  1. I'm putting this here as it's either an insanely rare glitch, or a mod has interfered with this quest somehow. Rowley Eardwulf was from the Oblivion Deepscorn Hollow DLC. The quest marker pointed to the cellar which requires a lockpick, but once inside it just directed me to go back out and no one was inside. I had to use "setstage CR04 20" to complete the quest. I could find no mention of an NPC by this name in Skyrim vanilla, so 99% chance an installed mod stuck the name into this quest(UESP's guide suggests this quest is exceptionally buggy & random in who it will pick) 1% chance the character's name is in the game data. This is my 2nd playthrough, I have 2 mods installed to expand on the "destroy the Dark Brotherhood" quest, though Legacy Of The Dragonborn may also have reason to reference this name for an item.
  2. My specs. I can run LE at 1600 x 900 on full details nearly flawlessly(very occasional stuttering from loading). I question it handling SE, however, as it seems below spec for that but someone else may know for certain Acer EG43M (CPU 1) Motherboard - this really limits how far I can upgrade this PC and I'm not going to be buying a new one anytime soon Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1 Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 @ 3.33GHz 8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 399MHz RAM 1TB WD Blue HDD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti SC 2GB (EVGA) 500W Tomahawk PSU I might be able to get a better CPU but it's not going to be much better. As for the GPU this seemed the best I could get for this PC in terms of power AND physically fitting into the case. It's the only 750 Ti that's short enough to clear the RAM slots, the other brands were too long. Even so the PCIe 1.0 slot is bottlenecking the card to some degree and I doubt any potentially better GPU that will work is going to offer any significant improvement. 8GB RAM is the max I can go. The best I hope to improve anything is eventually swapping to a 1TB SSD for speed but prices on those are still a bit high.
  3. Various quest chains in the game affect radiant events in the world. I don't play DB or Thieves Guild(never touched them in Oblivion, either). I also did the "kill the DB" quest though as you never actually kill ALL the members one can assume they'll still be able to pull off the intended lore events later on anyway(no doubt all lore going forward will mention these events happening regardless) So are there any existing mods that set certain variables- the wedding assassination, death of the Emperor or other avoided quest lines- in the world itself without requiring the player to advance in those quests directly?
  4. Patreon doesn't really work as a "tip jar" anymore. Too many people who use it have taken to deliberately using it as a forced paywall to access their content, or demanding money to continue making content. I also question the legality of actually making money off game mods, since more often than not for many games, you really don't own the mod you created. I know that as far as Minecraft goes, their TOS gives them full ownership of all user-created content(which maybe explains why 90% of the new stuff they add in updates was taken from mods) and I'd wager that most game companies have similar clauses. Not only does it stop mod creators from selling their content(and you have to admit that users making mods is more of an allowed courtesy on the part of the game company- they do not have to allow users to make mods whatsoever) but if you remember the 90s, it also put an end to random companies compiling mods off the internet and selling them as commercial CD-ROM packs- of which they often did without the mod authors' knowledge or any license from the company. Plus it also eliminates a lot of drama and bad feelings if mods are suddenly being sold- there are those in the Doom community who still aren't happy that Final Doom was switched from a pack of freeware levels to a commercial product at the last minute, and that happened almost 20 years ago.
  5. Turned out to be a load order issue. I had to move the mod's associated ESM to second, above Cybiades.
  6. I think I have this mod installed right, so what's going on here? The ground itself won't show up unless I get within a certain range, leaving a lot of trees and buildings floating in the distance. http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj72/diosoth/bow_lod.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj72/diosoth/bow_lod2.jpg
  7. I want to use a simple wig mod for my character, problem is the ears vanish. That can be remedied by amulet or tail slot ears... but I find they only seem to want to fit right if your head is at the default width. Fall Hair Wig Shop, Apachii Goddess Store and Apachii Wigs all have ears, and they all have visible gaps on the side. Is this something that just can't be helped? Am I missing a mod with better ears? I'm not talking about extensive race or beauty mods that alter races and attributes, I'm talking wigs and ears that can be equipped.
  8. I did find this- http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/32876 But either it's a bit buggy or another mod is interfering with it. I've had it either lose its settings or just stop working, the spell refusing to do anything, and a couple game crashes while changing weapons.
