  1. Turning off Autosave completely fixed the problem. I have two hours of game-time without any problems now. Thanks, never would've thought to disable autosave!
  2. Have you cleaned your load order with TES5Edit? Dawnguard adds a lot of duplicate NPC's which aren't spawned by the game, but REALLY bug down the game. With the amount of mods you have, TES5Edit might allow more memory to be allocated to those mods instead of the bugged Dawnguard dirty edits.
  3. I'll try turning off the autosaves. I'll report back with that after I play. Hopefully I won't have to report back for a while. And I have no map mods installed. Being that I don't fast travel, I also try to never use the map. Plus I've put so many hours into Skyrim I pretty much know where I'm always at.
  4. I try to queue up mods I want to use (usually about 10 - 15) and mods I want to remove. I then play my game until I am done with it, then I delete the save game. Uninstall the mods you want to remove, and install the mods you've been wanting to use, and start a new game. Also make sure to use the Alternate Start - Live Another Life mod, as when you start the new game you shouldn't have any issues (being that you use BOSS, have a Wyre Patch and have cleaned the new mods with TES5Edit). If you want to keep a game save, try not to uninstall / install too many game changing mods or it will eventually corrupt.
  5. I don't have any performance drops upon going from exterior to exterior world and then back out again. Everything's normal. In fact, I can enter and leave most buildings without performance drops or anything like that. Last time it happened to me, I was exiting Belethor's shop. Time before that I was leaving Solitude Jail, and the time before that I was entering Drelas' cottage. I don't know about fast travel, though, as I have it disabled in a mod. 1. Haven't touched .ini or Prefs for anything except camera adjustment (camera doesn't move in third person when unsheathing). 2. I am using the 2k pack but had the problem before using it. 3. I don't use ENB. Can't stand it. Imaginator / Dynavision do all I need. So I dunno. My rig: AMD FX-8350 8 Core 4.0Ghz AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB x2 (Crossfire) 8 GB RAM DDR3 G.skill Ripjaws Windows 8 Pro x64 I always run FRAPS when I play, could that possibly have anything to do with the infinite loading screen?
  6. Peter Molyneux is doing a new game which he is saying will be a direct sequel to Black and White, Populous and Dungeon Keeper. I suggest you guys donate to him he has a website somewhere but I can't find it. http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/11/21/peter-molyneux-kickstarting-new-game-project-godus On topic, love god games but this looks odd lol. I'll definitely wait until it's released and look into it more then though. Kinda distracted atm.
  7. I always finish the Civil War first so I don't have to do this stupid quest.
  8. Now, I am not getting them when loading my games, but at random (about once every hour or two; sometimes more frequently when exiting buildings) the loading screen will never end. This is pretty obvious, as my system loads them within a second or two usually. So, I decided to make sure my saved games weren't too large in file size. They're not - around 6,000 kB.. but I noticed something really strange. Instead of one file for the save game - there's three of them. (save game).ess (save game).ess.bak (save game).skse The .ess and .ess.bak are about the same in size, and the .skse is always 5kb. The autosaves have those three, and my hard-saves have one .ess and one .skse Is this normal, could it be causing the strange loading screens? Here's my mods and load order (I also have the Skyrim HD 2k Texture pack - official Bethesda one is not-checked in NMM; I have also cleaned every necessary mod with TES5Edit as according to BOSS): GameMode=Skyrim Skyrim.esm=1 Update.esm=1 Dawnguard.esm=1 ApachiiHair.esm=1 AOM.esm=1 JSwords.esm=1 Skyrim Immersive Creatures.esm=1 SkyMoMod.esm=1 SPIKE.esm=1 HighResTexturePack01.esp=0 HighResTexturePack02.esp=0 HighResTexturePack03.esp=0 Chesko_Frostfall.esp=1 SkyrimURWL.esp=1 TradeBarter.esp=1 AOM.esp=1 Cannabis.esp=1 CannabisUpdate.esp=1 Chesko_WearableLantern.esp=1 genpeople.esp=1 Immersive Battles.esp=1 Immersive Brigands.esp=1 Immersive Dawnguard.esp=1 Immersive Factions.esp=1 Immersive Mercenaries.esp=1 Immersive Patrols.esp=1 Immersive Travelers.esp=1 Immersive Werewolves.esp=1 SkyMoMod