  1. Have you disabled the anti aliasing and other effects in the game? Make sure all your effects are done by the DSfix.ini as opposed to the in-game configuration.
  2. Is it only not showing up on your system? Try sending the .esp to someone else and have them test it for you. It might only be within your install of Windows if it's a bug. Otherwise, perhaps there's a way that you can manually edit that NPC's data and make sure that it reads the ID and colour for that specific war-paint? That's all I can suggest at the moment since I haven't gone too deep into follower and NPC creation.
  3. I love caves, as opposed to dungeons they are murky and have their own peculiar feel about them. Unfortunately I don't love creating them anywhere near as much as I do burning down skeevers with fire spells in their atmosphere - anyone who is familiar with dungeons and the creation kit will know what I mean. A lot of people say that the cave tiles are not scaled, and are not meant to fit together. This is not true, they are just as much like Lego as the rest of the tiles. The difference is that just as there are front and wall tiles for the Nordic and Dwemer dungeons, the caves have a more complex system about them. Their pieces are labeled 01, 02, 03 etc. This is to ensure that you are able to effectively make a cave that snaps to the grid and doesn't have any of these terrible seams. It's a lot harder than it sounds, though, and it's taken me this long to figure it out since half of the modding community was convinced that you just chuck a few dirt mounds on top and you're GTG. I really just want someone to link me to a decent tutorial, with someone who knows what they're doing that gives a good explanation on how to make complex and beautiful cave systems that don't look like a public toilet you'd find around the back of your local Safeway. I need to have the basics reiterated to me, because I have had so much confusion and I can confirm that there is a proper way of making cave systems and I just need a good explanation and elaboration on what those processes are. Even if there's someone decent here on the forum that can type out what they know about it all, I would appreciate it to no end. Currently my caves are looking very blank and amateur simply because I can't get a decent hold and knowledge of the system and effective way of creating them - otherwise, any links to videos/articles would be of just as much value to me. (I've seen For Adventure's tutorial on YouTube and although he was brilliant at explaining all the other aspects of Creation Kit, he had the laziest concept down for cave creation and by my assuming that you can just place random tiles down and cover them up with mounds and clutter as he said, my dungeons are looking like they were made by a five year old.)
  4. I think when Bethesda created Skyrim, they assumed that new players would instinctively follow the questline. You can do what you want, but the game will never limit you and if the quest couldn't be done at low levels then it wouldn't be available. I'd suggest going with the flow, don't worry too much about your level because that breaks a lot of immersion. If you have to take the time to level up a bit, just casually do smithing and alchemy wherever you can. Heal with a restoration spell as opposed to a potion from time to time and experiment with different types of weapons; you'll be a decent level in no time. In answer to your question though, I think Alduin is an easy fight in itself. Going straight through the main quest you could get him down on Adept difficulty but you can always tone it down a bit if you're having trouble with it. Effectively you could beat Alduin as a level 1 on easy, not to mention you'll get plenty of weapons and abilities along the way.
  5. I've just finished everything that I wanted to do in Skyrim and I'm ready to start modding it as I had planned to do. My problem is that I want to save my mod preset, (I have 150 mods installed) so that I can load it up again when I am ready to play the game. I'll be testing my mods a lot now, so that means I'll only have the Skyrim.esm loaded, but when I want to play, I'd like to load up all the mods that I had active in a save so that I don't have to go and individually activate 120 of the 150 that I have installed, because likely I'll forget something and by the end of it have so much orphaned data that my save corrupts. tl;dr I need a program that will let me save what mods I have active, and then load them back up again to that preset later. Does such thing exist? If not, what do you guys do to get around this problem?
  6. Fixed. Weird eye swelling was caused by "All-in-One Vampire Faces for UNP" and the disgusting shadows within the eyes were caused by the fact that I was directly over a certain kind of light coming from below.
  7. I'm in Solstheim at the moment, but I've had these issues the whole way through. I'm getting sick of them and I don't know how to interpret the crashes, here's what I'm getting. The crashes happen indoors and outdoors, once every hour or so. Sometimes when I pause, other times in the middle of combat. I have no idea what this firefly.psc crap is - but it's always the last thing before a crash. Here's my mod load order: and here are my system specs. Intel i7 3770K Processor 8GB DDR3 RAM AsRock Z77 MOBO ATI Radeon HD 7950 VGA Card Any help would be appreciated.
  8. Below is a list of all the mods I have installed. This issue has only started happening recently, any ideas? I've also uninstalled The Eyes of Beauty, Cute Eyes and some other things, to no avail obviously.

    So, here I am.

I've had my Nexus account for about a year, and another one before that which I subsequently lost the password to as I was only interested in using it for a day to experiment with my Oblivion game to see what it would be like to make everyone naked. Ha, mature. Here I am again, this time with different intentions, if you can believe. I've noticed that the modding community here seems to have a common ground, and I can appreciate that. Now, I can appreciate a lot of things (I can appreciate it when a 5th gen Pokemon looks decent enough to use, I can appreciate it when a reboot to a really terrible movie actually starts to make sense, and I can appreciate it when perfume smells nice enough on me without making me come across as gay.) But what I'm talking about here is a different appreciation. You move in unity and you have a basic knowledge of each other, and I've seen some stuff based on friendships formed which I've found absolutely hilarious. Communities like this on the internet are usually small, unheard of and in places where most people can't be bothered looking but at the same time they're so not-desecrated by pointless and fleeting people, but enough of that. I'm here because if you combine what I just said with the fact that I adore video games and creating things to do with them, the end product is quite pleasant. I don't normally have anything to do with communities, and I create games on my own or with a few people. The only other forum I've really associated myself with is the Minecraft Forum, and I still do when I go through my phases of creating servers and making them too hard for casuals to enjoy, but a treasure for people who want a challenge. Hopefully that's what I can do here. Unfortunately the only game that I'll be creating mods for is The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which is perhaps one of my most favourite games of all time. I was introduced to Oblivion in 2006 and I almost wet myself, it was revolutionary to me, and that's something I don't think I'll ever experience again. I'll be doing models, quests, places and dungeons, so if anyone is interested in working with me or you want to start modding but haven't gotten around to it I'm more than happy to join you. Anyway, if you've made it this far, I've probably given you a headache but I wanted to post in the n00b section to say hello. I guess that's the best place to start seeing as I want to get to know people and be a part of the modding community. Feel free to send me a private message as well, I'm rather social as of lately.
