  1. Hi there - Been toying with mod kit, script studio and trying to reverse engineer other peopleâs mods but canât seem to figure out where to start for this. I want to make a mod that shows all the secondary hidden chests on the map that currently do not have markers but the prima guide atlas shows you where they all are. I like exploring but itâs irritating to try to remember which ones Iâve already found and I actually enjoy clearing off icons on a map. Itâs not fun to flip back and forth to a guide. Easiest case I could just put all the icons in to the static map texture files but a) couldnât figure out how to rebuild the texture.cache and b) it would be a cluttered mess in game and the icons wouldnât disappear once you loot the chest. I checked out the all quest objectives on map mod and saw that they have a way that puts merchant icons on the map once you discover them, and if I could replicate the same thing for the chests that would a to least solve the problem of not remembering which ones Iâve found. Ideally, the mod would simply add a custom icon set to the legend that you can toggle on or off that shows you all the chests you have left to find and either deletes or changes the color of the icons for the chests youâve already found. If anything I would think this is possible with scripts but I looked through the games scripts and couldnât find anything that points to whether or not this is possible. If someone more knowledgeable about modding could confirm whether possible or not and point me in the right direction to get started it would be much appreciated and if I did manage to create it I would for sure put it up on the nexus :)
  2. Hi there, so I've spent the past couple days modding Skyrim. I've followed various guides, uninstalled, reinstalled, discovered conflicts between mods that were included together in popular guides (how??). I've since uninstalled everything and just installed a bunch of graphical enhancements, a few conveniences, an enb, a follower, some memory patches and other fixes, and a lot of big quest mods. Honestly my main goal is just to have a beautiful looking Skyrim without going overboard, use this body replacer (https://modding.club/skyrim-modding/lb-lady-body-free/lb-all-lady-body-sse/) because I just love it, and have a ton of new content to explore (legacy of the dragonborn and new item packs for it, Beyond Bruma, etc.). I'm not using that many mods compared to the guides. If possible, I'd like to have a game with next to no freezing and crashing. what I DON'T want is to get started, get attached to my character, and suddenly have freezing in game. I'd LOVE if any of you could help give me some points on anything I might have wrong before I continue! So what I've done: When following the guides, I could boot up the game and play anywhere from 5-20 minutes until I got a hard freeze. I had a couple CTDs but when I found conflicting mods I deleted those and no more CTDs. From there my only problem was some hard freezes (with sound playing) again anywhere from 5-20 minutes of running around. Then I deleted everything, meticulously reinstalled but kept out anything I could live without (like RS children, bjinn wives). I've installed any and all relevant patches I could find to my setup. So I booted up the game, and again got a hard freeze. After some internet research, I found this script: https://github.com/DavidJCobb/xedit-tesv-scripts/blob/master/Skyrim%20-%20Papyrus%20-%20Delete%20invalid%20script%20properties.pas and ran it in SSEedit on all my mods. And then I booted up the game again, and I've been running around and going to major cities, Windhelm docs, etc., playing for 20+ minutes, and no freezes. I have no idea what this script did, and I'm not sure if it's officially working or not. I put the game in god mod and flew around the map at light speed, going to the windhelm docks (just stress testing as much as I could) and still no crashing or freezing. I WANT to just be like OKAY IT WORKS but I DON'T WANT to start "officially" playing and then get another hard freeze, I'll be heartbroken. So does anyone have any input at all? How do I know for sure I now have a stable skyrim? What did that script do that could have made it more stable? My specs: Operating System Drive #1 (Primary): 480GB ORIGIN PC Approved Solid State Drive Memory: 16GB ORIGIN PC DDR4 Powered by Kingston 3200MHz (2 X 8GB) Graphic Cards: Single 11GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Power Supply: 1000 Watt EVGA SuperNOVA G3 Processors: Intel Core i7 8700K 6-Core 3.7GHz (4.7GHz TurboBoost) System Cooling: ORIGIN FROSTBYTE 360 Sealed Liquid Cooling System for 1151 Socket Motherboard: Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Gaming Ultra 2.0 Power Supply: 1000 Watt EVGA SuperNOVA G3 As you can see...the system SHOULD be able to handle Skyrim with like every mod ever haha, so it's not a hardware issue. And yes I'm using the memory patch and ENB and the havok fix and correctly installed SSE engine fixes. So here's the LOOT load order: Nothing super crazy really. I also have a decent amount of 2k-4k textures installed, my full installed mod list is here: And finally here is my most recent Papyrus log in case that's at all relevant, this wasn't before a crash or freeze or anything it's just from my recent stress testing. I've looked up a lot of these messages from a post about the Papyrus and it seems like *most* of them are harmless with a few questionable ones: I'm using a bashed patch for leveled lists because of all the item packs I added. I made sure to deactivate the mods it suggested before I built the patch. I'm not using a merged patch, and I didn't clean any of the mods using SSE (read it isn't necessary and that it could break things). Most of the mods I have don't say they need to be cleaned by loot. I think I only cleaned like two based on a guide that said those needed to be cleaned (some special thing to do with ELFX and something else I forget the one). Anyway, I know this is A LOT but I've spent so much time on this, all I want is to play these mods and have a game that only freezes like once in a few hours or something. I'm scared of playing for 20 hours and suddenly everything goes to s*** because of some weird crashy script mod I have or something. I figured some of you modding gods would know any last polishings or final touches I could do. I WOULD REALLY REALLY REALLY APPRECIATE IT I JUST WANNA PLAY THANK YOU LOVE YOU!!