Extras Collectables.esp=1 Chesko_LoreBasedLoadingScreens.esp=1 DYNAVISION Dynamic Depth of Field.esp=1 IMAGINATOR - Visual Control for Skyrim.esp=1 IMAGINATOR - MCMenu.esp=1 RaceMenu.esp=1 RaceMenuPlugin.esp=1 SkyUI.esp=1 BDYEB.esp=1 Cloaks.esp=1 Cloaks - Dawnguard.esp=1 hothtrooper44_ArmorCompilation.esp=1 Troll Hunter Armor by Hothtrooper44.esp=1 JSwordsDistributionBalancePlugin.esp=1 MVSSII.esp=1 LOTR Shield Pack.esp=1 RedguardKnight.esp=1 IA6npc01.esp=1 Monster Wars.esp=1 Venator-Daemonous.esp=1 Immersive Events.esp=1 Four Slots for Enchanting .esp=1 UnechantedItems.esp=1 Guard Dialogue Overhaul.esp=1 Headtracking.esp=1 Hypothermia.esp=1 Immersive Weapons.esp=1 dovahkiinrelax.esp=1 Enchanting Freedom.esp=1 The Dance of Death - Dawnguard Edition.esp=1 UFO - Ultimate Follower Overhaul.esp=1 UFO - Dawnguard AddOn.esp=1 Alternate Start - Live Another Life.esp=1 rcrnShaders.esp=1 Purewaters.esp=1 PurewatersDG.esp=1 Bashed Patch, 0.esp=1 getdrunk.esp=1 (unchecked and has been removed but still shows up in this .txt file; not NMM)
  9. The Nexus is 100% the best non-corporate gaming company made website around today. And if you're looking for mods... pfft. You might as well not worry about mods if the game isn't hosted through the Nexus website. Wish I could be a supporter but I can barely afford the games I play.
  10. Overclocking is something I could definitely look into, but I am going to op against it (for now). Never had it in me to push my systems harder than they are. But anyways, I'm trying to let Skyrim allocate more RAM using [Papyrus] in SkyrimPrefs.ini because I just updated Fallout: New Vegas to the 4GB version, and now I get a 100% smooth FPS in that at all situations. Sure, it won't be much, but it will do enough to hopefully at least give me smooth rates in non-bottleneck situations. I'll randomly take FPS drops in spots I don't during other times. I dunno, my FPS is variable. I'll still hold on some amount of considering towards overclocking, but Skyrim will half to annoy and push me to my limits before I do that to my computer. Thanks though, good discussion. Gave me more to think over. Other opinions still welcome though.
  11. Swamp area is what drops me the lowest as well. Usually the most (25 FPS). And yes, I understand the difference between the i5 and FX-8350 having double the cores but not double the processing power, what I'm simply asking is why I am dropping so low so much because I do not use any texture mods whatsoever. I run on max settings (aside from shadows, which I set down because I can't see the difference between one crappy shadow and the next crappy[er] shadow) as well, but with even less power due to no texture mods. And if you look at the link I posted, it shows that my crossfire cards can go upwards of 180 FPS in Skyrim (which isn't something I want, but the point is...) and I am unsure why I am rarely at 60 FPS, regularly dipping 40 - 50 (which is VERY noticeable, because it's a rapid stop and return dip). Where is all the power that those guys were testing going to? Oh and by the way, there has been recent testing of the new FX-8350 processor versus the i5 and i7, and it has been shown to actually do better than both (not always, but it does). Not to mention it has a 4.00ghz standard power. It's about $120 less for only 4 FPS average less (not even a notable difference, game wise). Here's another link, I suggest you look at this one and the one in my first post as well. I am NOT achieving optimal performance from my machine, and I have come here to figure out why (so for future reference to anyone, save the lectures, help resolve this issue).
  12. The FPS dips are quite random, but the problem is... I shouldn't be having any. Any ideas to improve my FPS? AMD FX-8350 8 Core Processor Dual AMD Radeon HD 7870 (Crossfire) 8 GB RAM I've seen people saying they get 60 - 90 FPS on Maximum Settings in Skyrim with a Quad Core i5 and SLI 560 TI's (Something like that)... what's the deal with my rig? Why am I getting bad dips? My cards are significantly better than 560 Ti's and I have double processing power + way newer technology. And I thought I might add my game maxes out at 60 FPS according to Fraps - I have a Plasma HDTV; it allows me to see framerates much higher than such. A link below shows I should barely be dropping past 60 FPS - and go much higher. http://www.pcper.com/reviews/Graphics-Cards/Frame-Rating-GTX-660-vs-HD-7870-plus-HD-7790-HD-7850-GTX-650-Ti-BOOST/Skyrim-
