  1. I'm not sure why there's no way to see our stalker in their gear. I wanna have some way to see how my Stalker looks in different armor/helmets/etc. We need a Character Window in the Inventory screen. Make it so. Also, on a similar vein, I hope someone's workin' on a 3rd Person camera mod, like the other 3 Stalker games eventually had. I like being able to switch between 1st person and 3rd person, depending on what my stalker's currently doing. Thx in advance to anyone who tackles these two requests/suggestions!
  2. I dunno how much the bike model can be modified, but OMFG I would love to see Deacon on a cool Ducati 900S from the 70's with the cafe fairing, bar end mirrors... or something similar like a Triumph Speed Triple or BSA. Cafe all the way, low bars, rear sets, 2(or 3)-into-1 exhaust (assuming it's a v-twin or Triple), cafe seat. Is this even possible? If so it would be sweet.
  3. I've noticed that not all mod authors are specifying as to whether or not a given mod is client-side only, or also is server-side, requiring all clients connecting to said server to run the same mod client-side. Could we get a standardization in place where mod authors are explicit in regards to whether it's a simple client-side mod or if it's a server-side mod? This would be so very helpful, because while in some cases it's obvious, in others it is not so clear.
  4. So... now I'm starting to believe that I can't just upload the changes I made to Cait (via the in-game console command "showlooksmenu") to the Nexus and instead have use FO4Edit and/or Faceripper to make the changes and then upload those files? Is this correct?
  5. Anyone? I'm sure it's easy, I just want to be sure I'm doing it right before I try. Maybe there's a link to an existing tutorial? Any help is appreciated!
  6. I use CBBE and Bodyslide. I used it in Skyrim, and I use it in FO4. And the sole reason I use CBBE/Bodyslide, is to have the ability to make my female character's (I play both male and female characters in various play-throughs) bodies look exactly like I want them to. Trust me, the vanilla character creator's body adjustment system is archaic and very limiting compared to Bodyslide's capabilities. What I DON'T use CBBE for is to have my female characters run around naked, or wander the wasteland in skimpy, unrealistic clothing/armor. I don't use any "skimpy" mods at all. I'm what you'd call an immersion nut... and the idea of someone (a sane someone, anyway) going out adventuring through a highly dangerous wasteland in a miniskirt, tubetop and 9" stilettos is highly unrealistic and thus immersion breaking for me. As a matter of fact, my characters are basically never naked, unless while swapping out clothing/armor I remove a piece before throwing on the next piece. Nudity is not the sole purpose of CBBE/Bodyslide, or even it's main purpose. After all, you can choose the "Nevernude" option which adds the vanilla underwear to your character just like the vanilla game. And so, if you think that's all CBBE/Bodyslide are for, or that's all people use them for, then you're just being closed minded and/or you're uninformed. All that said, I have no problem with other peeps running around the wasteland naked or in bikinis or anime outfits or in fantasy armor ported from another game... it's their game, it's their rules and it effects me not. So why should I care? And so I don't. To each his/her own.
  7. Hey there wastelanders! So I've made cosmetic changes (using slm in console) to the companion Cait in my game, and I'm quite pleased with the results and I think others might like this new Cait as well. And so I thought I'd throw her up on the Nexus for anyone who does. What I need help with is... Which files do I need to upload to Nexus, and where in my FO4 folder can they be found? Many thanks, in advance, for any help!
  8. I'd love to see a retex of Maxon's Battlecoat, done in a slightly darker, richer brown while keeping the collar's fleece a natural sheep's fleece color, though perhaps a bit less dull than the original fleece. For contrast the BoS jumpsuit underneath should stay black, though perhaps with some accents like some of the metal buckles and whatnot being redone to show up better. If anyone wants to tackle this, it'd be greatly appreciated and I'd bet others would feel the same! Thanks in advance, should anyone take this on.
  9. For those who for whatever reason don't want to update NMM and use it to launch Fallout 4, you can use one of these methods in this video by the always awesome Gopher. There are several options (two of which are in the video) to get around this issue, and one of them should work for you. Good luck!
  10. In response to post #31718855. #31719265, #31728140, #31728760, #31729470, #31731095, #31731335 are all replies on the same post. @ptelin Yes, if you've set your plugins.txt to read only, you will need to first go back and uncheck it again, before you install any new mod that uses an .esp file. You can always create a desktop shortcut to your plugins.txt file to make it easier. Keep in mind that a downside to making it read only is each time you run NMM it will ask if you want to set it back to default, and if you choose "No" you will not be able to manage your plugins. So answer yes, but then know you'll want to go back into plugins.txt and recheck it. Or, don't make plugins.txt read only and instead update NMM, make sure all your plugins are checked in it, then use NMM to launch Fallout 4 each time.
  11. In response to post #31718855. #31719265, #31728140, #31728760 are all replies on the same post. Are you launching the game directly from NMM?
  12. Some folks seem to be missing a key part of the above article and the purpose behind the NMM 0.61.3 update... Going to >> << the important bit. "Today we have released NMM 0.61.3, this release will once again allow for you to >>run Fallout 4 directly from NMM<< with all your mods and build order intact." To be more clear, it's saying for this fix to work, you need to launch the game from within the NMM.