  9. I searched but could not find any mod that seemed to fit my needs(though site search seems a bit broken lately... I can search for things I know exist but still get 0 results). My idea is that if you don't have the bow equipped, the arrows are automatically unequipped. Equip the bow and whatever arrows you had on prior will now show up. I just think it's a bit pointless to have arrows visible when you've got a sword and/or shield out and not a bow, plus with larger 2-handed weapons they tend to clip through the quiver in 3rd person view. I know I can do this MANUALLY but it's one of those things that would be an incredible hassle to do that way.
  10. I solved this one by pure chance. It was the HGEC Goddess Armor set. I got it from this pack- http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/16639 But then I stumbled upon the Goddesss Armor's own mod page and it had a fixed ESP file, mentioning an issue with female Argonians having blonde hair. I guess I lack the hair mesh required so it showed up as nothing.
  11. If I had to make a general request it'd be for more upper body armor for the E-cup EBE torso. E-cup cuirasses and tops for any HGEC armor tend to be for the normal torso only. I use the EBE body, and equipping these armors causes the arms and neck to shrink and lose muscle. Plus altered gloves to go with these, so the bulkier muscles of the biceps don't clip through some of them. I'm not making a specific request, just noting that EBE fighter torsos tend to get overlooked in a lot of mods. For example, the ANB mini micro bikini, there is an EBE torso, but not an EBE BBB top set. If I want BBB with it I have to use the normal set.
  12. I haven't noticed anything unusual with kills or death animations. Then again, I use powerful enchanted weapons(sigil stone and multi enchantment mods) so almost any enemy I kill in one hit, especially with an arrow, tends to get knocked quite far like they were hit by a bus.
  13. Well.... I don't actually use that specific skeleton, I only use this- http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/37596 I use the controllable skeleton version, not total controllable. As long as it's not a sign of possible game-breaking corruption I'm not too worried about it.
  14. I only noticed this very recently so it's only just begun. it's NOT abomb, I've used Wrye Bash to clear abomb twice now(unnecessary but did it anyway, I've only managed about 20% so far on this save). I thought maybe the pose mods I just installed were the cause but I disabled those and it persists. Most of my recent mod installs have been clothing/armor/wigs. The only new major mod were NoMaam BBB animations and Growlf's Universal Skeleton. But the problem is, if any character gets knocked down by an attack(non-fatal) their weapon stays in the air, where it was. It will snap back to their hand when they get up. Happens to PC and NPCs both. If an NPC is knocked down, but dies through a lasting enchantment the weapon will hang in the air but is still registered as being on that NPC, and can be collected by looting the body. This is a minor issue but I consider anything like this that pops up to be worth looking into in case other related problems also happen. You can make out my sword hanging in the air after I've been knocked down by an arrow. http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj72/diosoth/sword_in_air.jpg
  15. Maybe this already exists but I couldn't find anything... in short, the idea is for a room with only an invisible floor, a white/black/whatever background and good light from all directions, the purpose being to take screenshots unobstructed and without having to worry about light sources in a room. This would be especially useful for pose mods. Get in or out by giving the player teleport spells- one to enter, the other to return to a random town.
  16. So far I've noticed no performance difference in Oblivion regardless of my texture settings. High resolution VS medium resolution on default game settings makes no difference(maybe 1-2 FPS difference, at most), and I have to keep the game on hi-res to keep signs readable, and because some mods require it. I also use the 2048 x 2048 HGEC skin textures with no problem. But I'm also running the game on an onboard integrated Intel video chip, not a dedicated video card, and I don't have much hope of upgrading to a video card any time soon(beyond buying a card I'll need a new PSU to go with it). Can I update the HGEC skin textures to 4096 or will that risk a serious performance hit?
  17. My searches for any content based on the Doom games have turned up nothing. There is a sci-fi weapon mod which has some Quake 3 and Unreal guns, and a "baron of hell" playable race which I don't even think is really based on the Doom creature. I mean, I can't find any Doom Marine armor, or monsters. I expect weapons to be hard, though a BFG-9000 staff that fires a powerful magic blast might work well. Monsters? i don't know, using a standard male body with some tweaks, an Imp should be easy. Revenant should be simple, take a skeleton and put some torso armor on. Though firing blasts from the shoulders might be hard, but give it fireballs and a strong hand to hand combat skill, plus fast speed. Lost Souls might work with a skeleton with horns and a flame, made to fly like a ghost or wraith. Cacodemons might be hard, but I did see a D&D Beholder monster in an Oblivion mod vid on Youtube, for STM Scouter, which might fly and work in a similar manner.
