I'm also looking for a mod like this for the same reason, with a controller there are limited hotkeys with the d-pad so un-equiping a hotkeyed item with the same button would be helpful. Since this worked for Skyrim it ought to be possible in Fallout 4 as the game engine is the same. There are even spell effect and enchantment remnants in the game files.

Could someone please make this mod? I am inept. Or rather, I haven't gotten into making mods yet so I thought I'd throw this idea out there and let someone else take credit for it. Just replace the earned XP sound with Bill Burr's podcast audio saying, "Right there, Fred!". Why? Because the satisfaction of crushing a rival sports team's hopes and dreams for victory with a last-minute point is comparable to offing nasty beasts and raiders. And he's from Boston, after all. Lore friendly! And immersive as you know what.