  13. In response to post #31714220. I'm no expert, but you should be quite safe after changing all your passwords. Unless your PC is infected by a key logger virus.
  14. In response to post #31714675. #31724210, #31725155, #31726105 are all replies on the same post. Yeah, and switch to Chrome.
  15. In response to post #31699195. #31709590, #31710865, #31717215 are all replies on the same post. A wee bit verbose, (and I know verbose!), but rather well said and pretty damn accurate. The Nexus staff treats people like people, not numbers.
  16. In response to post #31726705. I had zero problems changing my password. If you can't manage it via your account profile, then log out, and instead of logging back in, use the "Forgotten your password?" link to reset it that way. Good luck!
  17. In response to post #31715540. #31717135 is also a reply to the same post. Yeah, a1021, you're not likely getting spam emails from a minor data breach that occurred in 2013. Possible, yes. Likely, not really. Chances are, some site you recently registered with, sold your data and now you're getting spam. And I call BS on your assertion that this site, or those who run it, "...have a bad reputation already." There are always going to be disgruntled peeps, some folks are just naturally that way, but overall, I've seen nothing but positivity from Nexus users in regards to this site.
  18. In response to post #31714675. #31724210, #31725155 are all replies on the same post. You say a fresh windows reinstall, but that begs the question... Did you format your drive before the reinstall? If not, any virus/malware that was on your PC prior to the install, could still be there. Also, I've been using the Nexus mods site since 2011, and can tell you I've never gotten malware or a virus from this site. Not saying it can't happen, but pointing out that this is a pretty well run and maintained site. But then, I don't click banner ads. If a banner add interests me, I google whatever the ad is about and get to the content that way. Banner ads aren't under the control of the site usually, so they cannot guarantee a banner ad's legitimacy. And as the other poster commented, try run a virus scan, and if you don't have it, download Malwarebytes (you can git it from download'dot'com) and run that as well. In any case, you definitely have a browser hijacker of some sort on your PC. Good luck!
  19. In response to post #31724440. #31726500 is also a reply to the same post. Are you absolutely certain that the email was truly from Amazon? What you may also have gotten was a phishing email from someone looking to get your Amazon password from you. The timing may just be conveniently (to the phisher) coincidental, and utterly unrelated to this site's breach. As a matter of fact, it sounds very phishy to me, in that how exactly would/should Amazon know your Nexus site details were leaked? Furthermore, as said in the above article, the account info acquired in the breach was very minimal, and thus should have no impact on your Amazon account's security, unless you do the unthinkable: use one password for all sites. If you updated your Amazon details via a link in the email you got, I'd recommend you go to Amazon.com by typing it in your address bar and then reset your password again. You can never, ever be too careful regarding your account security at sites you've given credit card info to. Oh, and if you can't log in to Amazon with either the old or new password, then you got phished and someone has taken control of your Amazon acct. Good luck!
  20. In response to post #31573045. Thank you for that info! I'm happy to say I downloaded/installed none of those 3 mods. I changed my Nexus p/w regardless, just to be safe.
  21. Is it possible to make a mod that would allow one to use the showracemenu for companions? If so I think it would be a wildly popular mod. I make my own companions via the CK, but that interface is so clunky and doesn't really accurately represent how they look in game (there is a lot of distortion when getting in close). Plus, it's a pain to go from CK-to-game-to-CK-to-game-to-CK-etc... to fine tune. Just a thought. And if this already exists, please link to it. I looked but maybe my search criteria was poor. Thanks!
  22. I've recently been watching the excellent new series on the History Channel called "Vikings" (historical fiction, not a documentary) and throughout each episodes two things keep coming back to me: 1) The show really, really makes me think about Skyrim the entire time I'm watching it. 2) The hairstyles seriously need to be added to Skyrim via some talented mod author's efforts! (especially Ragnar's, but many others as well) So... can I beseech someone talented in textures/meshes/etc to look into the show and bring these cool, historically accurate and Skyrim-lore-friendly viking hairstyles to Skyrim, please? I fear I haven't the skill required to undertake it myself, or I'd be working on it now, instead of asking someone else to. http://www.history.com/shows/vikings Cheers! PS - If you haven't seen the show, I recommend it!
  23. You're the second person to recommend that one. I'd seen it before, while vetting a dozen others, and I must have gotten it mixed up with another mod, because I'd written it off as requiring Script Dragon, which in fact it does not. So I think I'll give it a try, thanks Silentone89!
  24. I'm looking for a mod that allows the leveling of the leveled items such as Chillrend, Pale Blade, Gaulder Blackbow, Nightingale Bow, etc. I've found many mods that do this to some extent or another, but either they are outdated and no longer supported, don't cover all/most of the items in question, or make other changes like adding/modifying the enchantments or otherwise making them overly powerful. One mod even just makes it so character level is taken out of the equation and regardless of level at time of acquiring, the player gets the highest lvl version, making getting them at earlier levels a bit overpowered, imho. I'm not looking to be able to craft these unique items, as that for me would remove the fun of earning or finding them. I don't want to make them overpowered. I just want to be able to not have to plan ahead when I'm going to do certain quests/quest lines in fear of getting an item that is supposed to be a powerful artifact and then quickly watching it become obsolete as I level up. Any suggestions?
