When I try and send an interceptor to fight the first UFO it doesn't launch and it just stays on the Geomap while time goes by. It doesn't fight the UFO and wont let me esc. I get stuck on the Geomap and nothing happens. Any idea whats going on?

Issue: I downloaded LW and played through the first mission and when the first UFO shows up I try to send my interceptor but when I do it doesn't launch the interceptor and I get stuck on the Geomap, time goes by but nothing happens. it never makes it to the interceptor fighting the UFO. Any one else have this issue or any solutions?
