  1. Most mods only change the difficulty of combat. I am seeking to change the difficulty of the game as a whole, so that all locks cannot be forced, speech checks passed, computers hacked, etc. and so that skill books and bobbleheads still have meaning in the game, while at the same time leaving the feel of the game intact. Lowering the player character's skills seems to be the best way to do this. There were no issues with doing this, and batch files made the whole process very simple.
  2. Hi, I am about 1/3 of the way into my first game of Fallout 3 and have already reached level 30 after completing Operation Anchorage. I don't mind not gaining further experience, but am thinking that my very high health and high skills may make combat in the rest of the game unchallenging. If I ever find time for another play through I will use one of the slower levelling mods, but for this game I am considering using player.modav commands to reduce my character's stats so that there is still a chance of failing speech tests/locks/dying in normal combat. I have read about errors that might occur when raising skill, but have not been able to find any reference to errors that might occur from reducing it. Are there any game errors that may arise from reducing one's skills in this way? thanks for any input!
