as well as introduction to the Commonwealth.
  7. The game is lacking. It's apparent. It's obvious. You're the one who started insulting me out of no where and then you call me butthurt? Project much? I didn't "move any goalposts" that is just a lack of reading comprehension. You insulted me; i extrapolated and gave a short explanation. I'll make simpler so that we all understand: If you took all of Skyrim's people, places, and things and put them next to all of Fallout's people, places, and things, you would find Skyrim had a greater number as well as more interesting people, places, and things. Well I'm all douched out for the day. Feel free to get the last word and say that I'm deflecting because I didn't give you a five page thesis or a side by side comparison of the locations you offered (which would be even more evidence to my claim that you'd ignore). Have a Good'n.
  8. There was a reason behind being in most places in Skyrim. To get Dragon claws, learn shouts, to find a villager's lost sword, special armor and weapons in specific places with questlines, special enemy battles, blah blah blah. No there aren't more distinct gangs. It's funny you call my complaint stupid but you actually have no desire to think critically or fact check yourself. You say there are no RP opportunities in the assault of Whiterun, Solitude, Windhelm-> after you choose to do those things??? Pick your side in the war? Bleak falls barrow served a purpose. Morvarth's lair served a purpose. Jurgen Windcaller's Tomb definitely served a purpose. They were all quests with stories and dialog, worthwhile rewards, unique bosses, and not just some cheesy hollow cassette. It's not like I intend on playing an RPG to negotiate with every possible enemy. That's a stupid argument. Don't insult my intelligence. These responses just keep getting dumber and dumber.
  9. RPG is not just role playing though. RPG stands for role playing game. I understand that this is still an RPG, but it's lacking in comparison to previous titles. Sure some people are gonna like it. I just don't understand it being lauded as it is. As far as RPGs go there is a lack of depth in this game more than other titles. How it is the same? The girl in the cabin, the old man in this cave, the mayor bunker, the old state house, the gallery, the quarry and many more...they all hardly the same. It's not just the areas but what do you do when you get there? Kill the enemies, Look at corpses, and listen to cassettes? It's all lazy. It's a game made out of all the little extra things you'd find in the other games. They're 5 second set pieces. It's always telling "hey look at what used to be here" or "see how this corpse got here". Yeah It's the same crap. It doesn't take a genius to come up with the s#*! they write, either. It's like they ran out of time and needed to throw something together. OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
  10. This. The towns really don't measure up at all. The companions had less depth in Skyrim but their were a LOT more people to interact with with more interesting stories and quest lines. We can all imagine a better Diamond City easily. We can also imagine how much a couple more towns would've done for this game. It is severely lacking. And I keep seeing that you "discover" something around every corner. What does it matter when it's all the same? This game is an open world shooter adventure game. You can say it's a better open world shooter adventure game than Skyrim but that's it. Map, towns, character, quests, loot, story. What most people play an RPG for is just poor.
  11. Fallout 4 is defiinitely smaller than Skyrim. I would be okay with it if the Commenwealth felt alive but it's small AND devoid of towns, npcs, side quests. I felt like I was in Skyrim and never got bored enough to look for the edge of the map. In F4 I've already walked the entire perimeter looking for any missed locations, (it didn't take that long). The thing is people are trying to accept the game for what it is (which I understand) but Bethesda didn't have any restraints or reasons for making it smaller and altogether lackluster. They could have designed it to be sprawled out and given you a motorcycle/vehicle or something, or made the roadways still serve a purpose, or make up for it's size with more communities and influence in the world, they just didn't. It's not a good game to me. They can redeem themselves depending on what they do with it or what they make next but if it's similar to this, it'll be my last Bethesda game. I will say that Bethesda has been my favorite dev for a while but not after this.
  12. Well, I thought it was quite funny actually. And it looked cathartic too, which I suppose is what this thread is all about. I love reading other people's rants. None have yet matched that guy who let rip about NMM when he upgraded and it messed up all his Skyrim mods. That was epic. Thanks lol. OP said "This is the thread. Let it out. Vent" I know everyone's entitled to their own opinion... like Hitler and Mao.
  13. I'm so sorry you couldn't find the humor in what i wrote. I'll go get a clue now. Thanks.
  14. The absolute most infuriating thing now, reading/hearing 10/10 reviews and seeing ads for it. "Yo dawg. Ignore all da haterz. I'm not usually an RPG gama per se but this one's got me hooked." "This is Bethesda's Best game yet. The hype waz realzz" or "It's a good game. It's just lacking RPG elements." How about "Bethesda dumped a hot load on me and I payed them to do it, I'd reload my save and say "no" but they'll just force me to do it anyway." Where's that review?
