I have optimized my air flow in my case as much as I could possibly do... load temps CPU 50-60C (65 max in prime95 after 1hr), GPU has never gone beyond 85C (furmark 15min torture test). I have front 200mm intake, 120mm intake, 120mm side intake for HDDs, 140mm side intake for GPU, 200mm top exhaust, two 120mm rear exhausts... Please don't tell me its a temperature issue... because its not. I'm sorry but everyone keeps saying this and NO its not a temperature issue... if my computer can run more demanding games without issues, it must be skyrim. as far as taxing my computer with other applications, I have firefox running with this site and UESP wiki. SPECS: i5 2500k 4.8ghz 16gb ddr3 ram, stock voltage/speeds (1.5v 1600mhz) ati radeon hd 6870 oc'd 950/1170 (I have a GTX 470s from my old computer, and I get the same issue with it... single card or SLI) *** GPU turns off with or without OC currently using my dad's SSDs, he had two spare so I put em into raid 0... error happens with these or with my normal spinning HDD (EDIT) corsair TX 750 power supply So basically, this happens randomly. It can happen about 5 minutes into playing the game, or maybe after two hours. My GPU fan is at 35%, which is quite loud as my card is a reference design and has that blower type fan... Suddenly, my screen will shut off. My monitor will display a message like "NO INPUT FOUND" and I can't hear my graphics card fan anymore because the card itself has shut off. I can hear skyrim in the background and I'm forced to restart my computer. Now I've logged my card info as I play. Power to the card is constant. There are no spikes in power consumption or lack thereof. The error only happens when I play Skyrim. Temperatures are also normal. Now these are the games I've been played on my computer in order of most graphically demanding to least: BF3 > Dirt 3 > Skyrim > SW:TOR > WoW > League of Legends I have had NO issues with any game BUT Skyrim. Obviously my card can't handle games like BF3 or Dirt 3 on the most demanding settings, but it should run Skyrim without issues... I mean my friend's got a GTX 550 that runs Skyrim without any issues.... I'm sure its some coding error on their end, because here's what I believe the culprit is... My GPU usage on Very High 8x/8x is about 65 to 75% on average. Randomly, it spikes to like 95%+ and I've noticed that sometimes it stays at 95%+ and the card shuts off shortly... I am not sure if this is the issue or not. My FPS are around 50-60. I've limited FPS to 40, which I have 100% of the time and leads to a very fluid gameplay. Again thsi error happens whether or not I leave fps alone or not...
