The simplest thing it could do is just take what you have if you can't pay, it takes whatever caps you currently have and that is that. There is no need to make the mod overly complex.

I would love, if someone made a holotape that allows you to give yourself a Weekly amount of caps that is drained from your inventory. Why? For house mods, a immersive way to pay Weekly rent on those fancy free house mods. Further info for the tape's setup. It is modular, with 5 options to allow you to increase and decrease the amount you are charged per week. The lowest is 2000 caps a week, the highest is 10000 caps a week. There should be a option for every 2000. Example: 1: 2000$ a week. 2: 4000$ a week 3: 6000$ a week. 4: 8000$ a week. 5: 10000$ a week. As well as an option to cancel the weekly charge all together.