  18. When I copied files to make the new folder structure, I copied the black and lava DDS files, but not the glow or normal map files. Copying those to the new folder seemed to totally fix the issue. http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj72/diosoth/fixed_armor.jpg As for why the bones went all funny with the missing texture maps, I have no idea. I half expected them to be messed up regardless but they're working fine now. I've used NIFskope to change texture files several times, including for one mod I've released but I've generally done simple edits for replacer files. This time I needed 2 new armor pieces while keeping the original, and while changing textures is easy I'm not experienced yet with adding new armor. I also copied the texture files over, in case I ever release the mod, so it won't rely on users having to install 2 other mods to use it.
  19. I wanted recolored versions of the "Daedric Gauntlets Nude" from Growlf's Hot Clothes but didn't want to just edit the default set, so I followed the tutorials to make new copies. I copied and edited Growlf's NIF model, the only editing/changes were to set the new textures. I then followed the CS wiki's tutorial to add them to a vendor, which went fine. Only I buy and equip them and... http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj72/diosoth/broken_armor.jpg The original works, the new ones do not. The only NIF editing I did was to the texture paths, and the armor entries in the CS are set to the same as the original pair. They just aren't working right and I have no clue why.
  20. I installed and tested Growlf's Universal Skeleton Nif and saw no reduction to FPS, not even in areas heavily populated with female NPCs. To make sure, I uninstalled and compared FPS, then reinstalled the skeletons and equipped one of the few BBB-enabled armors I have installed(it's part of the Draconci Armor HGEC pack, it has BBB and non-BBB versions). Even in OOO Dzonot Cabe, which is full of female enemy NPCs I saw no performance hit despite 6 or 7 of them in the second room of the cave. USN works just fine, but Coronerras Maximum Compatibility Skeletons offers a severe performance hit when it's installed.
  21. I wouldn't either, but with it installed a small group of 3 or 4 female NPCs was dragging my FPS down quite bad(and in some places, even one female NPC caused a hit). Removing it and going back to the vanilla skeleton fixed the problem so it's likely the extra bones and such, and I'm on the stock onboard Intel integrated video chip, not a dedicated GFX card so I'm already running the game on less than high settings. Though I also have the HGEG body plus the EVE clothing replacer which already adds more vertices to character and armor models. I've heard of older skeletons which have the breast bones and nothing else but I can't seem to find any. Strangely, male NPCs gave me no such issues with the skeletons, only females. Though I don't use new male bodies, just vanilla. I can go through that final battle of the main quest with numerous imperial guards and Dremora with no real FPS hit. What you should do, instead of removing the skeleton, is just use non-BBB enabled animations. That is almost certainly what is causing the dragdown, not the skeleton. That sounds like a good idea, but I don't currently have BBB installed, and it wasn't installed when I did the test with the skeletons so BBB animations can't be the problem. As to why this happens, I don't know, but it stopped when I removed Correna's MC skeleton. The best place to test was Dzonot Cave in OOO which has female enemies(the vanilla cave is just regular bandits). With the skeleton installed, a group of 3 of them dragged the game down to a sldieshow's pace, while with the vanilla skeleton it was quite playable. I haven't tried the other newer skeleton yet, but I understand it has more bones. I can test it and see what happens(when I get time) but I expect a slowdown.
  22. I actually voiced support of this idea some time back. It was a bit annoying searching for mods to find them for the wrong game... especially trying to search for anything that added Morrowind content to Oblivion. Though I think the search needs to be tweaked as I still get a lot of old file results.
  23. I wouldn't either, but with it installed a small group of 3 or 4 female NPCs was dragging my FPS down quite bad(and in some places, even one female NPC caused a hit). 24. Would a non-BBB version of the Saint/Seducer separate armor pack be asking too much? I found the maximum compatibility skeletons were causing much of my performance drop so I'm playing without BBB or compatible skeletons now, but this means I can't use any BBB armor as they'll go all funny without the skeleton for them.
  25. He made references in Skyrim that indicate that to be the case. Which annoyed me beyond annoyed. Their clues? Saying he was in the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood. I don't play either guild and it thumbs their noses at people who played Fighters Guild or bought and played KOTN.
